Several years ago, I had a freestanding 17' x 17' metal latice patio installed by Sun Boss Company. Structurally, it seemed to be sturdy and durable. Over the past months during which we have had strong winds, several metal lattice strips flew off the patio cover, some of which became bent. Several end covers have also blown off and lost. I contacted Sun Boss Company requesting a quote to repair/replace the strips. The response was very concerning in that they stated that they would not be able to do any repairs but would be willing to provide me a quote for a solid, insulated cover which one would expect to be quite expensive. I would expect a local company to be able to resolve a quality issue as part of the integrity aspect of their business and find a way to make repairs. This raises questions about whether to look to another company that is willing to address structural deficits that may arise in the future. read more

I was passing by their sale stand this company set up in the mall. I picked up a flyer and decided to give them a call because I have a very small shower stall I wanted to have work done on. When I called I spoke to a pleasant person on the line her name is Julie. (I believe she's the manager) Julie set an appointment time to have a free estimate given to me on my shower. The day arrives and Erik shows up to my home. He noticed my new porch concrete I had installed with another company. He asked me what I do for for living and I said I work in Healthcare, he said most of his clients are Healthcare workers and cops!! He saw dollar signs I guess. He looks at my shower and said let's not waste time I can tell you now your shower is going to cost 8k and up! I said wait a minute I have a flyer claiming $4,600 to 6,500 he said no as if he didn't believe me. I go and find the flyer he said he doesn't believe it , its not his company flyer he then took a picture! I seriously think he and this company try and milk you out of the most money they can if they hear your occupation and see a nice looking home! Crooks! Be very careful folks! i was so impressed with my initial meeting with Sun Boss who explained all the details of a walk in shower in my condo. i was kept informed as the materials were shipped and within three weeks had the amazing work done in just 7 hours. I was able to use the shower 24 hours later. The man who did the work was careful about putting down covers on the tile entering the bath and there was nothing to clean up after. I first found out about Sun Boss through the Better Business Bureau. I initially contacted them to potentially change a wooden deck into a sun room. However, due to budget restrictions, it didn't quite work out as planned, but David suggested an alternative option of changing it from a deck to patio. It turned out great! They did such an excellent job that I also contacted them to convert a tub to walk in shower. Carlos did a fantastic job. He got it done in 2 days and was very careful in the demolition and construction. He laid out floor coverings so as to keep the area clean and protected while he was going to and fro from my home. All of the folks who I've had contact with at Sun Boss were professional, pleasant, and very nice. It is a fortunate stroke of serendipity that I am writing this review on Thanksgiving day, since I am very thankful for the job the was done by Sun Boss. I spent over $70,000.00 on a covered patio and when the aluminum at the bottom of the wall corroded thru, they told me that aluminum doesn't corrode. I sent them pictures of the bottom of the wall corroded completely thru, after that this company ignored my calls and emails. I guess they think I don't matter or that after spending that much money I had no right to a competent install. I cannot stress too much how this company should be avoided. No service, no consideration, and apparently poor quality. Go elsewhere! read more

My involvement with Sun Boss began with Erik, who came to my home to discuss the available products with me. He told me about the quality materials, history of the company, and the excellent people behind the construction of the rooms. He wasn't wrong. There were no high-pressure sales tactics. He didn't need it. I asked questions and he answered. I signed the contract and gave him the deposit that evening and have no regrets. After thinking about it overnight, I decided on a slightly larger room, so I called Erik. He and Donn Stanley came to my home with a new contract a day or two later. They also measured the yard and house while there. The estimated start date for my project was December. Lucky for me, in November, Donn emailed and asked if it was ok to start soon. Perfect! Well, it's a few days before Christmas and George and Glen just finished my room a little while ago. I love it! George and Glen were always prompt and professional. I felt that they cared about doing a good job on my room and I appreciated that. I never had the impression that they were rushing through the construction, and in a hurry to move to the next project. Their work was outstanding! Kirk did an amazing job on the painting, and float and texture of the exterior house wall. It looks like it was part of the house when it was built several years ago. It's pretty! As they worked, everyone involved left the yard and room clean and organized before leaving for the day. My experience with Sun Boss Corp. has been one that I will repeat to my friends and family. Thank you, Donn, Glenn, and George for answering my numerous questions throughout this process. I'm anxious to get the window treatments and flooring completed soon! I thought I needed a new door for my sunroom as I have a dog that thinks it is a termite and ate through the door. My sunroom is fairly old and I wasn't sure where I was going to find a new door. I saw Sun Boss's sign along the freeway repeatedly so I finally stopped in. I showed Julie - the office lady-- a picture of my existing door and she asked me to text it to her and she would show it to David, the owner. I did this and within an hour David called me and told me exactly who the manufacturer was and the year it was made. He also told me that door is no longer available, but that it could be repaired. This made me very happy as I was not thrilled with the idea of spending $150-300 for a new door (my guess at a price). He sent out his worker, Shelby. Shelby was wonderful. He was right on time, very courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. He went right to work and had it done in no time at all. My previous door had a dog door and he installed the new one for me without charging me extra. My experience was fantastic from start to finish. I would highly recommend this company. read more

My grandmother had a patio cover done by then and has since had them out 4 times to fix things that have fallen off or leaked. It is leaking again and I called Friday the 8th to speak to someone about fixing it and was told i would have a call back if not that same day then on Monday... Well guess what today is Friday and I just got a call at 5:20 after calling them 2x's today. The women that picked up wouldn't even help me she said she would have the guy i spoke to last week call HAHAHAHAHA he text another guy to call me. I expressed that this needed to be done ASAP as we are leaving town well now I know he cant do it this weekend cause he is moving and that this job is kinda far from him but he is gonna be at the dentist in Loma Linda on Wednesday so he squeezed her in about 1ish. GLAD UR CUSTOMERS MATTER THERE BUDDY... I don't care that your moving I called over a week ago and nothing has been done nor would be done because I had to call back they were never going to return my call and when I do get someone they cant even help they have to pawn it to other people. We wanted to extend and screen enclose our patio so we could better enjoy sitting outside without those annoying flies pestering us. We decided to hire Sun Boss because of their longevity and reputation in the industry. David Kain from Sun Boss was very thorough in presenting all the options to us. David was also very helpful meeting with our HOA design review committee to offer extension design options that could be approved in our community. Thanks to David's efforts, we did get approval. Our patio roof was extended six feet by twenty-four feet. All the material used is of high quality construction and an attractive appeal sandstone color that coordinated naturally with the color of our house. Donn Stanley from Sun Boss was very dependable. He kept us updated throughout the project in coordinating material delivery, the workload, permits and invoices. David Shelby, Sun Boss installer, was absolutely a true professional and very skilled in the construction of our custom project. He cleaned up at the end of each day (seven days total). David was very meticulous making sure every detail was done correctly. He would always stop to answer any concerns we had during the installation. There were a few minor issues that had to be corrected, however Sun Boss and David Shelby did not hesitate to come back and make it right. We measure a good company not only by a quality product, but also by how well they respond to issues or concerns. Sun Boss definitely provided both with excellent customer service. We are really enjoying our patio now. And, with the positive experience we had, can highly recommend Sun Boss. read more

We contacted Sun Boss after our twenty two year old solarium failed due to shoddy work by the previous supplier. Dave Kain was skeptical at first but once he got a good look at the site he and his engineers embraced the project. The Sun Boss crew showed up exactly as scheduled and completed the job in a professional manner. Given how the original panels failed we were hesitant to rate these replacements until they had seen a couple of winters but now that this 2 story by 70+ feet long structure has comfortably rode out two strong winters with heavy snows, rains and winds... we have not seen a single leak or failure of the panels.
