We ordered papaya salad, drunken noodles, holy basil beef, and the tilapia with eggplant. All dishes were delicious and not even a morsel left. The noodles are bouncy and flavorful. The tilapia with eggplant plant has nice sized fish prices that are fried then added to the dish to absorb the yummy sauce. Papaya salad was fresh and peanut-y. If you're a Thai food beginner, I recommend the base spice. If you like spicy foods, order a 1 spice or maybe up to 2 if you love the spicy kick. Anything hotter, I wouldn't recommend but maybe ask for the chili flakes separately and add to your tolerance. read more

I have been coming to Summit Thai for about a decade, as I grew up in a neighboring town. The staff are very kind and attentive, and know me by name. Everyone I have met is very sweet and their service if you eat in is very fast, extremely reasonably priced, and overall unparalleled. Summit Thai is my boyfriend and my go-to restaurant when we are in the area. His favorite is the drunken noodle with beef, mine is as well. I have started to venture more of the menu but the drunken noodle is so good that my boyfriend actually hasn't tried any other food item, and we have been coming here together for almost three years! A personal favorite of ours is the curry puffs and thai iced tea, in terms of appetizers/drinks. If you don't know what to order, Pat Sharon or other staff will answer any questions you have, and make recommendations based on customer preferences. Everything I have ever eaten has been amazing as well. The interior of the restaurant is a very calm, warm atmosphere. I believe they typically play jazz, which is a wonderful touch. I hate giving three stars to one of my favorite spots, but I was recently disappointed in my takeout order. I used to go here frequently for lunch and enjoyed the lunch special. Today I got take out and was disappointed. I ordered spring rolls and red Thai curry for $26.00. There were only three spring rolls and they were disappointing. The red curry was good, but the vegetables were undercooked. Had the place all to ourselves We come down to shop at Kam Man and we usually eat in the market but they no longer offer the lunch special. Then we usually would just walk over to Penang but decided to try something else today. I've seen Summit Thai as we drive in many times. It's about half a mile away from Kam Man so we drove over to check it out. Glad we did! We ordered hot tea and Thai iced tea. Hubby ordered Beef Massaman Curry. The potatoes in this dish was a little undercooked the chef came out and was very apologetic. He made a new order of the potatoes, and this time it was perfect. I ordered the Duck Nam Jim. This is crispy duck with a cilantro sauce. I've been to many Thai places but this is by far the best duck dish ever. We were looking for a place for Thai food on Sunday, and decided to check out the reviews on here. They were good, so we figured we'd go and see how safe we felt to eat in the restaurant. It was fine at around 4:45 on Sunday afternoon. All staff wore masks, and the service was outstanding. We tried the fried dumplings, and they were hot and delicious. My chicken pad see ew was perfectly spiced and a wonderful portion. The only criticism is that there was very little Chinese broccoli - I would have loved a little more. It's rare for me to give a five-star review, but this experience definitely deserved it. Our server was familiar with my cousin and his wife, who are regulars and always order the same dish. She was friendly, funny, and an absolute delight to interact with. My cousin jokingly said we were ruining his reputation, but the server clearly enjoyed herself, joking around with us as well. I said 3 and I was very sorry lol I should have gotten a 2 or maybe even a 1, that's how on fire my mouth was. Was recently having a conversation with a friend about how there's a big range in the quality of takeout pad thai - sometimes the sauce is too limey, too fishy, sometimes a place will swap out the noodles with vermicelli etc. Happy to report Summit Thai does it just right! I got the lunch special here with the pad thai. While it's a lunch special it only comes with a salad or a spring roll and still comes out to 15 bucks so it's not that much of a deal. However, the pad thai portion was very large and delicious. Perfect balance of citrus, fish sauce and veg - ate it at my desk like a squirrel preparing for hibernation. My wife and I sat in for lunch and were really happy with the food and quick service. Ordered the PAD THAI and BASIL FRIED RICE lunch specials. We both chose the salad with peanut dressing (they have a spring roll option, as well). Pad Thai was moist and full-flavored, good amount of noodles without too much bean sprouts. Conveniently located on Rt 10, upon walking in you are immediately greeted by the friendly staff. The restaurant is nicely decorated with Thai decor. I love that they have lunch specials on Saturday, a lot of places don't do that and I hope they never stop. Green Curry used to be my go-to dish until I learned how to make it myself. I typically go for the Kee Mao now with hot sauce on the side and with the lunch specials - you can choose Chicken dumpling, spring roll or a Thai salad with peanut dressing as a starter. Prices are so reasonable and affordable for the amount of food you get. The food comes out really quick, luckily every time I've been here, it has not been insanely crowded. I stopped by Summit Thai around 12:30 noon on a Saturday to grab lunch with friends I haven't seen in a while, and there was no one sitting indoors when I arrived. We got temperature checks and wrote down information for contact tracing, and were immediately seated and handed menus. The waitresses were very nice, and food came out promptly, hot and fresh. I personally enjoyed my Kee Mao lunch (unfortunately lunch prices do not work on weekends), although spicy level 4 is not really spicy. And spicy level 4 is the highest spice level, apparently...Having been to Thailand, that may have been a 1, but that depends on preference, hahaha. Really Great Thai food that is one of my favorite places to grab a delicious lunch that's close to work. The Maple Salmon is extremely tasty with perfectly fried crispy Salmon pieces in an amazing maple chili sauce with cashew nuts and vegetables It's got a slight spice to it but definitely could be hotter in my humble opinion. My colleague enjoys his tofu and said that his dish was the best tofu meal that he ever had. The fried chicken dumplings were perfectly prepared and very delicious, I could eat like 20 of these. Although Thankfully they only give you three. Service is extremely prompt, I don't think our water glasses ever got below 3/4's full they are totally on point here, very friendly as well. My parents have continued to take out from Summit Thai and they haven't complained about pricing, so I assume that means we don't have to worry anymore. They made my squid dish actually the spice level I wanted, which is rare. The dumplings were great. Duck skin was crispy. I noted in my first review that the food was good, and that certainly remains the hallmark here. On the basis of further sampling I've decided to upgrade my review to "Buy". Wow. I can confidently say that I have finally found the best Thai restaurant for Pad Kee Mao AKA Drunken Noodles in New Jersey. I went to this restaurant on a random Tuesday night and surprisingly had it all to myself. The servers were so friendly and the food came out quick (which I'm sure in part has to do with me being the only person in the restaurant lol) either way, I will definitely be back. East Hanover really has good Asian cuisine nailed down and Summit Thai is no exception. I'm a big fan of Thai food and Summit Thai delivers on all the staples plus yummy desserts. The noodle dishes are all nicely prepared with spiciness prepared to the level you request. I ordered a beef garlic dish and it was exactly what I want - topped with fresh garlic and prepared to perfection. We also had chicken satay appetizer and let me tell you, the chicken was moist, grilled to perfection, and served with awesome sauces. The icing on the cake was the mango with sticky white rice which is probably my favorite dessert of all time and available at Summit. I really hate it when Thai restaurants list this dish on their menu but then don't have it available, so thank you Summit Thai for not falsely advertising and getting this girl's hopes up for no reason.
