Char Siu Combo
Brennan H.

Called to order takeout and phone was answered promptly and order was taken quickly. Food was ready in 10-15 min. Definitely great for a quick meal! Pickup was fast and the checkout transaction was quick and friendly. I ordered the chair shiu combo with a side of gyoza (6 piece). There was so much chicken katsu and fried rice! Definitely impressed with the portion size. I forgot to take a picture as I was making a plate of the chicken katsu and fried rice but you can see how much is given. This is enough to feed 2-3 people! The chicken katsu was crispy and juicy. The curry had a good flavor as well. The gyoza was super flavorful and the sauce was just right. Super stuffed after this meal! I'll definitely be back the next time I'm craving this!

Yum!

The gyoza and friend rice were amazing!!! I like a little more spice in my ramen and I wasn't exactly sure what to add to it from the table to make it taste spicier, but the ramen was also yummy! I would definitely come back!! Can't wait to try the curry too since it looked delicious!

Kimchee mixed plate

Kimchee mixed plate. Another great menu item! Somehow in my many visits to this great restaurant, I didn't see this Kimchee Mixed Plate! There were generous portions of each item, including the kim chee which was delicious with just the right amount of spiciness. I love the fried rice here. It has a good amount of meat and egg in it - very flavorful. The gyoza here is my favorite of all the restaurants I frequent. Chicken Katsu is well made-not oily and again, a generous portion. There are 2 layers of katsu on the plate I have pictured.

Small restaurant in shopping center. Service was good. Plenty of seats and was not packed when I went. I had gyozas and the Katsu chicken curry wish based off other reviews was their most popular dish. The gyozas were same as you would get anywhere else. The Chicken was crispy and tasted good. The curry taste is ok, it's was good but not as flavorful as I expected from the reviews. All in all a good meal but can't say I'd go out of my way for it.

First time patrons @ this Curry & Ramen Restaurant. Our server was very pleasant & accommodating. We ordered Kim Chee Fried rice, 6 pieces of Gozaya & Mochico Chicken Curry. Rice came out first a good amount on a round plate. Taste was all good, as you could taste the Kim Chee pieces, char sui , green onions, rice was cooked in a wok , so temperate was hot! The Mochiko chicken & Curry was spot on! Delicious Japanese brown curry over white rice ! Yum!! Gozaya was nice and brown on the outside & soft inside. They had a chili sauce in oil & Japanese style red chili pepper on the table as condiments, asked our server if he had anything hotter, he said Sriracha, no thank you! Ian brought out two containers of Reaper & Red scorpion peppers, now those are hot! Enjoyed Ian's generosity & excellent customer service. Restaurant is clean & noticed a lot of take out carry boxes in the dining room.Open in 2000 this family eatery lacks storage space but as long as the food is good, they are doing a good job!

Gyoza 4 Pieces

A place that does the basics as goods a you can possibly do. A chance encounter while walking aimlessly in Kaneohe. With the idea of getting a sandwich for lunch, I walked past Ayame and did a quick check on Yelp. I was encouraged by the many positive reviews. Reviews I agree with. The food: simple combo of gyoza and chicken katsu curry rice. It didn't take long to get my order. The flavors were good. The chicken cooked through, moist, not overcooked. The rice done right with that light chew, slight bounce. The service: Attentive and personal. I was listening to another group of patrons, who come back every week, ask the staff how his vacation went. It was a fairly long conversation only interrupted by the telephone. I was checked several times to make sure I was ok, and not just a passing ask. I felt welcome and I'm sure you'd too.

This place is the BOMB !! 10/10 super authentic ramen whew the broth blew me away the noodles were so flavorful! We also ordered the pineapple chicken katsu fried rice also 10/10 !! Everything we ordered was just of the highest quality! The people were working were so joyful and just excited to explain the menu to us and had no issue modifying our orders. Small restaurant easy to pass up if you're looking for a great quality ramen give this place a try you won't regret it !

Curry dishes were good! Chicken katsu so crispy and delicious! Rice was cooked to perfection. Our waiter was funny, making jokes. He also was patient in explaining their menu. Good atmosphere in restaurant.

I came here last night with my boyfriend to celebrate an overdue ruined birthday back in January. This place was well worth it. They had the combos which included ramen of different flavors of your choice. Along with sides depending on how much food you can finish. I ended up getting combo B which had ramen. I chose Shoyu. I also got the gyoza that comes with it and a curry plate. I chose the mochico chicken. Everything was so delicious. My boyfriend also got an appetizer which was the fried eggplant. So light in the batter. This was a good choice. I drank everything with a can of diet Coke. Service was good by our waitress. She was super nice. The guy was nice too. Parking is across the street. Highly recommend

Homemade gyoza and kakiage (veggie fritters)
Cherish Y.

The customer service is always above and beyond... just like the food! Their gyoza is fresh and homemade just like their wontons. Don't sleep on the kakiage (veggie fritters). The sauceis bright and complimented the fried fritter. We love coming here because the hours are great, prices are amazing and the experience is consistent.

The food here is very tasty and the portion size is very big too. The prices for their dishes are very reasonable and not too expensive. The Mapo Tofu Curry Rice and the Chicken Katsu Curry Rice dishes were very tasty. The service from the staff was very good. The staff were very friendly. The ambiance is very quaint and chill.

Combo B with mini tonkotsu ramen, unagi don, and 4 gyoza. Also a side of mochiko chicken
Kristen K.

Ayame Curry & Ramen is a Kaneohe staple that I grew up with. Surprisingly, despite being around for decades, they've stayed consistent and if anything are even better than before? Don't get me wrong, it's just that this time I noticed that I feel like their food went from "average" to "pretty dang good" over the years without me noticing. Like I would invite a friend or date for dinner here, not only my old last-minute family dinners. If that makes sense! lol My mom loves their shrimp fried rice and goes to order it to go regularly. When I'm on island and have a chance to go, I usually go for the combo with a small tonkotsu ramen and unagi don (has an additional charge), which also comes with gyoza. The portions are good and sometimes I end up taking leftovers home. Prices have gone up but so have all the restaurants since the pandemic. The staff are kind and friendly. The seating layout is open, fun, welcoming, and clean. We visited on a weekday evening and there were a pretty good number of people eating in there too. I'm glad to see Ayame is still doing well and wish them all the best!

So of course, I was in the area and I am a biiiig ramen lover, I had to try this location. I've tried an abundant of ramen from Noods, but my go-to is their vegan ramens because they have so many options and I could use a little vegan meal in my life every now and then (because of my acne). The ambiance may not be a restaurant, but it's ramen, you can't be asking for much, just good food and good place to enjoy. Since this location is in a food court, it's gotta have fast service, which it did. Service is also a lot more simple than the restaurant because over here you order in one area and then you have to pick it up at the other end when it's ready. The food court provides ample seating, but I suggest grabbing a seat first before ordering so that you get a table near the ramen bar and you don't have to walk far with a large bowl of ramen across a busy food court. Overall, the ramen(s) I've eaten here have lived up to the standard I expect from Noods, which is great. This means you don't have to go all the way to Kaimuki to get some good, quality ramen.

There were fly traps hanging from the ceiling, which was quite unpleasant to see while trying to eat. Strangely, the staff was mopping the floor right next to occupied tables during a busy late-night rush. The menus also smelled like a dirty bathroom; I couldn't hold mine for more than a minute without gagging. While the staff was quick and the food came out fast, the kitchen was disorganized. They forgot our miso soup and brought out edamame instead of the menma (bamboo shoots) we ordered. We had the gomoku ramen, spicy beef ramen, gyoza, lemon tea, a side of menma, and shrimp tempura udon. The gyoza and lemon tea were delicious, but they couldn't outweigh the negatives. According to my family, two out of the three soups tasted like dish soap. We were too exhausted after work to send them back, but it was honestly gross. To top it off, the single-stall unisex bathroom had that same foul odor. I wouldn't recommend Daiichi Ramen. Serving 'dish soap soup' is unacceptable in food service. You're better off heading to the nearby Burger King or Safeway for late-night eats.

We got the Sweet Potato Noodles with Garlic Butter and Lechon. Gracious, it was delicious. Worth every penny. The lechon was crispy, tender, and flavorful. She seemed like she was not too fond of tourists at all. To make things worse, there is no indoor seating. Since we were so far from our hotel, we ended up having to eat the food in our car. The food itself had massive highs and lows. The Lechon Pork Belly was amazing and delicious. I wish it had a few more purple onions, but the meat itself was a solid 10/10. However, the Garlic Butter Shrimp was horrible. It was probably the worst I have had in a very long time. The large photos on the actual menu inside the restaurant show large, unpeeled shrimp. What we actually got was small, already-peeled shrimp that tasted more like freezer burn than actual garlic butter. The service issues continued when I picked up the food. I noticed my Coke was missing and asked for it. The lady handing out the food asked the cashier if I had been charged for a soda, and the cashier said no. I know for a fact I paid for it after doing the math myself. There were other people waiting in line behind me, so I just said forget it, took my food, and left. Go for the pork belly, but skip the shrimp, double-check your receipt, and prepare for a cold shoulder at the counter.
