Highly recommended auto service in the Henderson area. The gentlemen at the front are very easy to talk to and they work very hard to gain trust. I've been to this location several times in the past two months starting from oil change to necessary car repairs. I have an older vehicle and can safely say I can transition from the dealer to this location. I did have some leaking of oil after some work but this was easily recovered as they brought me in the next day and even compensated me for the issue. The price seems to be competitive compared to other places. As someone who doesn't know cars, I can sure say I felt heard and understood here. Paul and Devin were especially helpful. Disappointed and frustrated with my experience at Sun Auto. I went to Sun Auto for a wheel alignment that wasn't done correctly the first time. This was my third time coming back to have the same work redone. Each time, I waited at least 2-3 hours, only to find that the alignment still wasn't done properly. During my last visit, I had an appointment specifically to redo the alignment. After two hours, I came back to check on my car and was told that it hadn't even been touched. At that point, I decided to walk away and take my business elsewhere. After multiple visits, long wait times, and an appointment that wasn't honored, I'm extremely disappointed with the service and lack of respect for my time. read more

I took my car to them because my dashboard lights went out, which I explained to DEVIN at the front desk (neve r seen him before) but no the less I was not worried.... until DEVIN called and I quote "Calling to get your permission to fix your hose" .... Me:???????? DEVIN, "yes, your hose(coolant) needs to be replaced because it's missing" Me: when did it go missing? did it evaporate, I JUST dropped it off. and dhow much will MY permission cost???? DEVIN: $1300 and that doesn't include the Labor. Me: well, you guys usually send pics to my email detailing what needs to be fixed and what was discovered. DEVIN: well, for some reason we can't get the car started to do a diagnostic, and if you can't afford it I can send you a link for apply for a loan, it gives you 90 days to pay it off, which should be enough time for you, or you can come with a tow truck. Long story short, I DID NOT give DEVIN permission to have the work done on my car. and when I arrived my car was magically sitting out of the garage with my COOLANT HOSE DETACHED FROM THE COOLANT TANK!!!! I'd gone there for ac, timing chain, ext. I've had 2 whole ac units changed sub 2k The last one I went for ac service on a car they did a whole change on before. And ended up paying over 3k for some kind of hose for the system. That doesn't make any sense. I've done 2 whole systems for less than 2k each and the last one was a hose and of course the recharge and yada yada yada. 3k+. If I could give this place zero stars I would! I brought my car in for a diagnostic and was told it was free unless they did a deeper inspection and was also told that if I was charged for the diagnostic the charges would be applied towards the cost of repair. I agreed and was told that it was my starter and it would be over 1,000 dollars to be fixed and that he (Paul) wasn't able to do a deeper inspection because my car wouldn't start. I initially said I couldn't afford the cost and would pick it up. I was quoted 222 dollars for diagnostics that was supposed to be free. I gave a call back and agreed to have the repairs done but I would need to pick up my car later in the week. They agreed and Paul left me a voicemail stating my car was "running like a champ" fast forward to me picking up my car and IT WOULDN'T START! I quickly go inside to tell the man sitting at the front (Devin) after I just paid and was told that they would jump my car and check the battery. The mechanic non-chalantly says "oh yeah it wouldn't start earlier" why wasn't I told this earlier? He says my battery is completely dead and needs to be replaced. I go inside and am confused because in the almost week they had my car after repairs no one informed me, I was told my car was fine for pick up. I understand a bad starter can ruin a battery but I was not told anything. Devin was awful, cold and unaccommodating. He quotes me another 200 dollars!! I said that I couldn't afford barely afford these repairs! He says I can apply for a loan and I said I'm rebuilding my credit and he said it isn't credit based, I was denied because of my credit....Devin coldly tells me that he can give me an invoice but wouldn't do anything. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE! They are over priced, rude and scammers. I am so appalled.l and disgusted. I have to edit this already to say after going elsewhere to get a new battery my car was hesitant to start. I barely made it home before my car completely died again and will not start. Brought my 2019 Nissan Armada in for a simple oil change and had a really frustrating experience. I supplied everything myself 7 quarts of oil, oil filter, and cabin air filter. They later called claiming I was "one quart short" and charged me $21 for an extra quart. When I picked up the car, I questioned it because 7 quarts is more than enough for this vehicle. First I was told I only brought 6 quarts. Then the story changed and I was told my 5-quart jug was actually only 4 quarts which makes no sense. I pulled up my AutoZone receipt showing it was clearly a 5-quart container, and at that point it was obvious they were backtracking. No real apology, no proper refund just an awkward attempt to hand me a random 3/4 of a quart of oil and offer a "free oil change." On top of that, the service took way too long. I dropped the car off at 9 AM, came back at 11, and it still wasn't ready. I ended up waiting even longer while dealing with all of this. They also tried to upsell me on things that weren't actually wrong including telling me my battery was bad when it isn't. I'm very familiar with cars i've completely rebuilt a car myself, so it was clear they were just throwing out issues to see what would stick. To make matters worse, they didn't even reset my oil service reminder or top off the windshield washer fluid basic things that are standard with an oil change. Overall, this felt dishonest and unprofessional. If you don't know cars, I'd be especially cautious, this is the kind of place that will tell you whatever they think you'll believe. read more

Update: Took my car in for an oil change a couple of months ago- and I'll never go back. They said the car needed $4900 in repairs, including new tires. The tires are less than three years old, and they only had about 15,000 miles on them. There were several other parts they said needed replacing, and it was total BS. This is a 2015 Prius with only 50,000 miles on it. The guys who were there when I wrote the review 7 years ago are no longer there. I don't know what happened to this shop, but they lost a very loyal customer. read more

i went in to try and see what was wrong with my passenger door since it hadn't been opening for some time. after an inspection they told me it would cost about $1,100 dollars to fix. i declined. all they did was remove the panel off my car door (which they didn't put back on) and still charged me $150 after not receiving any help toward fixing my car door. after i went home i did some inspecting myself and figured out all it needed was a new door handle. so i did they job myself at home for less than $50 in about 20-30 minutes. i dont appreciate trying to be swindled for $1,100 when really it was less than a $50 job. going forward i wouldnt even trust this place to tell me what color my car is. read more

Watch out for the scammer DEVIN KELLY! He was incredibly rude and charged me $750 for repairs. He neglected to properly inspect the A/C initially, then later claimed multiple additional repairs were needed trying to charge another $2,000 from me. During the first check, he said, "It's leaking gas and not cooling; fix that, and the A/C will work 100% starting today!" But six hours later, he said, "The A/C isn't working; I'll look at it again tomorrow." When I returned the next morning, he said, "Real quick!" but then asked for "Give us one more hour I can fix it." After more than an hour passed, I asked DEVIN KELLY again, and he said it "MAYBE take more couple hours." . I was very patient, but had wasted time and money; when I asked what was actually happening with my car, his only response was repeatedly saying "MAYBE" He was arrogant and never once apologized for inconvinience to me only showed me rude his behavior. He failed to provide proper explanations, gave quotes for repairs unrelated to the A/C issue, asked for a "yes" or "no" on repairs without stating the price, and suddenly demanded I sign the credit card reader without showing me any paperwork. For anything beyond the initial $750, I insisted on seeing the documents and confirming exactly what I was signing before doing so. This shop is terrible and certainly not worth $2,000, so I decided to get the repairs done at a major service center instead. I was appalled by Devin Kelly's attitude. He lacks education, has terrible customer service skills, and has no professional business manners. He needs to learn. read more

I am looking for a repair shop to fix my car's ac system. Checked out the recent reviews for Sun Auto and was surprised how bad they were. My last visit at this Sun Auto location was 3 years ago for good reason. After that visit to have my car checked for routine maintenance, I discovered they failed to put air in all the tires. The tires were 4 pounds under pressure and they remained 4 pounds under pressure after I picked up the car. Never has a mechanic failed to check the air pressure during the decades of auto maintenance for me. What's more, the new battery I bought there failed after a few months. But, that's not all. The free replacement battery they gave me failed within a few months also. Didn't get the quality batteries I should have received. I am sorry I didn't bother leaving this poor review 3 years ago. But, I don't want to mislead Yelpers with my 2020 5-star review and not update it. Things apparently have changed. read more

BEWARE OF UPSALES AND MANAGMENT!!! I brought my car into Sun Auto for a misfire on Cylinder 2 and paid $100 for their diagnosis. I was told by Mr. Land at the front desk that the issue was coolant inside Cylinders 1 and 2, and that I would most likely need a whole new engine. He explained their process as checking spark plugs, then spark plug wires, and if those are good, moving on to possible issues like a cracked head, blown head gasket, or cracked block. Based on this, I was quoted around $8,000 for an used engine replacement with 59,000 miles, which is more than my car is worth. This diagnosis left me stressed for over a week, thinking I'd either have to put a new engine in a car that wasn't worth it or buy a new car altogether. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion from another shop. The difference was night and day. The second shop immediately showed me that the only issue was faulty spark plug wires. They even demonstrated the arc from the wire to the head and let me use a borescope to inspect the cylinders myself. There was no coolant in the cylinders at all. Sun Auto not only misdiagnosed my car, but their claim that the spark plug wires were "fine" was completely false and is confirmed through my diagnosis paperwork that was emailed to me from Sun Auto. When I confronted Adam, the acting manager, he said he would stick with Sun Auto's diagnosis unless I provided the name of the other shop. He mentioned he would speak with his district manager about a possible refund, but ultimately refused because they would have had to consult with the second shop that fixed my car to in order to validate that the car was truly fixed after their diagnosis. And when I confronted them about Sun Auto's failure to properly diagnose the spark plug wires in the first place, all I was told there was "nothing they could do." To be fair, I don't necessarily believe this was just a simple mistake by the technicians. I believe this reflects a lack of integrity by the shop, especially when customers are at the mercy of a shop's diagnosis and basing their decisions on that information. If I hadn't had previous experience in the automotive industry, and if I hadn't sought out a second opinion, I could have been pressured into spending thousands of unnecessary dollars on a problem that was as simple as replacing spark plug wires. Management should be focusing on honesty, training, and customer trust, not standing by false diagnoses or hiding behind excuses to avoid refunds. In short: Sun Auto misdiagnosed my car. They attempted to push an $8,000 engine replacement when the real fix was a simple set of spark plug wires. Their staff and district management were defensive and refused accountability. This was less about error or getting my money back and more about upselling at the customer's expense. I cannot recommend Sun Auto. If I had not gotten a second opinion, I would have spent thousands unnecessarily. For anyone considering this shop, please reconsider or at the very least get a second opinion if you feel like they are trying to upsell you. read more

My wife took our car here ONCE in a pinch. Never had an issue with any prior services at the dealer. After getting it back for a simple oil change the oil plug was stripped, a lug nut was missing from a wheel, liner inside the hood was missing 3 clamps and hanging down and the oil itself was over filled. From never having an issue (it's a Subaru) to having 4 random issues spells TROUBLE. DO NOT ISE THIS PLACE. It put out small kids safety at risk and I'm livid. read more

And was happily met with the guys in Sun Auto, they inspected my tires and diagnosed that I needed new TPMS sensors and even though I ended up not buying it from this shop because I'm visiting out of state, I really appreciated their professionalism and friendly service to help someone out. I am very disappointed been going here for years to get my oil changed took my car and recently was told that I needed the 60,000 mile maintenance package, which is true. I did need that but was also told that one of my left rear struts was leaking. I took my car for a second opinion at a lower cost because they wanted 5,000 to do all the maintenance and the struts only to find out that my struts were not leaking and I have pictures to prove that they're not leaking Very very disappointed nothing worse than having a dishonest Mechanic shop read more

To preface, I don't typically use this location as there is one up the road from my house. But, Sun Auto on St Rose Pkwy is definitely my new favorite! Called ahead to make sure we could drop in for an oil change and check up. Was greeted over the phone by a very enthusiastic worker who happily told us to come on in! Expecting it to be a few hours per usual at other locations we had two cars to go take care of other errands in the area while our car was in the shop. Our tech, Sheldon, was very quick and thorough. He went above and beyond to make sure we left the establishment confident in our vehicles condition. Although no additional services were needed at this time he still took a moment to let us know what will be needing servicing soon. It's these kinds of moments that make me think "WOW! Sun Auto on St Rose Pkwy......They misquote, they tell you the cost and double it after they do the diagnostic. Charlie is very hard to deal with. He's condescending and arrogant!! He changed all of the prices after diagnostic and when I told him not to do the work, he still charged me for the diagnostic.They wanted to charge me $1142.00 for 1 axle, just rear brakes after he originally quoted me 600.00, only if I needed rotors, which I don't believe I did! He added things to the work, that was not mentioned in the original quote. These people are crooks. I will never go back there again!! read more

I was a customer for many years. Oil changes and other minor issues. They had (and mean HAD) always been honest. However, I will never return due to their incompetency and mainly dishonesty. I don't know what happened but I can't express my utter disgust with Sun Auto. About a year ago I had a backyard mechanic do a few things to my new to me 2016 Mercedes. I did not ask but he changed the headlight bulbs to brighter white ones. But the right headlight never illuminated the road correctly. So, I brought it to the place I thought I could trust - Sun Auto. They diagnosed the issue as needing a new headlight assembly for about $1,000 along with labor of over $300. So this would cost me just north of $1,400 with tax. I did some research and found an aftermarket price for the assembly of $400 and a mobile (real) mechanic who agreed upon $200. When the mechanic came to my house I left him with my car. 15 minutes later he texted he was finished. The actual issue was the guy who put in the bulbs was clearly an idiot and put the right one in upside down. My mobile guy fixed this. He told me he didn't want anything close to $200 but I paid that because I hired him to correct the problem. I did contact Sun Auto main office and after several tries, heard from their area manager, Sean. I told him what happened and how I was out $200 for labor and about $100 to ship the part back. He then said he'd contact the store to get their side of the story. Bottom line is he said a check for $300 was being requested to reimburse me for the cost of "fixing" the issue that apparently their mechanics were too stupid or too dishonest to correct. It's now been 13 days since the check was promised but I've received nothing. Nor have I heard back about this. And yes, I have asked. In 2019, I recommended the shop and returned a number of times with both our cars. As the raven said, "Nevermore." read more

I took my car there for alignment service on 3/8/2025. They pull it up on a lift and manager comes back and shows a picture on his cell phone saying there a hole in a plastic somewhere near by the tire and tire requires alignment. I agreed to the service despite my better judgement. They showed no alignment specs and numbers to show it does require alignment. After 30 minutes manager comes back manage comes back and says it is done. I asked to see the numbers. He said it will be mailed out in bulk email to customers at night. This was a bullshit response. But at that time, I had paid for the service, so I left. Sure, enough there was no email from them. My car still showed alignment problem as it veered off to the side. I took my car to Firestone and I got a computer reading of the alignment numbers before and after the service. Sun Auto is a scam. In my case I don't even think did the service. They just kept my cat for 30 minutes and charged me 150 bucks. I would not take my car there anymore. Be wary if you decide to have your car service there. read more
