He gives it to you straight. No upselling, no trying to talk you into something you don't want. He listens to what you want, gives his advice and you end up with a nice patio cover. Mike and Sergio really know how to do a great job. The first day, they came in, took down the old patio cover and left the patio clean and free of debris. I found that amazing considering the amount of dried up wood and splinters that were raining down on them. They did save some of the good posts and beams as I had asked. When installation came, they took my wood! They did not completely replaced the rotting fascia, as I was told they would during the sale. There were some unfinished points that were corrected after several calls. The shades I had were not able to be reused because they were too heavy for the aluminum so Wilfred volunteered to run to Home Depot to get some. But...when I asked for the receipt I was told it would be e mailed, which never happened. After several calls and e mails. i finally went to Home Depot myself and found out he had charged me about double. I sent a message with pictures but still no answer. I am a senior person who trusted and was grateful. Very disappointing.

I picked a cloth that I liked and paid a deposit so they could start manufacturing the frames and awning cloths to fit. About three weeks later, I was given a date they would like to install the awnings and I agreed. Three weeks later, Mario said they were ready and asked if I was ready for install. All good. My wife and I were looking to replace the well-worn front gates for our recently purchased…read morefixer-upper. On one side of the house, the gate was broken and entirely detached from the latch. The gate on the other side was functional, but in serious need of a cosmetic upgrade that complemented our new garage door and gate columns. Many of the contractors we reached out to were unwilling to accommodate our design requirements. We really wanted wood-looking vinyl gates with an arched top to complement the rest of the house. Pro-Vinyl Fencing was the only contractor in the Thousand Oaks area willing to bring our vision to life. On top of that, their pricing was very reasonable and actually beat out several other estimates we received. David was our primary point of contact throughout the design process. He was extremely patient and went out of his way to accommodate all of our specific choices. The main reason we are taking off a star comes down to installation day. The installer (who was separate from David) installed the drop rod on the wrong side of the gate, requiring a second visit to correct it. We also suspect the installer contributed to a few scratches on the gates during the job. Beyond those hiccups on the installation side, we were thrilled with David's customer service, the affordability, and Pro-Vinyl's willingness to execute the exact material and arched design we wanted.

This company is not to be trusted. First off, my first one-star review has mysteriously disappeared! At the same time, I was locked out of yelp and had to reach yelp support to get back in. Obviously someone hacked into my account and deleted my review that Chuck tried to talk my husband into removing because it made his company "look bad." I use yelp a lot to find contractors and depend upon honest reviews. (although it has become clear that many reviews are phony, and a lot of manipulation is going on) I do believe that everyone deserves to know the bad points as well as the good in order to make their own decision. In short, my review was in regard to the lack of quality control. Chuck waited until after demolition and after the work was actually started to inform us that he had ordered wrong and we had to wait another week to complete the job. So no one double checked the order? This caused us great inconvenience, as well as the delay of other projects that were awaiting completion of the patio cover, which in turn is causing us problems with the city. The delay turned into two weeks, by the way. We felt that we should be offered some kind of compensation for the inconvenience, and Chuck didn't feel he owed us anything. He was rude and angry and kept saying "what is it you want, lady?" He finally offered $50. He later increased that to $200 after more problems arose, including the fact that we accidentally found out that he chose not to get a permit. His excuse was that we didn't request one!!! We made it very clear during his estimate that permits are required, and we asked what he charges and he told us; so obviously we assumed he included the price in the quote. We had to assume because, after telling him we wanted everything itemized, he still produced a contract with a lump sum; I told him that the price was a lot more than I had thought, and he just stared at me. Since we were under pressure to get our projects completed, we signed (BIG mistake!). But we did ask twice more for a breakdown of all the charges, and he ignored us. Finally, after finding out about his dishonesty regarding the permit, my husband pressured him for the breakdown, which he finally provided. We then learned that we were charged for every "free" item that we had discussed and that he lists in his ad!!! Be forewarned! I sent him multiple e-mails pointing out the discrepancies, and he played dumb and only addressed the fact that he made a mistake by charging us for 3 fans instead of 2 (no acknowledgment of the fact that the TWO fans were to be free) And get this.....he sent a message saying he had deducted the fee, but the total owed remains the same! Unbelievable! Sure enough, he manipulated the invoice so that while one fan price was deducted, the amount was added into the total of the patio cover itself, by raising the price per square foot! Since he would not discuss this matter,I subtracted the promised "free" items from the final payment; but we still paid way too much, $3,000 more than his advertised price for a patio cover that is only two feet shorter than ours. So far, the patio is fine, but the experience took away any appreciation for it. Do your own research and don't go by the highly suspicious excellent reviews and the lack of any negative ones. I wish I done more research. Maybe I would have noticed that this is the same company as Covers n' Gutters that gets very poor reviews. read more

Scam. Stay a way from them. Worse customer service ever. Very bad and cheap quality very bad installation. Make sure not to sign any thing. They are so fishy they put a contract to protect them self but they start give you lower price to sign and after sign they change measurements And they say the real measurement is not correct and the sale man is not responsible for measuring and they tell you , you should measure after us. and change cut and keep charge more and more and , they came for footing they did not ask us where to put the footing and they were lying that they knocked the door and they did not. and put very bad position and we asked to change because they install whatever they cut corners and my wife asked them to remove when they were wet and they refused They refuse every thing and charge for everything. They will find many way to play around and charge more. and they keep charge more. They play with words and everything and keep change and charge more and they PLAY WITH CONTRACT to always no responsibility and no honor any thing and they can keep change and increase with no issue with them and if you ask to stop they keep say every time will go to court. Very rude very bad. I requested them to come check it has safety and stability issue and they refuse. The owner came he was rude I talked to him by phone he listen only to himself he said I'm dumb and he was not professional just rude and bad words and when he came and I'm not here he was screaming at my wife and said we are liars. They are lying and denying everything not professional at all . They wil l find any way to charge extra. My installation day confirmed on July 16 then they sent a message that it might possible they can do it earlier on July first and they will confirm later. They sent a message later that they will come on July first. I told them it is short notice and you did not confirm and you said possibility so not confirmed and I want to keep my confirmed appointment on July 16. They said no you can't you have to do it on July first and if I want to keep my appointment for the confirmed day I have to pay 800. And again accusing me I'm that I'm liars. They will find any way to steal your money. They are scam they steal your many with also very cheap materials. And very rude and bad customer service. Take my review seriously or you will see and surely regret . I hate to put bad review for any one. But I got really hurt and damage with these people. Don't waste your money worse business. If you have been looking for a new patio cover look no further...My wife is an engineer and researched patio covers endlessly, she is very picky and it has been said that "She can find fly poop in a pile of pepper", ...we settled on Mr Patio cover...mostly because of value and we liked the idea that they were "Family owned"...The result of her research drew tus to the he conclusion that Aluminum patio covers are pretty much the same...We chose Mr Patio cover based on Price...but found out that it is the installation that makes all the difference...JR and Louis arrived at our home at 9:00am last Saturday...(A very Hot and Humid day), they worked all day with just one break for lunch. They were friendly, professional and welcomed any questions we had...the end result exceeded our expectations! I was a bit surprised that Chuck did not supervise the the installation but he was available by phone. After getting over 5 bids for Alumawood patio covers from all the top companies on Yelp and recommendations from neighbors, we decided to go with Mr. Patio Cover for both our cover and rain gutters. Chuck came out and explained everything, went over warranties, design, colors, etc. His company also demo'd our existing patio cover which was no small task. David did a great job. Rain gutters went in first after we had the house painted. Gutters did not get finished until after dark so was hard to inspect. After inspecting them, we did find several areas that were scratched up pretty bad. I contacted Chuck and he assured me it would be taken care of. On the day the patio cover was installed, Richard came back for the gutters as well. He took care of all the areas of concern and the look great! Patio cover is perfect. Two solid covers, fan, 3 post lights, flood light and double switch. I would definitely recommend Mr. Patio Cover to friends and clients of mine. The only reason I did not give 5 stars, was due to late shows on appointments. If you run late, just call and let someone know. Overall, great job, great company, great workers. read more

My patio cover was recently finished, passed by the city, and absolutely beautiful! The team led by Chuck, did an awesome job of completing the project as promised. The guys were friendly, professional, and cleaned up after themselves. As a homeowner with questions, I never felt as if I was "bothering" them- they answered my questions, and explained how and what they were doing. We had the combination of covered and lattice, and a neighbor shared with us that our covering was the, "talk of the neighborhood." Our 1950s home is uninsulated. We were in search of a Patio Cover to help keep bedrooms shaded and cool in our no tree backyard. After multiple estimates and consultations, we knew Mr. Patio Cover was our first choice and we asked for a contract agreement during initial meeting. There were no surprises, contract is extremely thorough with a variety of options. We had some concerns since our roof line is low and my husband is quite tall, however the height is more than adequate. We went with a lighter color ceiling in Maplewood and the post and beams in Siennawood. Great color quality and details with the Corbel cut rafters make for a stunning appearance and exceptional value with our patio cover. Their staff and installation are beyond excellent. I would hire Mr. Patio 10 times over and continue to recommend Mr. Patio to family and friends. Hayden made everything simple and easy when giving us our estimate and the building crew was so fast! From the initial sales meeting, setting dates, communication, payment processing, final install, we received courteous, professional and outstanding service. The owner, Eric, willingly came out after the install to address a potential issue with birds accessing a small opening near our house structure and the patio. The owner's son came out to give me a quote and he was very knowledgeable on what I could and couldn't do with my new patio cover. The pricing was in the range that I expected which is a breath of fresh air these days. They have a lot of promises, but delivered on all of them. The tear down of my existing patio was quick. We had both patio cover and gutters installed this last week. The patio cover color we picked matched the trim color of our house perfectly. The installers did a great job and didn't leave any kind of mess behind. The gutter color matched perfectly as well as the down spouts. We are very happy with the whole install from the free estimate to the final work done. We have already recommended Mr. Patio to friends and neighbors. A big plus is the lifetime warranty on the materials but also the lifetime warranty on the installation. I wish we had done this sooner!! read more
