Been coming here for years and always had better experiences here than the dealership service center...until now. Recently brought in my wife's BMW X1 4 cylinder, as as it was running rough. Their diagnosis is that it needs new spark plugs and ignition coils and quoted me $1200. When questioned, they said it would be a little over $300 in labor. The rest was parts and guarantee. I found the OEM parts online for $150 and it will take me 1 hour to change the spark plugs and coils. Highway robbery. Paid the $200 diagnostic fee and took the car home. Can't say enough good things about this shop. The manager Wes was professional, empathetic, patient, KNOWLEDGEABLE and HONEST. I called for a second opinion and he offered a thorough diagnostic. He explained to me in detail the current issues, even going as far to research warranty defects and inform me of them. Car issues are mentally and financially draining but he gave me all of the right information and next course of action. I was able to do my own research and speak more knowingly on the issues once I brought it to the dealership. The codes they provided matched the dealerships findings. My car was had some problems while driving. Left it there to do a $180 diagnostic test, a couple of hours later I get a text and call with a whole list of recommendations. None of which was the actual problem. They did state that my filter was dirty and I should change it which they did. I ended up picking my car up $400 later. Turn my car on and noticed my check engine light was on which when I dropped it off it wasn't on. Stopped by Autozone to see what it was for. Apparently I need a New Mass Airflow sensor! Which was NOT on the diagnostic list they gave me. I feel like I was robbed! After looking at the receipt I noticed the filter was $40, They charged me almost $160 for the labor.. $400 and the issue with my car wasn't even listed on the long list of recommendations, almost $5500 worth of recommendations. I was recommended by Carmax to go to Sun Auto because they are honest and I've gone to other locations and no problem. This location though.... I Don't feel comfortable with them working on my car! I feel like they saw a perfect opportunity to take advantage of a woman who knows nothing about cars and tried to make a quick buck. Ladies look elsewhere!!!! read more

If you go to a different, 2G mechanic then the amount of money put in to fix the car can waive the smog test meaning you'll only pay about $450. Now I'm $1700 deep to fix for a smog test. This location is over priced and double charge for labor on services that go together for example changing spark plugs and coils they estimated two different labor prices for each item. I have warranty which I knew did not cover any regular maintenance services but out of the laundry list of items that they said I needed done for diagnostic they ONLY submitted two items to warranty to determine coverage. $9000 worth of repairs !! Spoke with another mechanic who stated if all these items needed to be replaced the car wouldn't run !! I went ahead paid the $185 diagnostic and will take my car elsewhere because I don't know how much they expect a hour for services but I will not be paying it !! read more

My son took his car to Sun Auto on St Rose on 8/19 since his AC wasn't blowing out cold Air , free AC inspection , remind you he has a 3rd Party Warranty and Sun Auto is one who is listed, never had issues before with them until this ... they quoted my son over 2300 and the told him that's with his warranty, he didn't pay it.. they said he needed a condenser ,compressor , refrigerant ... Made appt at the Subaru Dealership , took it up there this morning received a call back all he has to pay is the $200 for Diagnostic test everything else is covered .. so sounds like to me they were going to pocket the 2300 if my son paid .. since his warrantee covered everything ... just a heads up for anyone who goes to Sun Auto read more

I came here for the first time Thursday, 1/12/23 to get my car checked and see what's going on. I mentioned to Chris that my acceleration kept delaying and it worries me. Told me to replace my battery, air filter, and axle shaft. Spent almost $800 on everything! They said they see nothing wrong with acceleration. Today, I was horrified on the freeway as my car was not accelerating for more than 60 mph! Literally STRUGGLING to make it to their shop because I know something is wrong! I just got everything they said to take care of?! Mind you, I came here last Thursday and mentioned this to Chris and after taking it to this shop, IT HAS GOTTEN WORST! How? I could have gotten into an accident. I also mention today, I started to smell like something was burning. After today, they said it's fine? Well wow. Don't see anything wrong? Ok. Went to get my oil changed and Matthew whom helped me from the time I got there wasn't friendly and had attitude. I thought to myself need an oil change and already there gave him a chance we'll once I got the diagnosis of my car I was asking question's still attitude until I asked his name and his manager then his demeanor change a little bit. So while waiting for my car to finish I checked my tires cause they also did a tire rotation mind you I have rims on my car well I noticed my front passenger front was missing the cover so I went back and ask him he tells me I don't know it was there well walking back to my car I found it under the car towards the back smh so I told him what's going on he said I don't know cause he put it back together well it was cracked and stripped so he said her would order another one well took him a good 2 1/2 weeks to get the part. Not to mention when my husband went to look for new rims it was missing the lock but I guess you call it so when he called they said to bring the car back and see what they can do......... Took my Lexus in for an alignment as it was pulling bad to the right. They were the cheapest in the area and overall with good decent reviews. I was skeptical as i never been here before. So i get my alignment done and as i pay they tell me my right tire has a split in it to be careful and get it checked out/replaced. So as i am driving home its still pulling to the right but not as bad so i called and they told me until i change that tire it will not drive good. I was skeptical to the info they gave to me so when i went home i removed my tire and sure enough in the rear wall of the tire i found the split so definitely i went to get another tire. After the new tire was installed it drove perfect! so glad i chose this place to get my alignment done. Would of been a 5 star but i wish the technician would of took me out to the garage to show me the tire before he re-installed it because he said it was split without actually showing me. read more

Sun Auto wanted to charge me $6,500 and I should mention they charge $205 just for an evaluation, paying to see what's wrong with my car and then paying literally double to get it fixed? What makes it even more comical is I was chatting with another customer and they also wanted to charge him double the one good thing I can say is at least they didn't target me to overcharge because they do it with everyone else also ! I called at 8AM to setup and appointment and Charlie, Sales Manger, told me to come in immediately. when I got there he told me that it would be about one hour and they were finished in 55 minutes. To make a very long story short, I've been experiencing numerous problems with my Kia Sorento since October of last year. After taking it to the Kia dealership multiple times and getting nowhere, I decided to go with Sun Auto for the first time, and, thankfully, all my problems were resolved. JD and Mike were instrumental in resolving the problems that the Kia dealership couldn't fix. Upon receiving the car, I did have some minor issues with my keys and the ceiling lights, but again, JD and Mike completely took care of everything at no extra charge. I took my car in for a vibration on the front passenger side while driving, I was told I had two bad axels.... Looking at other reviews it seems to be a common repair here I was quoted $1,300+ to replace both axels and do an alignment, I approved it and picked up my car and drove it home (roughly 2.5 miles away) I was then out of town for 4 days and when I returned and drove my car into work and felt the same vibration I took it back to Sun Auto and was then told my motor mounts were bad and that caused my axels to go bad ‍ I asked "wouldn't they have known this or seen it on the diagnostic when they determined my axels were bad"????? I was told no not unless they were looking at them specifically..... like really WTH??? What exactly is your diagnostic??? Is it a guess of what might be wrong and have the customer continue to replace parts until the issue is fixed???? Like people go to you for your automotive expertise and for $175 for the diagnostic I thought that's what I was getting..... So they gave me an estimate of $2,200 to replace all 5 of my motor mounts, shocked by this I decided I would take it to another shop for that repair, they did it for $1,400.00 and guess what I still have the vibration so the shop that replaced my motor mounts said they believed that Sun may have used the wrong axels because my car is a sport model and they are different axels so back to Sun I go only to be told no it's not the axels it's now my lower control arms and ball joints that need to be replaced and that I have a bent rim that could be causing the issue I didn't even bother asking for a quote from them because clearly they don't know what they are doing and guessing at my expense! All I can say is BUYER BEWARE if you do go here! Update: I took my car to Hubcap Annie's to have them check my rim and turns out for $100 they repaired my bent rim and my vibration is now gone...... Cost of doing business with this shady company...... $3,100.00 in unnecessary repairs!!!! read more

I took my Car to have the Battery Replace and the Guy that helped me wants to charge me $660 for Parts and Labor. I called around and talked to Drew at Perfect auto at Eastern and he gave me total amount of $320 for the original battery which he has to order from the dealership. I went to Sun Auto on Friday of this past week. I went to the St. Rose location in Henderson, NV and felt the service wasn't very good. I had an oil change and they didn't calibrate or update my oil status in the car and I had to go back. I was told they rotated my tires so I thought that was good. I drove to my daughter's house and on the way home, one of the lug nuts fell of and when i got home I realized there was another lug nut in the driveway: all on the same tire so the tire could have fallen off. Service guy Charlie called and was defensive and accusing me of making it up like I wanted to go back or something. I asked him to send a tech out with one lug nut to put them on, but he wanted a photo and then to send a tow truck out, but very rude. We will never go back to them again. Also, my husband had to secure all the other tires and we bought the one lug nut to secure the one that fell off. I have been driving for fifty tears and this has NEVER happened. Do NOT take your car here if you want to drive away with a safe and working vehicle! I took my van to this place since my entire family has done business with them. For the most part they havent ran into any issues but have had fairly new cars, so it's just been maintenance. My van needed a bit of work done since it had some engine lights on, needed new tires, and had a bit of a leak going on. I asked sun auto to do a full inspection and figure out what it needed fixed and the cause of the leak. They called back and suggested I get new tires, work on the brakes, and replace the wheel housing which we did. They said the other things such as ac and the oil leak weren't immediately needed and we could hold off for now. Never once saying any internal engine issues were present. I trusted their decision and went with what they recommended. I picked my vehicle up and drove 15 miles away and a strange sound started happening. A few minutes after that a rod blows out my engine and I'm stuck on the side of 159 with smoke everywhere and the car not starting. Called sun auto and they said I was SOL. thankfully I have good insurance and they were able to tow my car quickly while my fiancé got to me safely. We towed it back to sun auto and they said there is nothing they can do and we were out over 2000 dollars and a dead vehicle. I now am currently without a car, and being offered 150 for the van with brand new tires all while sun auto threatening to charge me for parking and inspection fees if I posted a review. Not only did you lose an entire family of customers that were loyal to you, but I will most definitely be posting everywhere to warn others of your trash service.
