Love that chow mein noodles. Love comming here for the food I want without having to order as an entree.

Three choices-Fried Rice and Chow Funn, Stuffed Bittermelon, Sweet Sour Pork, Duck

I visited Kin Sun on Friday, 1/31/25, at 11:40a to pick up lunch and placed a take out order. The shop was bustling with people getting their Chinese New Year fare. Unfortunately, today they didn't have my stuffed Bittermelon that I always get when I come here. But, today they had Gau that was on sale. I purchased that, and it was soft and sweet, the way I enjoy it. Thus, I ordered a 1/2 pound of Char Sui that was brimming with juiciness. It was indeed flavorful. I also got a plate filled with 1/2 chow fun and 1/2 a serving of fried rice. The starches went well with my 3 choices of entrees. I got the roast duck, fried shrimp, and Chinese sour cabbage. The duck was succulent and had so much flavor. The fried shrimp was soft and the shrimp shell had a nice crunch to it. The Chinese cabbage dish was crisp and sweet and sour. Our service was quick, and they now accept credit cards since my last review 6 years ago. Overall, this is a great place to get take out Chinese Food with great variety and flavor.

Fantastic roast pork and char siu! Came before a visit to my parents house and per dad's request I had to stop here! Moist roast pork with a perfect crunch and perfectly cooked char siu! Amazing! If you're down the windward side and looking for either, this is a great spot to stop at!

I love this place. I came here on a Sunday with a craving for Chinese food and have always had good food at Kin Sun. When you enter and see the prepared foods behind the glass it is hard not to buy anything because the food looks so fresh and delicious. I chose chow fun over the fried rice this time but the fried rice looked Ono. I chose a 2 choice lunch plate with sweet sour pig's feet and tripe. I enjoyed the pig's feet and the flavor of the sweet sour was on the mild side which I liked. The tripe I liked better, cooked to a perfect doneness and it had a spiciness to it which I liked. I had a hard time deciding on my choices because all of the food looked so good. I will be returning soon guaranteed,

A hole-in-the-wall that reminds me of a Chinese takeout place back home, but with even more selection! Their meat entrees are solid choices: pork with crispy pork skin, BBQ pork, and duck. They even had fresh slabs of the rice sponge cake dessert that reminded me of my childhood! Noodles were okay (kind of dry) and the veggie dishes were very saucy. In general, this is a great Chinese takeout spot to check out if you're in the area and need to grab a quick bite.

My husband was craving for roast duck and gau gee so we went ahead and tried this place out for the first time and grabbed some before heading home this evening. First of all, they're doing something right with the roast duck! There's no gamey smell and no gamey taste! Already a winner in my book! I had my kids try it and they thought it was chicken! They loved it!

This restaurant is conveniently located at Windward City on the Starbucks end of the shopping center and has a lot of parking, it was a rainy day today and I was craving some nice warm soup. My father and I decided to try their won ton mein for the first time. It was excellent! It was so good, I dove right in and forgot to take a photo of my won ton mein! We got it to go. It cost 30 cents extra for separate soup but well worth it because they gave a lot of soup! My dad enjoyed the won ton mein saying the won tons were huge and tasty and char siu was excellent as well as a tasty soup w no msg. The won ton mein was $10 and had 6 won tons, several pieces of yummy char siu, some won bok, and yummy noodles and soup, I noticed they have reasonable prices for party trays. $29 for a small tray of gon lo mein, perfect for a potluck. I have to try their 2 choice plates next time!

Thought I've review this eatery before. Well anyway they are located in the Windward City Shopping Cntr. Between Starbucks and Kozo Sushi. Closer to Kozo. Its mostly take out but have a couple of tables for dine in. They have char sui, roast pork and roast duck hanging on display. I've bought these items for the Super Bowl parties. Love them all. On the buffet counter they have Jai ( Chinese New year staple). About twelve other items to choose from. Service has always been good even when really busy. Stay safe.

The servers here smile and are friendly. We did have a pre-order issue, though. Since I arrived early to make sure everything was set, it was an easy recovery but still disappointing. One pre-order dish was egg fu yong. While the server was reviewing the order with me, she said they didn't have it that day. I told her I wasn't notified when I pre-ordered like I was told "no steamed fish" but I just increased the quantities for the other items and it was seamless for the rest of the guests. She did say but I ordered early enough to get my Peking duck. (If we didn't get that I would have them been pretty annoyed.) Food: Not quite as good as last Christmas but still good. Minute chicken cake noodle - chicken was a bit dry and a little tough. Noodles, gravy, Choi sum was good. Soft gau gee mein (family loves our noodles) was better - very tasty, but the gravy was overflowing and spilling all over. Peking duck - half duck, with buns. Came with the customary plum (hoisin) sauce but no green onions/scallions. Not the same without it but was good. Duck skin was crispy, duck meat wasn't dry. Shrimp chips were stale, though. Walnut shrimp was good. Shrimp was slightly overcooked but not enough to matter. Beef broccoli was very good, but not sure they gave us two orders, seemed small compared to the other dishes which we had upped from 1-1/2 to 2. Overall, it's challenging to get good Chinese food now days so we were all satisfied with the food, good service, and the ease of having the dishes come out timely. Hopefully the next time the food will have gone back up in quality and I can give 4 stars.

The staff are nice and friendly, which isn't always the case at a Chinese restaurant. BTW, don't place an online order too early; they might miss it. It's on par with one I get from Golden Duck on King St. I prefer the food at K***** on the other side of Kaneohe but I much prefer the parking at New Mui Kwai. Plus, it's much closer to my home and more convenient when visiting my mom. New Mui Kwai is a solid, old school Chinese restaurant. I'll keep coming back so I suppose that's a recommendation from me. The pasta was organic and all homemade from peculiar natural ingredients including moringa, taro, sweet potato, bread fruit, avocado, and local saimin. The one serving us was so nice and attentive, which indeed seemed to be needed here given how rich selections they offered. You got the option to pick your own choice of pasta, sauce, and protein or went for their combo. We opted for the latter as we got their Lechon Malunggay Pasta, which was Moringa pasta with roasted pork belly. Portion was HUGEEE and certainly shareable unless your appetite was so big. Meat to pasta ratio was also super general. The pork was cooked to perfection with flawlessly crispy skin yet juicy meat. The pasta came in just the right texture and was already flavorful on its own. You could pick spiciness level for which we took mild and we thought we should've gone for spicy.
