I recently purchased a home with several damaged post covers on the existing Alumawood patio cover, and I was searching for a vendor to make repairs. I called several dealers, and none would give me the time of day. They said either they don't do repairs or they only work on covers they sold. I have no idea who the previous owner purchased the cover from. I purchased the panels and planned to install them myself, but once they arrived, I knew it would take someone with the experience and knowledge to do the job correctly. So, back to the phone to find someone to help me. Fortunately, I called Valley Patios and spoke with Matt. He couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. He asked me to send him some pictures of the post and the new covers, and said he would get back to me with a quote. A couple of days later, two men from his crew showed up and made quick work of the installation. Watching them work, I know it was a good thing that I didn't try to install the covers myself. I contacted Matt and asked what I owed for the installation, and his reply was, "It was a simple job and you live close to the office, so it was no problem to stop by on the way to a job, so there would be no charge! There can be no better example of exceptional customer service. I have never met Matt in person, and he was willing to help me out of a jam free of charge. Don't use them Matt comes across very professional however he does not return calls and he drags his feet on getting his workers to complete job. His office help is confused and provided inaccurate information and schedules appointments but don't advise workers. I waited at least 3 different times for workers that never showed up allegedly because they were not advised. This project took way to long to complete based on the contract date. I had numerous imperfections that were finally fixed however, they were not done until I contacted the Orange County location complaining about Matt and asking if there was a corporate office that could get involved since Matt had been paid in full. After that contact, Matt immediately scheduled his workers to return to my home with the appropriate material needed to complete the job. His workers were very kind and apologized for Matt's behavior and the misinformation given by office staff and the lack of communication. If you elect to use this company please do not pay your final balance until you are sure job is complete. That happened to me final payment was paid and job wasn't complete. read more

We had our patio put up the last 3 days and it is beyond fantastic. The installer, Hopper was very professional, friendly and a very hard worker, even with the hot temperatures. He cleaned up thoroughly after finishing for the day. He started on a Thursday and finished up on Saturday, which was surprising as we didn't think he worked on the weekend. They were rude and argumentative with me and threatened to cancel the job because I said I was unhappy that they showed up late and didn't let me know they were not going to be on time. The man who showed up to remove my old cover didn't even introduce himself or say hello, just came into my backyard unannounced. When I asked him questions about his work he got very annoyed and in a condescending tone said "do me a favor, let me do my job and when I'm done you can ask me questions". I would not recommend this company due to their customer service. Also, the electrical wiring and boxes were installed on top of the cover and are visible from the second storey of my house. I was not aware it would be installed like this. I realize I should have done my due diligence and asked about this and it's my fault that I didn't. Long story short - if you have a project I would recommend getting a quote from these guys. Long story long - I was looking for a patio cover to help get some shade in my backyard. I requested quotes from four different companies, all who provided their own insight into what could be done and what would work out best. Matt came out for the quote within a couple days and after reviewing all four quotes, I made the decision to go with Valley Patios. For the record, his quote had more amenities/options, but was the most affordable compared to the competitors. Matt also provided useful insight for me, like going for a fan installed into the cover instead of just recessed lighting as the fan would be cheaper and still provide enough light (it definitely did what I needed). There was a conservative estimated timeline of 5 - 6 weeks, which made sense due to procurement of materials and things like that. Once I made my vendor selection, Matt drew up the invoice and I got my deposit down to get the ball rolling. Matt is VERY good with communication. If there are any questions or concerns, he will address them in a timely manner. He kept me posted on the timeline regarding waiting for materials, waiting for the city permit, etc. His team is also very professional and they were able to build the structure itself in a day, with his electrician coming afterwards and installing the fan and an extra power outlet in the post for me. We did have a hiccup with materials being backordered, but with that conservative timeline, it was accounted for. In the end I've been enjoying a great looking patio cover with sun shades for the past week and it already made an enormous difference in my west-facing living room. I highly recommend Matt and his team for any future projects you may have. read more

David the estimator came out 2 times to do the estimate alone and Matt had to come back out to go over it again, they took weeks longer than quoted, the flaked multiple times and what was promised to be a 1 day install ended up taking over 2 days. Patio looked good when they finished but as I walked around and checked it out they left the biggest mess ever. Metal shaving and shards everywhere and I mean everywhere. Shortly after when it rained sent photos to Matt and was told "it's normal" but they'd send someone out to check it...that was in December! I reached out to Matt again after a heavy rain recently and sent photos showing the leak under the cover and a pan that collected the water to show the leak. No response and no update.
