I was not very impressed with the service I received going into Sun Auto Service. Generally, I drive up to a place, ask for an oil change, and leave 15 minutes later satisfied. Not this place. They told me they were completely booked (what?! there was not one car or person in there!) and turned down my service. The guy asked me if he could book me for some time after the holidays. I told him all I needed was a general oil change, nothing out of the ordinary. I was seriously perplexed at the response they gave me. They told me to try somewhere else as they were fully booked for the next week. I was seriously so confused, I've never heard of being turned down for a quick oil change. I give this place a 3 while they are very genuine and really make you feel confident that everything will be done properly for my first time the experience was not great I came in for a synthetic oil change which includes fluid and air filter check the issue I have is when I went to pay he informed me that everything was good with the exception of a very minor leak. Me having experience in this are encouraged me to check. now my car I have had for 2yrs and never had an oil change or anything so I was sure something was needed. First i looked at my fluid which were not topped off my air filter was very black so i purchased a new one and called the shop to inform them. Patrick asked me to come back so I did and to his discovery my finding were right. Patrick was great however I encourage people to always check for yourself. I was given a discounted oil change for my next visit but to be honest trust in service was lost so I'm not so sure I'll be back.good luck read more

Over time we have found it hard to find an auto repair shop that you can trust. That is honest and will take care of your car needs without overcharging you for something simple. But we have found that in SunAuto on St. Rose Parkway. We have come to love this auto repair shop. The guys here has now fixed 3 of vehicles. Brought my car in for its 65000 mike service to Sun Auto Service. Along with the maintenance I wanted them to check the noise that the engine was making. I worked with Randy Hansen and he advised that he would take care of it. Long story short there were a few problems and Randy explained the problems one by one and what needed to be done. My car is running great and they corrected all the problems. Sun Auto Service has my complete trust and are extremely honest. I will not take my care anywhere else to be service. read more

Big Time Rip Off!!! I took my car 2 weeks ago for a leaking power steering pump. The quote to repair is $1017.00. Because they said they have to replace the power steering pump, hose, etc... the cost of labor and parts is $1017.00. I took it to a different mechanic and they fix it for under $200.00 to replace the power steering pressure hose. Totally Rip Off. Don't take you car to this place. read more

I don't believe this shop is very honest and they over price. The mechanic that did my oil change was nice and efficient enough and was very nice to point out certain little things I needed done in my truck. I had JD give me prices on what it would cost to do some of the things I needed. I went and compared at other shops and I did all the needed items for at least 50% off. I also think some of the mechanics are lazy and forget to finish the work. Like my maintenance light was not turned off after job done. I don't believe I will go there again. Had my Jeep in for some pretty extensive work and could not be happier with the service I received. I just moved to the area and was pretty worried about finding an honest and reasonable shop to take my cars. I have been going to Sun Auto on Stephanie for the last 4 years and had one very bad experience. I did write a review as I think it is a very useful tool when inquiring about businesses you have not used/went to before. When the GM of Sun read my not so good review of the Stephanie location he immediately called me to discuss further which in my book is stellar customer service and shows how much he cares about his customers. He set me up with Sun Auto on St Rose and said my first oil change was on him! I got my first oil change at that location this weekend and I have to say every single encounter with the staff there was pleasant and very helpful. They even burn candles inside the waiting room so it doesn't smell like an auto shop! Not to mention it is very clean. I came here for a 2nd opinion on my brakes after finding them on Yelp with great reviews. Another place had told me my brakes were bad and causing damage to my roters. After the guys at Sun Auto inspected them, they confirmed what I thought... there was nothing wrong with the brakes or the roters. We then had them check out some other issues we knew we had with our 2nd vehicle. It was $4000 in repairs, but we knew it was all work that needed to be done and we felt comfortable with their great customer service. We had the work done on 2 separate days and both days my husband had to work so I needed a ride back to pick up the car. They were able to come pick me up at my home, which was so helpful and so appreciated! read more

I had been having trouble getting my 2008 Dodge Caliber to start, thought it had a short in one of the cables. I was going to replace it myself, but after further inspection, i decided it was best if i took it somewhere. Took it to Sun Auto on St Rose, ( next to Cane's), told the guy that i needed a new cable, but it was the short cable, he said let me go see what you are talking about. He took one look at the cable, moved it, and said oh it just needs tightening, went and got his power screwdriver, and did just that. I thanked him for being very honest.( Sorry forgot his name). When I called here shortly after they opened, the man who answered the phone basically laughed, saying of course they could help me! I took my car in for an oil change a few months ago. During my wait, I asked if they change out light bulbs. They said they do free of charge (non- headlight bulbs). So I was pleased to hear that and gave them the approval. I drove to CA immediately after the visit. My uncle was cleaning my car and as he's wiping down the inside of my hood, he tells me I have a screw just sitting on top of my engine cover. I didn't see where it belonged and just decided to hold on to it. A few months later I take my car for oil change somewhere else and as soon as the mechanic pops my hood, he pointed out that I had a missing coolant reservoir cap. He helped me call nearby auto part stores but none of them carried the cap. Anyway, after examining the area of the coolant reservoir, it was very wobbly. I then saw that it was not screwed to the body. Then I recalled the screw my uncle found. I looked further and noticed, in order to change out the bulb, this had to be unscrewed and moved. So, I knew then that the gentlemen that worked on my car at this place didn't put my parts back properly. I had to order the cap ($30!!!) from the dealer. What pisses me off is the potential damage this could've caused. Let alone the safety of me and my son. I was at risk at over heating! I drive to CA with my toddler quite often and we could've been stuck in the desert. Luckily, I still had coolant in the radiator but the reservoir was pretty empty. I wouldn't care so much if it was my windshield wiper cap. I called the shop and spoke to JC/JD. He offered to reimburse the cap expense. Be cautious and make sure you inspect your car if you ever go here. read more

Based on the reviews I thought this would be a good shop. THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS. Went in for a check engine light. They told me I needed an oil change that the oil was dirty. I had my oil changed a week prior. They told me I needed a radiator flush. I had a new radiator put on 2 months prior. Then they charged me 322$ to reattach a hose!!!! These people will try very hard to take advantage of you. Don't trust them. read more

Always tries to upsell me on flushes, etc. Several hundred dollars to "fix" leaks in power steering, and never stopped leaking. Said it couldn't be bad parts etc., but bring it back in if I wanted to. Another car had loud belt or gear noises, never could fix it, but charged anyway. I will look elsewhere. read more

I stopped in a fourth time for a last minute headlamp bulb change. I only needed 1 bulb and they 1 bulb leftover from another job. Very nice and professional. they replaced my needed part and my check engine light came on again right after (frustrating, but it happens), so I was able to bring it right back and they replaced a couple hoses to that part and it took care of the problem. it is working great now. highly recommend. read more

I don't usually give reviews but my experience here was seriously infuriating. I got a 10am appointment. I asked how long would the service take and was told an hour. So I left since it was just a walking distance and was planning to come back after an hour. Then I got a phone call saying something needs to be done with the radiator so I said go ahead and do it and was told it would take about 1 1/2 hrs. I came back 3 1/2 hrs later and guess what... they have not started on my car and had to wait for 1 1/2 hrs more. I have a toddler waiting for me at home! The person at the front desk didn't even apologized for the inconvenience and even told me that I should have just told him what time I need the car. Seriously??! I spent most of my Saturday waiting for my car with a $400 bill and messed up my entire schedule. That's good customer service??? read more
