He stayed open late to see the fix through so I could ride back home. Saved me hundreds of dollars by rebuilding it with parts he had in the shop. It was 1/3 the cost of the estimate I was given at a nearby shop that couldn't even handle the job for a month out. Charles took care of it while I waited. Lots of customers came and went while I waited and I witnessed him treat every customer with courtesy and respect. For my front brake, Charles had to re-thread 2 parts so they would fit together again! He had a really handy re-thread file tool which I've never seen or heard of. He told a few stories while I waited and he worked. He gave me a tip on where to go to see salmon running and seals feeding (and possibly orcas waiting at the mouth of the inlet to feed on the seals #PBSlive). AND I learned a lot about the bike I've owned since 2008 that I never knew before. Besides being personable, efficient, respectful, and informative, Charles is a Master. I highly recommend this guy for your bike stuff.

Unfortunately, one of the large bike stores in Greenlake did not have stock - and there was no stock in any of their other stores. I called Mend & spoke with James. He immediately checked and confirmed they had the bike in stock. I headed over to Mend, paid for the bike and James hooked me up with all the accessories. Went back the next morning to pick up the bike and Zoe did a great job putting everything togeher - the rack, lock holder, etc. Zoe also took a lot of time to explain all the functionality of the bike and showed my daughter how to use the locks, take out the battery, etc. A wonderful experience. As a mom, I also feel assured the if my daughter has any issues with the bike, she will feel comfortable going to James/ Zoe for help. It's priceless to know your college kid is in good hands! Thank you James & Zoe! OH! And Mend did not charge a $100 "build fee" for the bike. THANK YOU! 2 ebike stores I went to had this $100 additional charge. James put it well when he said . . . After 5 weeks elapsed I tried calling, emailing and texting for a status update. No response. I physically had to go to the shop to get an update. There was some mix up with the manufacturer and the bike wouldn't be ready until the following week. An annoyance but these things happen. Another week goes by and nothing. Again, I tried to get an update and nothing. After 6 weeks I finally got an update and the bike would be ready that day. I went to the service center and they didn't have the bike. I was directed to the warehouse which was not far. I get to the warehouse and they are still working on the bike. I wait another half hour. Finally the bike was ready. Except, it wasn't the bike I ordered. The accessories I ordered were incorrect. The passenger seat was incorrect from what I ordered at the store. I rejected the bike as nonconforming. They probably could have fixed it but not without adding to the price and causing even more delays. But they didn't offer to fix the mistake or any sort of apology. The only bright spot was they refunded the money quickly. In addition to losing out on the riding season (good weather) I'm probably also out the $300 WA rebate. I don't know if you can transfer it to another shop once used. Don't waste your time with Amped Adventure. Their communication, customer service, and turn around time is atrocious.
