The teriyaki chicken was nicely grilled and delicious. The 3-item bento boxes arrived soon after. All the kitchen items were very good. The teriyaki beef was surprisingly tender, and the tempura had a nice variety of vegetables. As for the sashimi, it was fresh and thickly cut. I was very pleased with both the quality and quantity. I tried some of the food from my brother's bento boxes. It was delicious as well. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and we received good service from them. The total, with T/T, was just under $100. For the amount of food we got, I thought it was very reasonable. Their popularity is not without merit. If you decide to come here, you can expect a good dining experience in a comfortable setting that won't break your bank. Give this spot a shot! 5 stars. Service was efficient and friendly. The thing that is the most disappointing is the *quality* of the fish, and not necessarily the *type* of fish served. They were just not very fresh and have a very mild hint of "almost going bad" taste. It was the tuna, all other seemed acceptable. And acceptable meaning very mediocre in quality... you could probably get better/ same at Whole Foods. Between the two of us, we opted for the following: (1.) Menu had several party tray options and I hurriedly placed the order online thinking I ordered a specific tray (D) with several raw fish rolls I liked but I had picked E which was mostly cooked. I called back asking if they can change it but they already made it so I decided to let it be. Upon pick up I saw that they had added a sashimi sampler on the house - wow what a nice and generous gesture! Very much appreciated that as well as the beautiful presentation of the tray. The cooked rolls were pretty good and I got to enjoy some of the sashimi with them. I'll definitely order from them again and this time will get the D tray. Thanks Ichiko for a great first time experience!

After checking Yelp for restaurants that served soba, we discovered that our favorite sushi spot had them on the menu! We ordered the roasted garlic edamame, Lion King roll, miso soup, soba noodles, and the salmon teriyaki combo with California roll. The portions were generous- more than enough for the three of us- and we even had leftover noodles, salmon, and rice for later. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and hit the spot. No, it's not trying to be a luxury omakase counter, but the feeling is familiar in the best way. There's the same sense of care, consistency, and pride in every dish. The flavors feel thoughtful, balanced, and made with real respect for the food. Honestly, in the East Bay, this is one of the closest experiences we've found to that kind of Japanese comfort and care without driving into San Francisco and paying ten times more for omakase. That's why we keep coming back decade after decade. The food is always satisfying, the quality is consistently there, and Tony and his family make every visit feel special.
