Top notch service and quality from company. The salesperson, Dan, listened to what I wanted then listed options for me to choose from. Dan later answered additional questions I had then adjusted quote. The installer, Carlos, looked at the actual site conditions then discussed various options (like spacing of posts, how far to set posts from edge of patio cover, where to put downspouts, etc.) with me beforehand. Every day, Carlos would keep me updated as to the work being done. Their electrical, Mike, installed the lights, outlets and controller exactly where(& how) I wanted them. It was not some "cookie cutter" install off a pre-set plan. Things were installed the way my family & I wanted. Brittany in office kept me updated on permitting process, scheduling, inspection, etc. Initially had company install a pair of attached to house, solid (& insulated) patio covers (at kitchen & by living room). Family was so pleased with finished patio covers that we had Rooms come back and install a 24' x 13' standalone, solid, insulated patio covers outside bedrooms. Carlos made all 3 patio covers blend together. Mike wired all the lights (8 in the initial patio covers & 8 more in the standalone patio cover) so that all are controlled be a single dimmer switch. Needed to have some concrete work done under the patio covers and nearby. Rooms' recommended concrete people, James Austin Concrete, did excellent work and coordinated with Rooms for minimum disruption to patio installations. Initially called 6 companies (all local 4 star+ on yelp) for quotes. Rooms was 1 of 2 that was willing to go through the permitting process with the City. A 3rd wouldn't give me a quote because I wanted the patio covers to be permitted. The other 3 companies said that because the existing wood, open lattice patio covers had been permitted (in 1989), a new permit was not needed. Don't believe them. Big difference between open lattice wood patio covers and solid, Alumun patio cover. Plus requirements change over time. Turned out that the required dimensions for the posts' concrete footings almost doubled in size (in all 3 directions). Getting a permit means everything is built to meet City requirements. Only downside is long wait (13+ weeks) for City to approve each of the 2 permits. Several neighbors have already asked about Rooms. Even the city's building inspector asked for Rooms contact info. He wants a patio cover(s) for his place and was impressed by the work Rooms did for mine. read more

Everyone, please be cautious when hiring this company for your projects. Over ten years ago, I hired them to build an open patio, followed later by a sunroom. When we signed the contract, they explicitly stated that their company provided a lifetime warranty. A few years later, the awning in front of the room began to leak, and I called them to come and repair it. Just recently--in fact, just last week--it started leaking again. I called them, only to be told that the original company had been sold to a new owner; consequently, if they were to come out and perform repairs, I would have to pay for the service. As a result, my "lifetime warranty" turned out to be completely useless. Now, I have to find someone else on my own and pay for the repairs out of my own pocket. I hired their "former company" named "Rooms 'N Covers" in 2016 to build a patio cover in my backyard and was told it comes with a 10 year warranty. Fast forward to today and when I called and spoke with Brittany for warranty service due to leaks sustained from the recent rains, I was told that "Rooms, Covers, 'N Solar" is a "completely different company" and will not honor the warranty by the "old company". I find it very peculiar that "Rooms, Covers, N Solar" despite being a "completely different company" still uses the same phone number and their website advertises as operating since 1972. They even still use the same yelp reviews from the "old company". Take their warranty claims with a grain of salt. They might simply change names just to get out of honoring their warranty. In response to the Business manager, Darren: Sure. "new company" (that advertises as being in business since 1972) and "different location" (moved 1000 ft in the same business park). Different name and logo (has the word "Solar" replacing "etc."). And I maintain I was told by the salesperson I had a 10 year warranty. Backstory: I had a new patio built by a contractor recommended by a BBQ Islands warehouse company from Ontario. The contractor built my patio cover with a duralum product and sloped the patio cover at only 1/8" per square foot for a total of only 4 inches with a 21 foot width. After 1 month of having it built, On Thanksgiving day when the rain hit, My patio cover had collapsed. The contractor did not want to fix it for free for his faulty construction. I had to go thru insurance to see if they would cover the replacement. I took many bids and felt most comfortable with rooms n covers. Price was at the middle of several price ranges. I went with them based on the license, bonded and guaranteed worksmanship they offer. Along with all the great reviews on yelp, i decided to go with them. Darren was the first contact that came out to see what was needed for the replacement job and provide us with the quote. The progress was day and night compared to the first time the patio cover was built. The Demo crew (forgot all 3 of there names )showed up early and demo'd in a few hours and left the place clean. The installation crew ( Carlos and Peter) showed up organized, early and left each day cleaning up keeping all the materials organized in locations and placing cones where possible hazards would be at for us to know. Communitcation was great with the whole team. The install of my 38' x 21' feet insulated cover took only 3 days with the electrician ( Raymond / forgot other guys name ) installing 10 leds on the final day. In comparison, the first time the patio was built, it took over 1 month, with the builder and his crew not showing up for weeks, making excuses for not showing up. They would also leave my patio and furniture dorty and stained with there tools and they even broke items without telling me. Everything was left clean everytime at the end of the day including after the entire install. It was discovered during the bids by all the companies that the patio was incorrectly sloped by the very first builder. It should have been a minimum of 7 inches of slope, not 4 inches (1/4"- 3/8" per sqft) not 1/8". Rooms N covers was such a stress free experience. I am very grateful for such a positive experience with them. The new install even makes the patio look so much nicer using less nuts and bolts and less cuts, that were previously exposed on the first build. read more

We just had our new alumawood patio cover installed, and it looks FANTASTIC. Thank you to our installers Jake, Joe and Art. They were here for 2 days of demolition and 3 days of installation. Their work is really great, and at the end of each day they left our patio and yard clean and neat. Excellent work, guys. Thanks also to roofer Tony and his son, who had to pretty much fabricate a section of clay tile where the roof was exposed after demolition. You would have to look closely to tell the new work from the original tile work. Great experience with this company. Having a showroom to actually see the different coverings, colors and light options was a huge plus and took a lot of the guessing away. We scheduled an estimate. Phil came out, was very knowledgeable and answered our questions and ideas for out layout. Due to the pandemic, it did take several weeks for the materials to come in, plus the permitting (we requested permits) took a long time to process through the City. Chris and Abel were our installers and were excellent. We had a last minute change, and they adapted our install right away, and even helped us cut a large branch that needed removal. They even hauled it away. They were friendly and did great work. For the fan and light install, we found the fan we wanted online and had it ready. After getting quotes from 4 different companies, we had Darren give us a quote for our large 50 x 11 patio cover with an Equinox over my barbecue island. Darren is very knowledgeable and easy to work with. His quote was very close to the other companies, so we signed a contract on 10/19. He did tell me that it would be about 4 months before they start. On 2/15 Tony and his crew showed up to start with some demolishen that need done before the patio could be installed. Tony was very professional and incredibly humble. He did some incredible work and cleaned up every tiny piece of trash. The following week the patio installer, Jose, showed up and started the installation. Jose was super easy to work with. He understands the importance of working with the homeowner, and discussed everything before he did it. I did point out a few small things that weren't just right. Jose did not hesitate or make any excuses. He just fixed it. In the end, Jose did an amazing job and seemed to take pride in his work. Next was the electrician, Daniel. He installed 2 fans and a bunch of lights. Daniel is perfect for this job, and really cares about the homeowners needs. He did not do anything before he discussed it with me. He is a bit of a perfectionist with any homeowner would love. Let's just say, he went above and beyond his expectations. My patio cover was finished on 3/9. I am very happy with my Alum-A-Wood cover and the Equinox. We did get some rain after it was done, and there are 2 small leaks. When I called to report this, Esteban actually showed up within the hour to address this issue. He told me when the rain stops and everything is dried out, they would return to fix the leaks. It's been a week now, so I expect to hear from them soon. As soon as my leaks are fixed, I will update this review and tell you how good their customer service is when something needs fixed. read more
