Best contractor I have ever used! They removed the terrible patio cover that was installed in May 2023 and replaced it with a quality cover and excellent workmanship! The owner, Ely Ramos, came to my house three times so we could design the "perfect" cover for both rain protection and sunlight. We came up with a design that included "custom" modifications to meet my goals. The installers, Michael and Carlos, were terrific. I hired New Generation Construction (NGC) to build a min-ground pool, attached spa, patio cover and balcony. This was in a section of our yard on the side of our house which was more triangular shaped than rectangular. We knew it would be challenging to fit in everything we wanted. Ely Ramos, the project supervisor, was extremely helpful and engaged throughout our project. We knew more or less what we wanted but Ely took the time to make great suggestions as we went along. He suggested where to place our pool equipment behind and below where we moved the wall behind the spa. It's out of sight and can also barely be heard when the pump is running. NGC took the time to do things right the first time and gave us no problems if there were details that needed to be fixed. Any changes along the way were documented and Ely prepared a change order to bill the additional amounts. They arranged for all inspections and those were no problem either. Total project took about 8 months but it also gave us time to really think through what we wanted and make changes along the way. Ely pulled together all of the trades - excavation, pool framework, plumbing, electrical, concrete, etc. and organized all of them. Great value also! His original bid was the most reasonable of the three contractors I spoke to. I also tried to hire a separate pool company and then hire out the rest of the work. I'm not a construction manager. I needed a general contractor. I highly recommend NGC and would use them again. read more

Unfortunately I need to revise my review. Although initially I was very happy with the work NGC did for us their support after the job is awful. Less than a year after the work was completed, the patio cover settled so a crack developed and water began to leak. I made numerous calls and emails and all they did was tell me they would let me know when someone can come out to look at it. 6 months later still no one has shown up. Sucks that after I spent $25k with them they can't stand behind their craftsmanship, I was more than willing to pay for their technicians time. read more

I had this company replaced a patio cover with fans and extended 4 ft, it took more than 2 months to start this project, when they finally started, they threw the concrete on top of the pipe for the sprinklers , the pipe broke under the pressure my gardener noticed that the grass is completely dead, gushing water from under the Patio, had to pay to get it fix, water leaking when raining, after 10 phone calls someone came to spray something on it, I don't know if it worked it hasn't rained yet, fans didn't work every time I turned them on parts of the house had no electricity had 2 small freezers that I had to pay somebody to take away, everything went bad, again no answer finally after nagging he sent an electrician to fix The problem. Now they don't even answer the phone. By the way very expensive. I will not give them a one star. read more

New Generation was hired by us through our paver/patio contractor to build the patio and do the electrical for our entire backyard. They installed lights, a fan and heaters into the patio cover. They also installed a sub panel to feed the backyard electrical. They failed to increase the power to on the main to match the sun panel and this forced the main panel to over heat and shut down. They also did not properly install the heaters using 3 wires for a 5 wire install. When they realized that that they did not put the right breaker on the main, they took the breaker leaving my backyard with no power for the other trades for days. They eventually fixed the heater and that electrical. Making a long very long story short, I would not trust this company to work at my house again. They work on your project for a while then they all leave because one of them needs to pick up a check from another customer. They also have customers come to your house to drop off checks. I never knew who was at my house. now have to worry that the job is done correctly and a few years down the road the patio cover does not fail. Check other reviews on this company. read more

We found them through a neighbor and had him install vinyl fencing. Man, great job, fast, and clean. I decided to get a quote for a backyard makeover that was long overdue. Demolition (old wood patio cover) and haul away Alumawood covered patio (w/ lighting, power and 2 ceiling fans) A good amount of concrete patio Drainage (ditching and installation) Electrical (in a very hard to deal with location) Installation of an outside TV Every worker was polite, knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, hard working, skilled, on time and did a great job. Ely offered great advice, worked at a competitive rate, and the job looked better than I ever could have hoped for. I hired New Generation Construction on 01/17/23 to do total house renovation. As of this date 04/16/24 the project is incomplete. They stopped all work on 12/03/23. I am living in a construction zone. I have not heard from Eli even though he is aware the job is not complete. New patio roof with small nails protruding throughout the entire ceiling. New garage roofing with large nails protruding. Both patio and garage roof leaking. Eli aware with no attempt to fix. Workers unable to hook up new bath tub with leakage of water from the wall. No worker came back to finish the job. Workers cut off water line for outside and refused to fix. No water available for sprinklers. Kitchen and bathroom renovation incomplete. Open walls and floors in two bedrooms. Paid for floors to be refinished and not done. I paid Ely over $160,000.00 and my house is not finished with no attempt by Ely to complete. Ely only visited my home to get money or when called to have workers correct shoddy work. He never visit to make sure work was done correctly. Each time called shoddy work was not redone. Ely is not a good manager. He has workers who do not know what they are doing. He is very calm and nice in the beginning but once he receives your money he has no caring about your project. Do not be fooled by his quiet demeanor. Ely is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Take your projects to more respectable, capable workers, Ely is not. read more

I have contracted New Generation for a backyard remodeling and pool installation. Eli told me the entire project will take 4 months and they finished in 1 year. His employees are unprofessional and not qualified. They are trying to cut corners every single time. I had to remove the tiles from my pool and installed it myself since Ely told my his guys do not know how to install glass tiles. When it came to electrical the guy that did the plumbing tried to install/replace the circuit barkers in the main panel. The guy was clueless, he shorted my panel, melted the bracket and tried to hide it. I ended up hiring an electrician to fix their mistake. When they finished the pool we realized there was not an auto refill line to the pool. They had to dig a new trench and install a new pipe when my pool was already filled with water. Not to mention they observed every holiday that exist and some that don't. Every day they showed up to work late, around 9 30 am, took long lunch breaks and were the first to leave. They always left a mess behind, never cleaned the street or my driveway and used the pool for months as a trash hole. Ely was not reachable, he never answered his phone and made himself always busy. He never had the time to stop by and inspect the work . This entire nightmare lasted a full year. Very disappointed, I would not recommend this bunch of guys to anyone. read more

Ely was down to Earth and realistic when it came to the estimate for our floating deck that we were replacing. Other contractors quoted extremely high costs while others quoted low but then never responded back because they really didn't want the job. The crew of two were quick and did a great job. Husband and I had them do a small patio area for us. Stamped concrete floor and 4-ft redwood handrail around it. Pros: - Carpentry is beautiful. They built a redwood handrail and two gates for our back patio and we're really happy with it! - Everyone was friendly to work with. Cons: - Communication could be better between the foreman and his crew. We would set a plan with Ely and it wouldn't be communicated to the team. For example, we specifically asked for post bases for three posts under our patio and instead the posts were buried in concrete. - Communication could be better between company and customer. We were unsure when they would show, even if a set-upon time was agreed to and weather permitted. We got a lot of conflicting information between workers and secretaries. - Concrete crew was very messy. They did not protect our house, windows, sliding doors, or new hand railing before pouring cement. We have cement splatters on our stucco and window/door frames that we can't get off. They did not smooth out the outer side of the patio and it was difficult getting someone to come back to fix the cement chunks that were all along the outer edge. read more

Had them install a 10x14 patio cover in fall of 2015. Halo light burnt out within 1 week, came out and replaced it. Next fall rain arrived and I noticed water around 2 other halo lights and leaking. Both halo lights shorted out. Replaced halo lights again and both burnt out. Called them in early 2019 to find out about warranty, told me they would call me back, never heard from them again. Went up on the roof myself and used Thompson's sealant to cover groove lines where their sealants were disintegrating. Drains were another issue I addressed to them prior to installation, they didn't listen and assured me they wouldn't clog, wrong again. Me personally, I'll never use them again, I'm just saying buyer beware. read more

We hired New Generation Construction (NGC) to replace our deteriorating patio wood deck. The process was so simple with NGC from Ely coming over to review the current deck and providing us a quote along with samples of the Trek Transcend planks. Ely was friendly and frank, and did not try to be a "salesman" like other contractors, and their price was within our ballpark. It did take a while to schedule a time for them to come out--I assumed they were waiting for the planks to arrive or just busy--but Sergio and his crew came out one day and completed the whole deck, which I thought would have taken 2-3 days. The crew was friendly and did their work and confirmed the layout of the planks with me before applying it down. They cleaned the debris afterwards and came back the next day to pick up the rest of the debris. I really do appreciate NGC taking on our project because some of the contractors I contacted didn't even want the project stating "it was too small of a project for their business." All I wanted was to replace my deck so my family can finally use the deck, and NGC did it. New Generation gave me a very competitive quote to install a 8' patio addition and a 39' patio cover. They showed up when scheduled and the work was very good (passed stringent HOA approval). The original plans called for four support posts. The installers put in six. The patio has a view of the Saddleback Valley so the six posts kind of obstructed the view. They came out and corrected the problem, removed two of the posts (without jeopardizing the structural integrity of the patio cover), without charge and without hassel, even after being paid. They stood by their word. This is a reliable contractor. read more
