I took my car to them because my dashboard lights went out, which I explained to DEVIN at the front desk (neve r seen him before) but no the less I was not worried.... until DEVIN called and I quote "Calling to get your permission to fix your hose" .... Me:???????? DEVIN, "yes, your hose(coolant) needs to be replaced because it's missing" Me: when did it go missing? did it evaporate, I JUST dropped it off. and dhow much will MY permission cost???? DEVIN: $1300 and that doesn't include the Labor. Me: well, you guys usually send pics to my email detailing what needs to be fixed and what was discovered. DEVIN: well, for some reason we can't get the car started to do a diagnostic, and if you can't afford it I can send you a link for apply for a loan, it gives you 90 days to pay it off, which should be enough time for you, or you can come with a tow truck. Long story short, I DID NOT give DEVIN permission to have the work done on my car. and when I arrived my car was magically sitting out of the garage with my COOLANT HOSE DETACHED FROM THE COOLANT TANK!!!! WHICH WAS NOT DEATACHED WHEN I DROPPED IT OFF!!!!! AND I WAS STILL CHARGED FOR A DIAGNOSTIC $224.00 AFTER DEVIN TELLING ME THAT THEY COULD NOT DO ONE!!!!!! NO MORE SUN AUTO FOR ME!....EVER!!!!!!!! :( p.s. doesn't even deserve the 1 star.

    I found this place looking for a smog check place close to the salt room. The one right across the…read morestreet had a lot of bad reviews and in one bad review it said to go to this place instead! Thank God I read reviews! When I got there the smog check was pretty fast. They also found that my engine mounts were loose and the engine was bopping up and down when shifting from drive to reverse. Which I had noticed before a clunk when shifting but when I had asked my old mechanic he said everything looked fine. I was glad I wasn't imagining things and they confirmed my anxiety about that. They also found that the transmission fluid needed to be replaced. Needless to say I got all of it fixed as my car is a 2004 and I'm trying to make it last forever. I am so grateful this place found this issue and what that movement was. I double checked with chat gpt on the price range and it said it was good price so that was also reassuring that they weren't trying to rip me off because I'm a girl. Only thing was they said it would only take 2 hours (I was on a time crunch) and it took 3 Hours. Micah was at the front desk, hutch was the one that found the issue, and Angel was the one that worked on my car. All great. But then... two days later...so there is still some movement when I shift from drive to reverse, it's better but not by much, and they also left off my hubcap from my tire, AND they didn't charge me full amount they were supposed to so they were calling me non stop to get the rest of it. I finally called back when I was not working all day and I would've paid the rest regardless, even though it was not my fault because I am a firm believer in karma, but when I asked about the hubcap missing I heard the tech guy in the background say that there was not one on there when I brought in my car. Not true! Because I remember watching them work on my car and when it was lifted and they put my tire back on, I remember looking at it to make sure they put the hubcap back on, but then I forgot because of the other things. Then Hutch found it, of course, and so when I went back, I got my hubcap back. But I don't like liars. So the Tech lied about my hubcap. When I double checked the engine after they were finished in the beginning I also had the Tech there and asked him where the cap was to the windshield washer fluid container. He said I never had one there. That was also BS because I check that all the time. A minute later I found it off to the side. It was still hooked, but it wasn't put back on. So they literally LIED to me twice and I caught them red-handed. I do not like being lied to and I don't appreciate it. That doesn't look good. We will tell you that things are already missing when you brought it in, when they aren't. So take a picture of your car and your engine before you give it to them! Also how unorganized that those things happen. I would've given them a five rating anyway if the tech hadn't lied twice to me about the missing hubcap and the windshield washer fluid container cap. Don't lie. But they did get me two oil changes free of charge for the future for all my troubles.
