I had a great experience getting my car aligned. After going to 3 different shops that wouldn't align my car because it's lowered and a bunch of other BS, Brake Masters came through for me. In-ground style alignment rack (level with the ground) makes things so much easier/lowered car friendly. Price was right and service was A1! I brought my CRV here to get a brake flush, I waited 2 hours and paid $91.XX. I had another issue the next day and took my car to another mechanic, I asked him to check my brake fluid and he did, he brought me over to show me and it was pitch black (should be light brown/gold). They DIDNT DO ANYTHING TO IT AND CHARGED ME! It took me 2 days to get a hold of the manager and he said he will refund my card (never did). Dishonest people here, be careful when you get work done. The manager also said my rear brakes had less than 1mm of metal left and quoted me $700 for new rear brakes. I visited this Brake Masters three times for oil changes. During those three visits, I was treated to (on the part of its employees): Careless/sloppy work - resulting in (when pointed out), excuses, double talk, and/or outright lying. The last straw was when I was urged to repair my car's suspension (as it was due to fail at any moment ... at a cost of $1,500. ... the next day I took it to the dealership and had the service manager and the service supervisor ... they told me ''there was nothing wrong with any part of the suspension system. read more

If there was a way to submit lower than a one star, I would. I was referred here by someone I knew at a tire place to fix a lug nut. When I saw everything they did besides brakes and saw how well they worked, I continued to go here for repairs. That was four years ago. However, I will no longer go here. The management at least the assistant management is beyond rude, and the workmanship and reliability is no longer in my opinion. I had called to get estimates for checking to see what an issue could be and possible repairs. The woman who answered the phone (who I found out later is the assistant manager or so she says), was instantly irritated in letting me know they have to look at it to see what's wrong (which I already knew and which is why I asked how much to look) and asked "so are you coming in or not?" I was instantly done with the call for that treatment. I went to a different location who gave me estimates and advised what's wrong. I wanted to look up in the history to see when the repairs had been done last. I thought it was beginning of 2019 at a different shop chain I went to and left due to them purposely breaking other things on my cars to charge more money, but it turns out this brake masters did the repair and replacements last in 2020 (struts and mounts). And yes other things were recommended. Those should not have gone bad already. I barely put any miles on in those years due to Covid and working from home. I ended up having another shop repair them for 1- did not realize brake masters did this in 2020 and the other brake masters didn't tell me it was done then. 2 - non of the honest, friendly management works here anymore. 3- the mechanics I was use to are no longer there. I ended up needing an alignment after all the work that was done and the Brake Masters I now started going to did not have the mechanic at the time they said they would, so stupid me I called back this location to see if they could do the alignment. Yet again, the "assistant manager" answers. I asked if they had availability for an alignment and how much. She advised the machine was broke. Before I could ask when it would be back up, she disconnected or "the phone was disconnected." After I found my paperwork that they had "done" the repairs in 2020, I called them with my concern. Again the same person answered, and I asked for the manager. In what I felt was a irritated tone, she said she was the assistant manager. That's not who I asked for, but I'll go with it. I started to advise I was calling about a concern regarding repairs from 2020. I asked what brand of parts they used and where they got them because they should not have gone bad. At this point I could feel she was not happy. I'm the one who shouldn't be happy since the repairs had to be redone already, but I kept my cool. She asked me why I didn't bring it to them because they would have taken care of it, but it had a 12 month so many mile warranty. Ok, would they or wouldn't they have taken care of it? She asked for my phone number and going through all the times I had been there and saw the times I had gone to the other location, I advised the date of repairs in which she continued to go through all the other times I had been there. And, I have two vehicles. She reached a certain point and said, " I don't get the point of this call. What is the point of this call?" So I advised I was calling as stated before the parts should not have gone bad already. And her reply, " you never came back to us to take care of it, but it has a 12 month so many mile warranty. Why didn't you come here. What's the point of this call?" I replied " my normal mechanics and management are no longer there. And I have no idea where the attitude is coming from." And with that attitude why would she expect me to go back there? I did not have an upset tone. She didn't give me any chance to discuss anything (and it was clear to me she was unhappy and wanted me off the phone), and I had been there several times after the original repairs to get other things fixed and even complained of the same issue 2021 and 2022 in which they "tightened" something that helped for like a day then went right back to the same rattle. Somehow that was not noted on my account that she went through with me. I would not just bring a car in for no reason. I don't have the time or money to waste. I finally asked to have the number for corporate or the district manager who I know has worked for the company for years, then asked her to have him call me. She said she would on Monday. Well it's been two weeks. I assume she didn't send any message to him. This is very disappointing as this USE to be a good location. I no longer trust going here. read more

Rip Off Artists!! Came in to get brake pads changed as they were making a slight squeaking noise. Got quoted $169 to change them and told about an hour until they're done. An hour later still sitting here and suddenly they don't have the pads needed. I could buy now and come back later once they arrive. Since they provided no service I must $60 since they "cleaned" the pads. I didn't ask for them to be cleaned so why must I pay. Place is a joke! He said well we will try to fit you in and then followed it up by " if you have an appointment at 12 we will try to get you in in about 1-2 hours. So clearly appointments don't matter here. I went in to check my gas tank a few weeks ago. They handed me a list of issues they found with my car. All of which would cost over 1k to fix. She said it was urgent I got my CV Axels replaced. Which they were going to charge nearly 400 dollars for. I went to TWO other mechanics in the area to get more estimates. Both said that my Axels were perfectly fine and did not need any replacing. Brake masters had also told me my brakes needed to be replaced; which was true. They quoted me $325.52. The new place I went to, gives the same warranty but charged me 160 dollars. I have gone here in the past, and as a very young woman, I do not recommend them. I have been treated very different and this is now the second time I have been scammed. My father went in the previous visit and they had a completely different attitude with him. I highly recommend going to any other shop. read more

DO NOT take your car here. These guys are extremely deceptive and it's very obvious. They will offer you a low price to get you in, then hike the prices up once they have you car taken apart for their free inspection. Although the inspection is free, they lie about the cost of repair to get you in and charge you double. They also lied and said nothing was wrong with my car because they didn't want to fix it. Clearly they are on the clock and get paid anyway. They have no clue what they are doing! They couldn't even get my hood open, and I believe they did something to tamper with it. I never heard of a mechanic who couldn't open a hood of a car. Hoax, runaway and go to a shop in the h00d who will fix your car for the low and leave you satisfied because they have transferable life skills. 8080 S. Eastern Ave store 210 Las Vegas, NV I took my car to Break Master to have my breaks and rotors replaced and an oil change. Upon their "inspection" I was told by the advisor Josh B. that I needed a new Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing and thermostat. I didn't understand why, because my car wasn't over heating etc. Josh came up with a BS story about living in Vegas heat, my car is 10 yrs old, etc. He also said I needed gaskets replaced, because they're leaking oil, normal, because I live in Vegas and my car is 10. I haven't seen any oil anywhere. Along with the breaks and rotors, it will be $2200. Its Christmas time, I can't do that. He was quick to offer financing. I agreed to the thermostat and thermostat housing being Josh made it sound like my car was going to overheat and I would blow my engine. Now, that would be expensive. I paid for the work "they did" and drove away. My car had zero get-up-n-go, I figured, its real cold outside and I didn't give it time to warm up like I usually do. A couple days later, the check engine light came on, and its still sluggish. Not normal for a turbo car. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called Josh, told him what it was doing, he said bring it in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I did, I waited to see what the diagnosis was, and to my disbelief, "its the turbocharger" WHAT?? It was running just fine, I've never had any issues with the turbo. Josh explained to me that "it was nothing they did to my car, just that my car is 10 years old, in Las Vegas and turbos go out. It will be $3946.82, we have financing." I declined and told Josh, "my car has only 70K miles on it, I'm the original owner and I put all the miles on it. I will take it to the dealership and have them look at it. The engine is still under warranty, 10yr/100k miles." Josh assured me "these things happen, the car is 10 yrs old. Reiterating that the gaskets still need replacing." $100 for two gaskets, $900 for labor. I'll pass on that, for now. He tells me "ok, we'll back it out for you." I go out and see a mechanic plugging in a diagnostic machine to my car again. He reads it, and gives me my keys. I'm going to head to the gas station, I need gas. Hmmm, my car is running just fine, has its get-up-n-go, but the check engine light is still on. I stop, get my gas, jump back in, fire it up, and would you look at that??? The check engine light is off. I know they go off after being reset, takes a couple miles. I get home, and I call Josh. "Josh, guess what? The weirdest thing just happened. After I left you, I headed to the gas station. My car was haulin ass like normal. After I got my gas, fired it back up and the check engine light was off! Its a Christmas Miracle." (insert 100% sarcasm) Josh responded "huh, that really is odd. Well the light went off because we reset it, but the car is running just fine, huh, weird. It's nothing that we did." I asked "well wont the check engine light pop back on if the turbo is in fact bad?" he replied yes. I am taking my car to the dealership to have them check it out and to see if a thermostat housing was actually replaced. What I believe is, they popped the turbo sensor out which caused the car not to boost so I would bring it in and they can rip me off for 4 grand! Once I declined and said I was going to the dealership, they popped it back in, ran another diagnostic test and reset the check engine light. One I get the report from the dealership, I will add on to this review. If I am wrong, I will publicly apologize, after all, it is Vegas and the car is 10. ;) read more

I chose this shop because of a positive recommendation from a friend's husband reinforced by the other positive online reviews from women. I walk away feeling like I did the jobs I wanted to do without being gouged and without a whole lot of struggle. Where car repairs are concerned, that's a success. Easy next day appointment, although appointments aren't required. Work completed the same day. Coupons automatically applied, so, no fuss there. Good information re: suggestions for future repairs. Enough that I feel equipped to make an informed decision at such time it becomes appropriate. Car places can be a scuzz level crapshoot scam trap for women. On July 16 I went to Brake Masters in hopes of getting an estimate to fix my brakes. I initially had a great experience , the mechanic seemed very helpful went over what was wrong and gave me an estimate. Going to the mechanic can be a stressful process, getting estimates, finding the right one, etc,. After getting the estimate I also inquired about my AC in which I was also given information. I took a few minutes to decide then noticed the mechanic becoming agitated. I told him that I would like to get the brake work done and also inquired about the drop off/pick up service that was offered. Someone would take me home and pick me up when the car was ready. This is when he changed and became clearly agitated. He no longer had time to take my car that day. I would now have to make an appointment for Tuesday and he was unsure about the drop off/pick up service. He also kept offering me coupons and telling me that he hopes it helps which I didn't understand. Everyone appreciates coupons but he made it feel like charity. Not sure as to why the change in mood I decided to just take my car elsewhere. I ended up trying again at a Brake Masters at the Henderson location. I really debated going to the same company but it was closer to home and I really need my brakes done. They were grinding and I could not wait until Tuesday as was suggested. I took a chance went to the Henderson location, explained that I had a bad situation at the other location but just wanted my brakes done. I didn't give names or talk about it. I was just hoping to get my brakes taken care of and to be treated right as a customer. I gave the mechanic at Henderson my quote. They were too busy for drop off/ pick up service even though I lived down the street. I decided to let them do the work and because I was unable to pick up my car I had to pay upfront. While in the process of paying a mechanic comes in and says if your brakes are rubbing there may be other issues. You can pay now but there may be more cost. When he said that I lost complete trust. I was already spending a little over 1,000 for the work. He could have came back with anything and I would have been liable. Why not just re-examine the car and give me another estimate. What he was basically telling me to do was to leave the tab open. People like to know the cost upfront. So I said no because trust was gone and took my car elsewhere. I came back at 11am and my car is still not being checked! 1pm finally my car is being checked because I said something! There excuse was because I had to get something in my car they skipped me and pulled another vehicle in when my car was in line already! They charged me for $388.28 2:50pm I looked to see if they are almost done and I told the guy who was working on my brakes how long it's going to take because I have been here since 10am! The manager said they are almost done and they have to put the tires back in. I am still waiting patiently! I wouldn't recommend this place at all if you want to wait 5 hrs and 20 minutes! I took my van in to have an oil change in november. Today, I took my car in to the dealership to some routine maintenance, and I found out that Brake Masters did such a hack job of an oil change, that they had to basically TAKE THE WHOLE ENGINE APART TO UNDO THE DAMAGE THEY DID!!!!!!! Thankfully, my vehicle is still under warranty, and I know that one should be cautious when choosing a garage when it comes time for maintenance, but a simple oil change shouldn't wind up having to cost me time and money and peace of mind after having to get a rental car and go without my vehicle for heaven knows how many days. read more

Today in my mid 50s, sometimes i just dont want to do the work, especially without my own lift or having level ground to work on. I should have learned. Miscommunication in service of my vehicle ended up with the work not done on my car and parts not installed but I was still charged. Manager next day returned the parts that I purchased, money was not refunded to my card though. I started using Brakemasters almost 3 years ago, they used to offer a great value and did great work- I've probably spent at least $6-7k there. Recently my experiences have not been good, my daughter took her car in for an transmission light and they gave her a laundry list of issues, then told here they couldn't continue diagnosis because her battery was too low and she needed to replace it before they could continue and told her it was $325 for a battery change. It's easy to get to and an inexpensive battery they range $80-$140 retail at various parts stores, they sold her a battery for $292 plus labor. When I called to question this they simply told me sorry the work was authorized by your daughter. Ok you got your $325 for the battery but that will be the last time anyone in our family goes there. read more

A really disrespectful man working the counter got nasty when I told him my boyfriend their prices were ridiculous. He walked away and said he'll try to do something. Came back offering to do it for $1200. I said I wanted my keys back and some lady came out offering to do it for $900. I got my keys back and left. When my brakes started making a grinding noise I needed to find someone to take my car to. I can not even begin to tell you how grateful I am that after reading the reviews I decided to go to Brake Masters! I was greeted immediately with a friendly hello by a man who I would later find out is named Nestor Q. Let's be honest... nobody ever wants to hear that they need new brakes and rotors. But Nestor was so friendly that I can honestly say I left there feeling like I took them to the best place possible to get them fixed. I also noticed that the waiting area was really clean, and I was beyond impressed with how quickly he was able to finish the work on my car. SCAM! They lie to customers about their lifetime brake policy. They told me I drive too much so that's why I couldn't get my brakes replaced. Can't drive more than 20k miles or you won't get them replaced. That's a total lie because it was nowhere in writing, they made it up.
