One word for this place: SHADY! I have a 2010 Prius that unfortunately had a damaged Inverter Coolant pump. This was only explained to me as a damaged "thingy" underneath my Catalytic Converter that needed to be replaced. Who would go to a place that doesn't even know what they're replacing? Even with a rudimentary understanding of how cars work, it was easy to deduce that these guys really don't know what they're doing. Aside from that, they upcharge close to double on parts (Cat was $995 through the dealer, invoice showed $1700 for the part). Findlay Toyota did the job for $300 less! Do NOT trust this place. On a recent trip my old van started to get hot when idling. I wanted to get it checked out before going on and stopped here. The tech popped the radiator cap off (absolutely a bad idea) and immediately informed me the head gasket was blown. I've worked on cars my whole life, I've never seen a head gasket get blown by gettin a little warm and, since the entire cooling system had been replaced and the fluid still looked clean I just didn't see how that could be. The tech blew up saying he had over 50 years experience and it was blown and I was wrong to question him. I drove off before he could do any real damage. I replaced the antifreeze he lost, replaced the fan relay ($55) and confirmed it's running normally now. I was informed by a QUALIFIED auto mechanic this is a common trick to try to get people to get rid of their car cheap because it's not worth fixing. Not saying this is what they were doing but sure seemed that way - just take advantage of people when they're in a spot. Go somewhere else where you can trust the people looking at you car! My wife was in the office when your technician came in from the garage absolutely enraged that I would question his flawed diagnosis. He lied to me to try to profit from what he thought was an easy fleecing of an unsuspecting pidgin. My review is an honest attempt to let other people know what they may also experience. read more

Went to Sun Auto to have my brake pads replaced since another shop in Texas told me they needed replacement. The Sun Auto folks took 20 minutes to examine my brakes, and told me about 30% life was remaining, and that if I drove with some proactive braking, I could get much more time from them (possibly 15k miles or more). Rare is the auto shop that doesn't try to push you into expensive fixes as fast as possible. I'll be giving Sun Auto my business this winter. read more

Repairs seemed expensive for the work that was done. The customer service was absolutely flat. No character among the staff, no sense of urgency and a lack of communication skills from staff to customer. For an example, I was told my car was going to be pulled around for me and to wait for it. I waited for about twenty minutes outside and then went inside to follow up on the status of my car. The employee says " Oh your keys are right here, and then gives them to me". I felt a sense of neglect and the comment he made when I decided to wait on my repairs was unprofessional. His exact words were "She can't take care of it today". This was inaccurate and inappropriate to say. I ended going back to repair my car. It was fixed in a timely manner and it is in great working condition now. Despite the dry experience, I would recommend this location if you need quick service, reliability and you live close by. read more

I moved to Vegas in August and the AC went out. I took the car in for an oil change and to ask them to look at the AC. I was quoted $2K to replace it. Also, told my front brakes were about to go. An additional $500 quote. I took my car home. A You Tube video and a $15 part later, my AC is back on track. Spoke with the person who did all the maintenance on the car prior to moving to Vegas and he said there's nothing wrong with my brakes. Gave me a couple of things to check. No issues. Sadly I feel this is one of those "females know nothing about cars so lets make what we can off of her" type of situations. :( read more

12/3/2019 - I am in Henderson for Software Training from Central California. 2 weeks ago I had a brand new Power Steering Line installed in my vehicle and the drive to Henderson was the first real test of the repairs done on the vehicle. I noticed yesterday on the second day of the week long training that there was fluid leaking beneath the car. I decided to take it to SUN AUTO SERVICE on St. Rose Parkway as it is very close to the training facility. I spent almost $2000 getting the car fixed in California, and the thought of another huge repair bill was scaring me a LOT! I talked to JD Harrison, one of the Service Advisor's at SUN AUTO SERVICE of Henderson. He immediately had one of the service techs take a look at the vehicle. In under 45 minutes, JD let me know that one of the "o rings" for the power steering line was leaking and they had replaced it and the leak was repaired! I asked JD what the cost of the repair was, and his exact words were, "No Charge"!!! SUN AUTO SERVICE of Henderson is the Best!!! Went for an oil change today and had a good experience. I scheduled my appointment online and my car was taken back shortly after arriving. The staff was polite, and the shop was very clean and organized. Can't beat the price either, way better than Jiffy Lube. I'll definitely be back! Came back for my second visit this past Friday and same great experience! After checking my receipt I realized they do a tire rotation with every oil change. I was on my way to discount tire after my oil change to do that, so I was happy that they saved me so much time! read more

I initially thought I had a major issue with my engine this morning. I brought my car in so the mechanics at Sun Auto Service could scope it. I called around to the dealership and was quoted $170 to scope my car. The big issue was that no one had an appointment today and the Ford dealer was booked 2 weeks out!! The guys at Sun Auto Service allowed me to drop my car off without an appointment and said they will do their best to look at it today. The end result was that the scope was normal and my car was actually working well. I was not charged for the scope! It's very difficult to find honest mechanics where I'm from. These guys were really great. I highly recommend anyone who needs auto repairs to this company! JD was awesome I can't thank you guys enough I hope to not ever have to bring my car in for repairs. I would give them less if I could. A car was brought in for a Complete Air Conditioning repair. The paper work stated that they Repaired the Air Conditioner Compressor and hoses. All the sudden there is another issue with the AC Unit. The car was taken to the same shop by a different person and was told that there were over $3000 worth of repairs that needed to be done to that car. One of them being again the AC unit that was just completely fixed less than 2 1/2 weeks prior???? It was a girl that went in and J. Harrison thought that she was ign9ratnt or something because she was given a long list of things wrong with it. I called on Monday the 11th and the guy was very rude and stated that he told the man who brought the car in that the AC was COMPLETELY FIXED and good to go. Then he hung up on me. Well I called today to speak to someone else and I got JD. I was asking Questions about the Inspection Report that was given and he stated to me that he wasn't going to go over everything on the paper and I needed to read it. When I asked him abut their warranty AC work he stated it was Parts & Labor 2 years / 24,000 miles. When I asked him about the previous work done he stated that something flew under the car and put a hole in one of the AC components. Then he stated that they made the man who originally brought the car in aware of the problem but he said no. Apparently they dont stand behind their warranty cause it only lasts up to 16 days or less? So what is it????? LIES all the way around. So here's my advice either fix it your self or do your homework because the men in this shop have no respect for their selves or this profession. I came in a few weeks ago for a brake bleed after I had replaced a abs valve. The Sun tech's found my valve was leaking and couldn't complete the job. I expected a service fee for their time, but they didnt charge me for their time. I find this as being more than honest, quite unexpected. Since then I found the leak, fixed it, and returned to Sun this morning for the brake bleed work. Fair honest prices and great service. Ive waited a couple of weeks to write this to make sure I wasn't just mad at the way I was treated .My jeep Wrangler needed an oxygen sensor so I ordered one on line and planed on installing it my self,but to no avail I could not get the old one out. So I went to Sun auto and they said they could help me. So hers how it went... They wouldn't use the new part I bought for $ 15.00 they installed there part costing $102.00 same part as mine. Then $57.00 labor fair... $ 6.00 disposal fee? to throw it out......$7.95 shop supplies? Use A wrench?? Plus tax =..$182.55..... Really to install a $ 15.00 part? Anytime we have had issues with our cars I know I can get a fair honest Quote from them, All the staff is very knowledgeable and polite and if you do come across any issues make sure to ask for the general manager Mike he has come out personally to make sure that I fully understand the repairs that are needed and why. My drivers side head light was out on my Cadillac ATS. I had a local mechanic change out the head lightbulb and it still wasn't working so I drove to Vegas to have it looked at at Sun Auto on St. Rose Parkway. The shop was packed in the parking lot was full, he told me it would take a few hours to get to it I explained I was from two hours away he got my car in the shop immediately got it looked at and found out the shop that originally replace the headlight didn't plug it back in. They could've charged me for their time but they DID NOT!!!! I was very happy with the service I received at Sun auto. Mike was very pleasant and helpful to talk to on the phone. Many places , such as the dealer, cannot provide any auto expertise over the phone. However, mike diagnosed my problem and told me they could fix it. The problem was also technical as I had 2 doors in my Hyundai Tucson that stopped opening. They fixed it in a few hours and saved me several hundreds of dollars compared to the dealer quote. I had to take my daughter's car in for a brake service since she's been saying how it squeals and shakes a lot. A couple of Co workers recommended Sun Auto. So after calling a couple of places I decided to bring it there and it's only like 5 minutes away from my daughter's house. I dropped it off first thing when they opened. A few hours later, Marty called and explained in detail what the issue was. Turned out the brakes were fine, it was actually the control arm that's broken that caused the shakes. It was going to cost more than what I had planned to spend but because it was a safety issue, I went ahead and let them fix it. I asked to throw in an oil change and he said sure. I also told him I would need to get it done by the latest 2:30, and it was 11 when I was talking to Marty. He promised it will be done before then. At 1:45, Marty called to let me know it was done. When I got there, Marty was very pleasant and gave me quite a bit of discount. The office is very cleaned and there was a candle burning to make the entire office smell very good. I've never been in an auto shop that smells like pumpkin spice! Needless to say, I'm very happy with the whole experience and Marty definitely is the nicest person I've ever dealt with at an auto shop.
