I took my car in for a vibration on the front passenger side while driving, I was told I had two bad axels.... Looking at other reviews it seems to be a common repair here I was quoted $1,300+ to replace both axels and do an alignment, I approved it and picked up my car and drove it home (roughly 2.5 miles away) I was then out of town for 4 days and when I returned and drove my car into work and felt the same vibration I took it back to Sun Auto and was then told my motor mounts were bad and that caused my axels to go bad ‍ I asked "wouldn't they have known this or seen it on the diagnostic when they determined my axels were bad"????? I was told no not unless they were looking at them specifically..... like really WTH??? What exactly is your diagnostic??? Is it a guess of what might be wrong and have the customer continue to replace parts until the issue is fixed???? Like people go to you for your automotive expertise and for $175 for the diagnostic I thought that's what I was getting..... So they gave me an estimate of $2,200 to replace all 5 of my motor mounts, shocked by this I decided I would take it to another shop for that repair, they did it for $1,400.00 and guess what I still have the vibration so the shop that replaced my motor mounts said they believed that Sun may have used the wrong axels because my car is a sport model and they are different axels so back to Sun I go only to be told no it's not the axels it's now my lower control arms and ball joints that need to be replaced and that I have a bent rim that could be causing the issue I didn't even bother asking for a quote from them because clearly they don't know what they are doing and guessing at my expense! All I can say is BUYER BEWARE if you do go here! Update: I took my car to Hubcap Annie's to have them check my rim and turns out for $100 they repaired my bent rim and my vibration is now gone...... Cost of doing business with this shady company...... $3,100.00 in unnecessary repairs!!!! read more

I've been coming here for atleast 4 years now , the Staff changed so much and the Service went down hills . I took my Car to have the Battery Replace and the Guy that helped me wants to charge me $660 for Parts and Labor. This place has the reviews it does because it lives up to the stars! Friendly and efficient! $5 off your check in is a nice touch and helps with the already reasonable prices! F**k this place I came here earlier this year because my 2017 BMW was leaking coolant. They charged me almost $2700 $693 for "parts" and $1875 for LABOR‼ Just for me to have to bring it to the bmw dealership for the same issue not long after!! They took advantage of me being desperate knowing I had to get back to work. I was warned about this place already, now I see why. Don't make the mistake I did!! read more

My family needed a mechanic close to home. So we started coming here recommended by a friend. They have been great, and they always seem to take care of us quickly. I've now made a relationship with JD there. So I always call him & get the best service. Everyone else there is great, too. But I like dealing with the same person, and JD has been great. read more

Sun Auto Service - Billed but no diagnostic report given to customer - Auto Repair Near Me - Henderson, Nevada

Yesterday I had my oil changed and once again it was a pleasant experience. I called at 8AM to setup and appointment and Charlie, Sales Manger, told me to come in immediately. when I got there he told me that it would be about one hour and they were finished in 55 minutes. He was courteous and funny and kept me advice on the progress of the job being done. I have been to this location several time and will continue to do so. Thank you Charlie and Sun Auto. read more

I found this place on yelp. Great reviews but I had no idea. Upon my 1030am arrival, just about every bay was filled. I was thinking I should have made an appointment online. I walked into the reception area and it was sparking. Seating area, with a full view of the cars being worked on. Keith greeted me from behind the clean counter. He was polite, mild mannered and helpful. After creating my profile I was set for a synthetic oil change. I saw my cost was $26. I thought it was an error. I'd been paying $97 -&105 for a decade!!! He explained is been paying for the name; a molecule is the same is what is been using and this new product. I felt punked. Looks like I have a new full service automate spot! Disappointed. The whole staff was rude and dismissive, more obsessed with whatever they were watching on their phone than being responsive and courteous to customers. Sense of entitlement from staff that was extremely off putting. Only got an oil change, so can't comment on their proficiency as mechanics. I'm sure they're perfectly good on that side of things. Not a good experience. Couldn't see myself coming back. read more

I'd hoped to have my car's air conditioner refreshed but came across a problem. For one, I tried to call this business a few times but there wasn't anyone there to answer. In addition to that, when I was finally able to get a hold of someone, hours later, they told me that there was going to be a lengthy delay because they were backed up about 55+ cars back. I asked why there was such a back up and the person I spoke with said that it was because their system had been somehow hacked. And so they were spending much of that day trying to get their system back up on line and running. So, they also told me that there was no time estimate that they could give me and there was no way to guarantee even that the work could be done in the same day. They told me that even if I brought my car in that they wouldn't be able to guarantee that anyone would be able to look at it or therefore even begin to assess if it was something more than just the AC that was having issues. So, it seemed to me no matter what, I wasn't going to be getting any help from them in time for me to stay on schedule to leave and head back home. I can appreciate the man I spoke to for having told me the truth about their system being hacked and that there was no way to guarantee that my car would be worked on let alone looked at. It was just inconvenient, more than anyone knows. Hopefully the next time that I have to contact this business they will be up and running and without any issues. read more

I started coming to Sun Auto after the pandemic because the shop I used to go to was no longer open on Saturdays. I chose Sun Auto based on the positive reviews, which is why I feel the need to share my personal experiences. I've been to Sun Auto several times for oil changes and once or twice I've had the guys try to upsell me, which was off-putting, but my most recent experience really did it. My CEL went off and Chris told me I needed to get the leak detection pump replaced, which would cost around $800 parts and labor. He also suggested a "yearly" 3 step fuel system service for $160. Overall bill was over $1,200. I just wanted my car fixed so I paid it without question (big regret). 5 days later my CEL goes off again so I took it back in. Chris called me and made it sound like it was the worst news he had to give someone. He said my intake manifold had to be replaced and would cost over $1,200 to fix. I had enough. I found another mechanic who fixed it in less than 30 minutes for $170 parts and labor! The mechanic also said the previous mechanic (clearly Sun Auto) didn't tighten my oil drain plugs. I never write such negative reviews based on one bad experience, but I do feel the need when I see a pattern of unethical practices. When it comes to certain services, I rely on experts to fix the job and charge a reasonable price. Price gouging and doing a careless job on top of that is something consumers should be aware of. I will no longer be giving them my business nor would I recommend them as a place you can trust where they will not take advantage of you (though I suspect it depends on which serviceman you get). read more

I brought my car in for a broken AC, which is something you don't want in Vegas. They called me a few hours later with a diagnosis and a quote. While the quote was 20% over what I expected, they explained the AC condenser was the reason why it was so expensive. I authorized the repair and picked up the car two days later (I was not in a rush, this is a spare car). I picked up the car and indeed the AC condenser was the main expense, whereas the actual work was *very* reasonable. The AC now blows ice cold and I am happy with the repair. I plan on visiting Sun Auto Service again for basic maintenance and repairs. They earned a new customer. read more

I took my car to the team on a Friday morning for a broken line on the windshield fluid. The line broke the day before a roadtrip was departing and was in a tight spot. When I arrived they informed me that there were a day's worth of cars ahead of me but to leave it if I could and they would see what they could do. I was so delighted when they contacted me around 1pm that day to let me know they took care of it and at a truly minimal charge, I have taken my cars to Sun Auto for all needs and have never been let down. read more

My first choice whenever my car needs servicing. I have an older truck - Dodge Dakota 2004 - that often has issues with the transmission, the gentlemen here take great care of it and I immediately notice how much better it drives as compared to when when I dropped it off. Their customer service is polite and to the point, we receive a diagnosis and quote for whatever needs maintenance and within days my car is back on the road. When I drop off my car for any form of servicing, I know it's in safe hands. A special thank you to the taller gentleman's customer service, who was in the shop when I both dropped off and picked up my vehicle. Thank you guys for the continuous great service! read more

Always friendly, quick and thorough. Only place that I would recommend to work on my car.

What is the point of making an appointment, when that appointment gets moved back, only to be told when you arrive for said delayed appointment that they messed and had you scheduled for an oil change(which was just done at this same location a month ago) when you had requested a tune up?! THEN to be told, "sorry, no way I can do what you scheduled, I got 20 cars ahead of you!" "But have a nice day, sir!" REALLY?! HAVE A NICE DAY?!!! You just fucked up A LOT of plans by delaying me in the first place by a week, and now you can't do the service I SCHEDULED VIA YOUR APP?! I've had Mickey Mouse service at this location before, but this takes the cake. I LOVE supporting small businesses but this place has lost my business. That's it. The "but you have a nice day" comment when I was clearly pissed was the final straw. Big, goofy, bearded guy with glasses, this ones on YOU! I only wish I'd have gotten your name. Maybe you run the place, but your customer service sucks. read more

We've usually taken our plugin 2012 Prius to the dealer when the maintenance required indicator message comes on but I wanted to try Sun Auto St Rose after they had done such a great job putting a new engine in my daughters Kia last month. Sun Auto Service - 1993 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon - Auto Repair Near Me - Henderson, Nevada

Made an appointment and was given one for a week later for an oil change. Arrived and no one was at the counter. An older guy 50s/60s came from the service area, no smile and flat affect. I gave him my information and told him what I was there for and he quoted me $89 for the oil change. I mentioned that I had a coupon and he said that the coupon wouldn't apply due to my car needing a full synthetic oil change not synthetic blend. He has no customer service skills, seldom made eye contact, and you could tell he absolutely does not like his job dealing with people. Had he had a different personality I would've agreed to the oil change, but just because of his nonchalant attitude, I didn't want to establish any type of relationship with this company. read more

JD was awesome the whole shop was super kind and efficient! 100 percent would recommend them to family or friends

JD, you and your team rock! My assistant had brought her husband's truck to you under Car Maxx Warranty. She loved the service and felt good about your team there. That was good enough for me. My experience was great as well. I usually don't take the time to review, but had to. Often auto services get a bad wrap. Even the manager had been kind and helpful seeing me waiting while you were on a call. Cool to know that people out there in business still care. My radiator was leaking, you check my system and didn't even charge me. Who does that these days? Great service, fast and no one tried to take advantage. I'll be back, next time I have an issue. read more

Update Feb 8th 2021: Zero reply from them. I'll mail another letter. Update Jan 9 2021: Mailed Sun the invoice for the repair work and parts and a letter requesting they reimburse me for the amount listed since 1.) I had zero oil smell or leaks since before taking it to Sun for this oil change, and 2.) the engine cover was missing after the oil change, and after getting it back from Sun there's a crack in the cover, further suggesting it was ripped off violently, causing the cover mount / valve cover to crack. Update Jan 8 2021: Took my car to another mechanic today to look at it and he easily found the oil problem to be a cracked valve cover stemming from the engine cover mount. Caused by removing the engine cover improperly (the engine cover Sun removed and was missing). It's not brittle, it's a 2017 model. The repair comes in just under $500 parts and labor. I had zero oil smell or leaks before Sun changed the oil then all this happened. And after returning to Sun to retrieve my engine cover and complaining about the oil smell and oil all over the top of the motor, 2 weeks after the oil change, Sun didn't bother to take a step back and and take a proactive approach to see what might be wrong. My hope is that Sun will reimburse me for the repair. If they do, that will be a good win for them, and I'll post another update here. Update Jan 5 2021: Updated my rating from 1 to 2 stars today: It looks like the store manager called a few times and left me a voicemail after posting this review. I do appreciate the concern. They have always been good with customer service. However, I'm beyond talking about it, because I feel I can only find a trusted independent mechanic to work on my cars. read more

My car is currently at Sun Auto in Henderon on Stephanie. Brought it in for wobble while braking. Approved lower front control arms and front rotors and pads for $1400.00. I asked them to also change oil. Fast forward, the car now does not start. They gave it to me and as I drove away from the shop the car was misfiring, check engine light was flashing and I turned around and barely got it back to the shop. They test drove it and the car is now a no-start. They are claiming the oil was low and when they changed it that might have exposed an engine issue. There was no engine issue prior. I checked the oil and they overfill as the dip stick showed way past full. They are checking it now. I guarantee they will not take any responsibility. Anyone have any advice on how to proceed? Thanks. read more

The customer service at Sun Auto is beyond compare! As a female I am often trepidatious as to where I take my vehicle to be serviced especially for an oil change. Upon entry I was warmly greeted by Patrick who graciously gave me an appointment and an estimated time in which my oil change and service inspection would be complete. AND....I only had to pay $56.83 for Synthetic Oil change with a new oil filter (2015 VW Passat)!!! As I sat in the waiting area which is impeccably clean, I was speaking with other customers who told me that they only go to Sun Auto because of their thorough work and impeccable customer care. I would say that if you're a lady coming in by yourself this is one of the last shops you should go too. i read the other reviews to make sure i wasn't tripping. they have tried overcharging so many people for work that isn't even as much as they try charging. I went in for an AC inspection in which they told me that the clutch broke off the AC compressor and therefore needed to replace the whole thing trying to charge me $2,000 AMERICAN DOLLARS. my AC compressor isn't more than $400, they put that it was $900. to add the freon was $300. plus $600 in labor. $150 for a system recharge. Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I don't know other mechanics or that I can't look up on the same internet how much parts are and how much labor usually is. In conclusion, this place is so sketchy and misogynistic. read more

I went to Sun Auto on Friday of this past week. I went to the St. Rose location in Henderson, NV and felt the service wasn't very good. I had an oil change and they didn't calibrate or update my oil status in the car and I had to go back. I was told they rotated my tires so I thought that was good. I drove to my daughter's house and on the way home, one of the lug nuts fell of and when i got home I realized there was another lug nut in the driveway: all on the same tire so the tire could have fallen off. Service guy Charlie called and was defensive and accusing me of making it up like I wanted to go back or something. I asked him to send a tech out with one lug nut to put them on, but he wanted a photo and then to send a tow truck out, but very rude. We will never go back to them again. Also, my husband had to secure all the other tires and we bought the one lug nut to secure the one that fell off. I have been driving for fifty tears and this has NEVER happened. Be aware before you go. read more

I made an appointment and arrived on time for an oil change. Guy at front desk said would be 30 to 45 minutes to do the oil change. ( I can change my own oil laying on my back in my garage faster than that and I Should have.) After waiting an hour and no oil change , I ask the guy at the front desk for my keys as I had another appointment. He said " Oh sorry, didn't know they didn't come get your vehicle." I looked in the garage as I was leaving and all I could see were tech's standing around and feeding their faces. Terribly run operation so don't take your vehicle there unless you have hours, possibly days to kill. Would give negative rating if could. read more

Do NOT take your car here if you want to drive away with a safe and working vehicle! I took my van to this place since my entire family has done business with them. For the most part they havent ran into any issues but have had fairly new cars, so it's just been maintenance. My van needed a bit of work done since it had some engine lights on, needed new tires, and had a bit of a leak going on. I asked sun auto to do a full inspection and figure out what it needed fixed and the cause of the leak. They called back and suggested I get new tires, work on the brakes, and replace the wheel housing which we did. They said the other things such as ac and the oil leak weren't immediately needed and we could hold off for now. Never once saying any internal engine issues were present. I trusted their decision and went with what they recommended. I picked my vehicle up and drove 15 miles away and a strange sound started happening. A few minutes after that a rod blows out my engine and I'm stuck on the side of 159 with smoke everywhere and the car not starting. Called sun auto and they said I was SOL. thankfully I have good insurance and they were able to tow my car quickly while my fiancé got to me safely. We towed it back to sun auto and they said there is nothing they can do and we were out over 2000 dollars and a dead vehicle. I now am currently without a car, and being offered 150 for the van with brand new tires all while sun auto threatening to charge me for parking and inspection fees if I posted a review. Not only did you lose an entire family of customers that were loyal to you, but I will most definitely be posting everywhere to warn others of your trash service. Take a look at your other horrible reviews And do better! read more
