Short Review: Interiors and exteriors are both straight forward. The place is clean, organized, but a little cramped if it was crowded. They have a bar top and tables outside for those who wish to enjoy their food or drink outside. There service was good and their drinks were good, but perhaps, the most eye opening was the menu. For more details, read below. Long Review: I am very interested in their cup design for a few reasons. For one, it is sort of impractical, especially for adults with smaller hands or for younger kids. There is a reason why cups are designed to be taller and has smaller circumference for better one-hand grip. That being said, I get the feeling that their design in cups involves the title of their shop. While, it such a minor impracticality, I doubt people will complain about it. Upon entry, I think we were greeted, but I honestly was so focused on the menu that I didn't bother noticing anything else for awhile. The menu was very wide, but the most eye gathering was the images. Every single items listed has an image of what it would looks like. I have never seen such detailed menu in a boba shop before so this took me as a surprised. Just looking at the menu alone wants me to try out every single drinks that looks interesting. But as always, every time I try out a new boba shop, I gotta always try out their milk tea first. Milk tea or to be precise bubble/boba milk tea originated in Taiwan in the 1980s. While, it's true that other style of milk tea can be said to be originated somewhere in East of Asia, Taiwan was the first to do milk tea with boba. As anybody with the knowledge about boba drinks should know, there are variety types of milk teas such as Hong-Kong style milk tea and royal milk tea. And how British people came to know about milk tea and became a wide culture, such as tea parties is because British colonial was stationed at Hong Kong and ruled over them and protect them from China of communism, and learned their culture over time. After mulling for awhile, I finally decided to go with the Nagasaki Milk Tea with honey boba. My cousin got the Okinawa Milk Tea. Once ordered, both our drinks were done in less than 2 minutes. Nagasaki Milk Tea: This tea comprises of Jasmine and honey. I know about this drink from a boba shop called Lollicup in California. However, here, they done it better. I can taste the tea and honey and the milk fuse into it. The sweetness was just spot on. I taste the first month of spring. The cool breeze yet refined blossom of flowers, the wind gently blew as petals leaps openly and bees pollinating. That is the taste of Nagasaki. As for honey boba, I can taste the marinated boba. The sweet nectar of honey. While, not overwhelming, it's there to further enhance the milk tea. Although, the firmness of the boba is slightly hard, it still good enough for a good chew. Overall, an excellent milk tea and perhaps one of the top 5 that I would go to in Chandler. There also another location near Surprise which is actually a bit closer to my home than Chandler, but time will tell. Will have to revisit to try out other drinks and perhaps, try their shaved ice. read more

Mike D was raving about this place. He said it was his new favorite milk tea joint. When I arrived, there was a short line. The girl that took the orders was friendly an knowledgeable. Free add-on with Yelp check-in, woohoo! I've been a lavender kick so I ordered the lavender milk tea with raindrop pearls (aka crystal boba at other places). The milk tea comes in a fat container - I get it, it's a sumo theme - short and fat. It's a cool idea but not very functional if you're ordering it to go - it won't fit in most stock cup holders. It's not something that's easy to hold while you're drinking either. I guess you could buy one of their loyalty bottle for $3.00 and save 10% on each drink when you bring the clean loyalty bottle in. On to my actual drink - I didn't taste any lavender or tea in the milk tea. It was more like a very sweetened milk. Also, I didn't see very many raindrop pearls all. Maybe an off day? IDK. Hong Kong-style milk tea originates from British colonial rule over Hong Kong. Since my brother recently became an Elite Yelper [his nickname should be S-WoW], he's been wanting to try some new places. We enlisted our childhood friend to head on over to B.F.E. to try some Sumo Snow. So the three of us hopped onto the US-60 and drove far far into the northwest. Just a little more and we can go to Las Vegas, boys! Sumo Snow is a place claiming to serve Hong Kong-style milk tea. I'm intrigued! Strain that condensed milk or evaporated milk through that pantyhose and gimme! The use of condensed milk gives the tea a creamy and full-body feel. Thick like Rihanna, y'know?! Anyways, Sumo Snow made an okay HK-style milk tea. It didn't seem like they used condensed milk. The boba was soft and fresh. No frozen or mushy boba here! Wilson, my homie since I was a baby, got the Ube Snow for us to share. That thing was HUGE. The snow was so smooth and creamy and the ube pudding was a delight. It's very comparable to my favorite east valley snow place. Mix it up with the condensed milk, red bean, and graham cracker dust and enjoy! They didn't have any raindrop cake or ramen burritos the night we visited but they did have a unicorn ice cream cone that had two Pocky sticks, an ube cream puff, and ube ice cream all served on top of an ice cream cone! If I wasn't lactose intolerant and this place was within proper city limits, this place might be a placed I'd frequent the most. They have so many games and lots of Poppin' Cookin' Japanese candy kits! If they didn't follow me on Instagram, I wouldn't of noticed this dessert haven way out in Surprise. Okay, I will admit that our expectations were not high for boba in Surprise. This place was located right down the street from the retirement community where my in-laws live, so we gave it a try. Well, we were actually surprised. Not only were the soft serve and boba legit, but the diversity of folks in the store was pretty cool. The fam was craving some boba so we stopped by and holy wow, we all absolutely loved our drinks. I had the Nagasaki milk tea with honey boba based on another review and he was NOT wrong. It was flipping amazing. My husband got Thai Milk Tea, and sons got a Halo Halo and Tiramisu slushy, but the one that took all the prizes was the mango slushy with Mango Popping Boba that we all sampled and it was phenomenal. We have already been back to try other drinks and probably will make our way through the whole menu eventually. The only downside is that they have very limited hours so if you want some boba and it's a Tuesday, you're outta luck. Maybe they'll extend their hours at some point! read more

Cute little drink shop deep on the edge of Surprise. I do wish they had a better location more central within the west valley. Inside is very cute, clean and well organized. Their entire menu is photographs of the drinks available that day, which is very helpful when choosing. All of their drinks are wildly colored and visibly beautiful to look at. The only thing I'm concerned about is all the dye that's mixed in the drinks. I'm not against dyes or 'scared' of them in any way. It's just quite obvious that a passion fruit drink that's bright neon green is not natural. The cashier was extremely friendly and helpful. Probably one of the nicest cashiers I've ever encountered in an establishment. Not saying I don't ever meet nice people, but she was someone to remember. The drinks my boyfriend and I ordered were both delicious and extremely different to each other's liking. I enjoy very carbonated sweet drinks while he enjoys very tart/sour drinks. The place is very cute and modern. Good aesthetic and everything. But overall, it's average at best. I got a matcha latte and it was mostly milk. It was basically like drinking milk that had the slightest hint of matcha. I also got the Hot Cheeto Elote--it's good. Nothing too special but I ate it. I asked for more lime because it only comes with one tiny slice on top. They told me they can't give out slices of extra like then changed it to $1.50 for three small slices. Felt more like they cared about what they were able to profit on than customer service. Not sure if I'll be back. My family loves Sumo! It's so hard to find a place where you can spend great family time, talk with each other, play games, laugh and have tasty snacks and drinks. I love that they consistently rotate specialty items so there's always something new to try. Today my boys really enjoyed the chocolate Oreo smoothie. I went for the galaxy citrus with rainbow jellies. They usually have a daily sample to try which I love because I love to try new flavors, but don't always want to commit without any idea of what the taste may be. Service is always wonderful and earning points every purchase makes it a great way to start a loyal following. This place has it all. So fun! read more

If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. The service is absolutely terrible. The drinks are not premade yet they couldn't add light lemonade, or blend a drink, or add whipped cream. It was very weird, also the cashier did not know anything about the drinks. Jayden or jaden was the cashier he kept telling us to wait so he could ask the people in the back. I absolutely love the inside of this place. It's not too big and offers so much natural lighting for your typical boba pictures for Instagram. They have so many different options on drinks and ranges from teas, smoothies, milk teas, and interesting flavors I didn't recognize. I would like to try the activated charcoal drink the next time I go here. Their customer service is great and the drinks I have gotten were good. My top two drinks are definitely the Creme Brûlée Milk tea and their Pom Peach sparkling water with rainbow jelly. I put this to four stars because of their snack options and the price. I didn't care for their matcha cake roll as it tasted too artificial for me and their snow ice cream things are okay, too. I would definitely come here for just the drinks. I do think the price point is a little high since it's just one size and I don't think some of the drinks are worth $6 but if you're treating yourself once in a while it's not too bad. I've never felt so bad trying out new boba place because when I came here, I just had tooth surgery so I couldn't get the boba. So I asked the guy if the Aloe is as chewy as the boba because I couldn't chew the boba after the surgery and he was so nice, he told me no, it's not as chewy as the boba and gave me the sample to see if it's okay for me! But the bosa just really disagrees with both me AND my wife. We went with my two girls in mind and got them and awesome Oreo milkshake concoction. Had the best family day ever and wanted to wrap it up with trying something new. Walked in to Sumo Snow and to our surprise it was the cutest littlest trendiest place ever. It's like if Starbucks ran an after school program, but not. The place is as big as your belly button, but wile you wait for your order they have several retro games for you to play. The boys played the rock-em sock-em game, which they pulled off the shelf next to Stretch Armstrong. I ordered the Tropical Island and SBL (Sexy Bearded Lover) ordered the Carmel Cafe Cold Brew. SBL isn't a coffee drinker, but he thought mmmm this sounds amazing, and it was. It was served in these giant cups with the sticker lids you pop the straw through and it was definitely a manly serving. He said it was smooth and not too rich and that he would order it again; basically two thumbs up for the Carmel Cafe. The Tropical Island tastes like the best milk ever was frozen and then thinly shaved down to form this beautiful iced cream mound of perfection. It's lightly sweet and the most refreshing treat you could come across. Let's put it this way, once it touches the lips it's like you are whooshed away in to this hammock swaying sunset paradise situation. To make matters even more ridiculous on the "it's so good it's stupid meter" they top it off with this coconut like snow, (sigh) fresh pineapple and these silly little flavored gelatinous squares made only of love. The moment it all melts together in your mouth, is the moment Sumo Snow drops the mic, oh yea. I had never had a frozen treat that transported me to another time and place. It truly was its name, too bad there's not a frozen treat named "Hey I won the lottery and all my bills are paid" I would like to taste that goodness too if it were ever invented...Insert winky face here. We literally traveled great distance to experience this place only to learn they closing at 8:00pm on a Sunday. Smh.. The location was clean, the restroom was clean, the tables and counter was clean as well. The tables are of high quality fake looking wood, and the seats were fine metal. They had plenty of toys to keep you occupied, my favourite toy was the Superman VS Batman punching thing. Superman won of course, but I believe it's rigged Batman has a better reach.
