Saw pics from Yelper Paul C's post. The Curry Fried Rice looked really good. I'm not a big rice easter but do like Curry. Well bottom line is it was tasty and had a little heat. Rice was cooked perfect, and it was nicely presented. Overall service was great. Our server Joyce new who Paul was. We shared a few laughs. She bought us takeout boxes and went beyond the call and boxed our leftovers. The restaurant is clean and spacious and it has both table and counter seating. Located next L and L .Enjoy

As a townie, I typically don't see myself seeking food options outside the town area as I have a rotation of restaurants that I often frequent. However, I find myself in Kaneohe a lot because of my part time job and notice restaurants that I often pass by during the commute. Step in Sumo Ramen and Curry (SRC), a franchise that offers ramen, gyoza, curry and fried rice. They are located in Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center across Windward Mall, near Safeway, L&L, Panda's and Donut King. My personal favorites here are the fried rice and gyoza. I absolutely love the curry fried rice which has lots of char siu pork chunks, assorted veggies and that curry kick with a hint of spice and heat. What gets me is the wok hei that brings that smokiness, a sign of a talented chef cooking with high heat. The gyoza are made to order and it's addicting. The skins are thin (not a fan of thick and starchy wrappers) so it has a nice crunch and the accompanying dipping sauce is just right. Add some chili sauce to elevate that experience. Customer service here is fantastic. The female staff is cheerful and it's so hospitable here. I see her assisting customers the extra mile. I've seen her assist her customers to their car with large orders. SRC has multiple dining tables and a long counter where you can watch the fish swimming in a huge tank. Very bright and family oriented ambience here. When I'm craving fried rice SRC gets my attention. Food is consistent here with great service.

Friendly and funny server, he was very attentive and helpful to our group. The food was very fulfilling and tasty. Plenty of seating and space for everybody despite it being a smaller restaurant. Wide variety of ramens curry's and sides to choose from.

My husband wanted to eat curry fried rice. Thank you Paul C for the pictures he posted on yelp. So the server ask if we like spice and I told her if they can make it not to spicy she said why don't I order the mini char siu fried and and your husband can order the mini curry fried rice I said ok. She said you can taste the curry fried rice and see if you like the spice level. We also ordered the gyoza and fried calamari she was right I took a bite and it's was spicy to me. I ask her what was her name she said it's Joyce. I said my friend works next door and she said he's so nice he always order food from them and she order food from him. She said nice guy. Yes he's a nice guy. She's Very nice and pleasant and made my ordering much easier. Thank you again Paul C for the pics you posted.

Came in here for a late night ramen and curry combo after a rainy day. I was worried about coming in with 30 minutes until closing but while we were looking at the menu outside the window, the staff seemed eager and willing for us to order. We ordered the ramen and mochiko chicken curry rice combo that also comes with gyoza. I love being able to get a bit of everything, perfect for people who can never decide on what to eat! The combo portions of each dish are actually a good size. Me and my boyfriend shared the combo between the both of us and our only regret was not ordering extra gyoza. I can see their combo being able to feed like 3 kids or being multiple meals for someone with a small appetite. Is it the best ramen on the island? No, but it's comforting and hits the spot more than an instant ramen. The mochiko chicken was juicy and crispy, but not burnt! Paired with curry and rice - ultimate comfort meal. Gyoza was steamed and lightly fried to perfection. Once again, my only regret was not getting an extra order of gyoza! The ambiance is really giving local mom & pop ramen shop. You feel like you're in an extension of their home- with pictures of their kids on the wall and just on overall homey vibe.

The food wasn't terrible the ramen was a little watery but just some food to come and get real quick while waiting on my car. The waiters wasn't to bad either!

I think Vietnamese food just isn't our cup of tea. The Spring roll was good but I didn't care for the chicken I got as it had a sweet flavor profile. I won't be returning.

Big portions and good customer service but the food was not that good. Fried rice had no flavor and the curry was just too sweet.

There were fly traps hanging from the ceiling, which was quite unpleasant to see while trying to eat. Strangely, the staff was mopping the floor right next to occupied tables during a busy late-night rush. The menus also smelled like a dirty bathroom; I couldn't hold mine for more than a minute without gagging. While the staff was quick and the food came out fast, the kitchen was disorganized. They forgot our miso soup and brought out edamame instead of the menma (bamboo shoots) we ordered. We had the gomoku ramen, spicy beef ramen, gyoza, lemon tea, a side of menma, and shrimp tempura udon. The gyoza and lemon tea were delicious, but they couldn't outweigh the negatives. According to my family, two out of the three soups tasted like dish soap. We were too exhausted after work to send them back, but it was honestly gross. To top it off, the single-stall unisex bathroom had that same foul odor. I wouldn't recommend Daiichi Ramen. Serving 'dish soap soup' is unacceptable in food service. You're better off heading to the nearby Burger King or Safeway for late-night eats.

So of course, I was in the area and I am a biiiig ramen lover, I had to try this location. I've tried an abundant of ramen from Noods, but my go-to is their vegan ramens because they have so many options and I could use a little vegan meal in my life every now and then (because of my acne). The ambiance may not be a restaurant, but it's ramen, you can't be asking for much, just good food and good place to enjoy. Since this location is in a food court, it's gotta have fast service, which it did. Service is also a lot more simple than the restaurant because over here you order in one area and then you have to pick it up at the other end when it's ready. The food court provides ample seating, but I suggest grabbing a seat first before ordering so that you get a table near the ramen bar and you don't have to walk far with a large bowl of ramen across a busy food court. Overall, the ramen(s) I've eaten here have lived up to the standard I expect from Noods, which is great. This means you don't have to go all the way to Kaimuki to get some good, quality ramen.
