Ok service. A lot of up sales and suggestions that you might think are good ideas but it's only to increase the bottom line. Most things aren't critical. I had to make a four day ahead appointment for a simple oil change that took approximately and hour to do. Most places that I've had service with was no appointment and out in 30 minutes or less. This is my first visit to Sun Auto Service today. I just love when you are greeted at the door and made to feel like you are an important customer to a business! I needed a lube and oil change for my vehicle which was very reasonably priced. When this service was completed, the gentleman explained to me what services I will be needing at certain mileage points that my vehicle is reaching to insure if something were to go haywire, my extended warranty would cover it. Honest, trustworthy, respectful. I called to price a potential repair on my car. This was the only place (out of several) that would give me an estimate on the phone: all I wanted was ball-park, they gave me the information. Luckily, it ended up being a battery connection issue, but their treatment of me stayed with me. They take appointments for oil changes and honor them! If walk-ins come in, they have to wait. I have made appointments at a dealership and at another chain repair shop and waited hours (3 1/2 one time) because my appointment was not honored over walk-ins (that arrived before my appointment time, thus bumping me). They do not bump appointments, so you know your car is going in when you arrive. read more

My car failed a smog test because of a leak so I took it to Sun Auto Service to get it checked out. They kept the car for a day and ultimately told me that there was no problem and didn't even charge me the fee for the diagnostic tests. I really appreciate their honesty and help with this matter. Went twice to do an oil change in which both times when oil change service were due months apart I ask them the check my brakes because I heard some grinding. They told me that they checked the brakes and the brakes had about 50% left. I took my BMW to another place and they told me that my brake pads are practically gone and had dug into the rotors. $650 later. I'll never service my car with this company again and I wouldn't recommend anyone do so either. When I take my car to an auto service w money in had prepared to pay I expect that service to be done. Not pay for it later when money is tight. Last time I'll give new guys a chance. read more

I'd be giving a single star review for this shop, but they have perfected the nice guy act so well that I have to give credit where it's due. I almost fell for it, too, especially when they "sympathized" with my poor experience at Purrfect Auto. I took my car in the day before Thanksgiving because my 2015 Chevy Cruze with only 36k miles had a check engine light go on. They couldn't look at it then and there, so they asked me to bring it back after the holiday after "confirming" with GM that my car was out of warranty. They assured me that it would be cheaper to have it repaired by them rather than the dealership because I was no longer covered. I took my car back Saturday morning and they were able to confirm that the turbocharger was underboosting and also discovered that my water pump was leaking and quoted me.... $2600?! It sounded sketchy so I googled both parts which totaled to a cost of $650 (without warranty)... so I was expected to pay $1800 for labor on six hour job? I think the f**k not. So my next course of action was to call the dealership again to verify that those parts were out of warranty and guess what? They weren't. At all. Nice try, guys. And I only wished they would have tried to ask me to pay a diagnostic fee so I could have really given them a piece of my mind. They didn't, but that won't stop me from letting Yelpers know that this place is a trap! Do your research and don't fall for JD and Patrick's nice guy act! read more

I've taken three vehicles here for repair for a couple of years now. They have fixed a couple problems and I kept going. I took my truck in to have some engine work done a while back and it started cutting out when I turned sharply leaving me in a couple risky situations driving. I had to take a day off work just to get it in to find out they hadn't hooked part of The wiring harness up and it was pulling and shorting when the wheels turned. They fixed it no charge so I was only out the hassle of taking it in and loss of work. I get that happens once in a while so I kept going. I just had my Jetta in there and they said it had two vacuum leaks It had a engine light on right away after the last time I had the valve cover gasket fixed but I couldn't afford to take it back in if more needed to be done.1,150 dollars later they said it's fixed and they checked with smoke test no more leaks. Next time it starts it's showing the code in my ODB 2 sensor same problem. I check under the hood and three vacuum hoses aren't plugged in all the way. These plug down into three different plastic Valves and could not have popped out on the way home as the person in the phone stated he thought. There was no way they smoked it again for leaks without noticing this so it stands to reason it's not true. The person on the phone said the guy is a Master mechanic and "in the two weeks he has worked there he has never seen him not smoke it again". Then he said sorry about that and have a nice day. I wouldn't take any of my vehicles here again. I have receipts and pictures to prove this is all fair and true.I can post them if necessary. read more

At first I thought they only take online appointments but when I called they were more than willing to take a walk-in to replace battery, terminal, wires etc. I use to take the car to the dealership regularly for "check ups". It wasn't until my car wouldn't start that I realized a ridiculous amount of corrosion has built up on my battery and terminals. Let's just say the place is efficient, especially just overhearing how they speak to other customers as well. You can tell this is the go-to auto repair place within the community with the amount of calls they receive. Will highly consider taking the car here for future scheduled tune-ups vs. the lax job the dealership has been doing. Just one criticism , they deserve to have non-slam doors in their offices near the waiting room that match the their excellent customer service. read more

Dont waste your money with these guys. They will play nice at first, that JD guy and Patrick. They wont fix your car, unless you pay an extra $5,000. Even then, theres still a possibility it wont be fix. I paid almost $3000 for my check engine to be removed, and still nothing. I went to BMW only, the check engine light is gone and i just paid $700. Never again. Also that Patrick guy is LIAR! He told he replaced my batter with a new one, turns out he lied. My uncle is a mechanic and when we looked at it, its the same one from 7 years ago. That's malpractice and lying. He should get fired. read more

After receiving a reference from another satisfied client, I took my car to Sun when my car started rattling. Patrick helped me. He was pleasant and professional and took my car in right away. He went over the issue slowly and even brought me in the back to show me the issue and explained how it happened and what was needed to fix it. I never experienced that before and was very impressed with their commitment to client satisfaction. Just as a comparison, another garage in the same neighborhood wanted almost $100 just to do a diagnostic evaluation of the issue. $100 before they even told me what was wrong. I'm writing this review not because they did a great job with their service... They didn't even do any service. But what they were was honest. I brought my car in to have the alignment and brakes checked as they were shaking at high speeds. They checked the alignment and said it was perfect. They checked the brakes and said that the rotors were a little bit warped but that we had had 90% life left on them and that if we can handle the shaking it's not hurting the car. He recommended doing nothing and sent us home without collecting a dime. He said he would've loved to sell us brakes but wanted to do right by us and the car.
