Loved the deck/patio. Ours had a hot tub which in the evening was perfect in the 60s.

Beautiful log cabin located right next to hiking trails. The owner & his wife have added a few more additions, including a new management company that has JUST taken over. I love the views of the mountains, woods, Lake Dillon and even some wildlife! Great location and ambience. The hot tub is incredible to relax in at night and gaze up at the stars! This is an amazing place for a mountain getaway for family and friends. I can't wait to get everyone out here! read more

We rented the North and South Summit Peak Lodges December 26th to Jan 2nd. When we arrived the property managers were not aware we were even coming. The lodges had not been cleaned since September according to the condition of the lodges and the information we got from talking to the cleaning service who told us they had not cleaned since September. Toilets were soiled, dust and dirt everywhere. Driveway was not plowed, North lodge refrigerator, dishwasher, and fireplace were all broken, South lodge had hide a beds with no mattress, again uncleaned, managers living in the lower level when we were to check in, and the owner just kept saying his property was in perfect condition. Rent at your own risk, do not pay until you get there, and make sure to speak to the property managers not the owner before you pay any money. read more

I wonder why all of the positive reviews were filtered out - weird. I actually have no major qualms about this place. It is conveniently located within walking distance of a free shuttle stop (that connects to most ski mountains and villages). The free shuttle for the Breckenridge/Arapaho/Frisco/etc. area is outstanding. The place was being renovated, but that did not really cramp my style in any way. In fact, I was the beneficiary of new bed linens - huzzah! My private could have slept four comfortably - a queen and two bunk beds. The only thing is that there are no private bathrooms. The owner was super cool and it turned out we were both from Michigan. The location is surrounded by the picturesque Rockies (I took plenty of pictures) and an outlet mall, if that is your cup of tea. The shuttle ride to Breck is a trek, though. That would be my only hesitation about this place. That said, this was way cheaper than stuff closer and that was a compromise I was willing to make. read more

Bradford, This letter serves as a second and final communication to you about the dissatisfaction with our rental experience at Summit Peaks. This letter will be sent certified and signature required to ensure that you receive the letter. Cheryle Ericksen and Susan Ericksen signed a contract which designates a relationship between the above parties and the owner. The contract that we signed implies that we were your guests and as such you owe us a duty of reasonable care in keeping the premises free of dangers, such as screws in the carpet, broken glass in the dishwasher, working appliances, and sidewalks and driveways being free from ice and snow. In not insuring that the property was ready to be inhabited at the contracted date and free from dangerous situations, you have violated both your duty of reasonable care as well as the implied warranty of habitability. You have violated the inherent responsibilities and duties as a landlord/innkeeper owed to your tenants and as such establishing the contract null and void. We are asking for a 50 % refund of all fees paid in full prior to our inhabiting your rental property. If both parties have not received their requested refund by February 16th we will be enlisting legal support and will be asking for a full refund for both parties as supported by the evidence and documents sent to you earlier. My mom actually had to go to small claims court to get a partial refund. She won! The judge agreed the place was so poorly maintained that she would not want to stay there. I am very very disappointed we had to go to the extreme hassle of going to court to get a refund and only a partial one at that. This is just really bad business on the part of Brad, the owner. I would have expected an immediate refund and apology for the poor conditions not a court battle. I caution anyone thinking of renting this place to steer clear and find another place that is better maintained there are a lot of them in Silverthorne. read more

I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. I give this review 2 stars simply because the lodges are a nice idea for large groups and my friends generally enjoyed their stay, but it should be a 1-star based on our dealings with the owner/manager of the cabins. We rented the cabins so our friends could all be together for our wedding at a nearby venue. About 3 months out, we realized we would not be able to fill both cabins as anticipated and called to see if we could cancel one of the cabins. We felt bad about cancelling but were within the 90-day cancellation period stated in the contract. After working something out with the owner, we agreed to cancel one of the cabins, pay a cancellation fee, and keep the other. After our conversation we sent him a confirmation email regarding what we thought would be the cost of one cabin and the cancellation fee based on the contract we signed with him initially. He never responded to this email and we assumed everything was okay. One month prior to the wedding we received a phone call saying that he was going to charge us $1,500 more (because he was giving us a "discount" prior that he was no longer giving us), he also tried to make us pay other types of fees we had never spoken about previously. He said all of this is because he couldn't find another renter for the other cabin--which obviously should not have impacted the price of our cabin at that time as we had cancelled and paid a fee to do so. After a few stressful phone calls back and forth, having no real other choice, we agreed to pay a few extra fees and a $1000 refundable damage deposit. When my friends arrived, the refrigerator in the main kitchen was not working and the hot tub was half-filled and smelled terrible. They tried to contact the owner and a repair person for both, they came, but did not actually fix the problems and my guests went the 5 days without being able to use either. I have now (almost 3 weeks after checking out) asked for my damage deposit to be mailed back to me in full, which he said he would mail back to us if there was no damage (and there was none), but he simply responded "it is voided." If you try to rent these cabins, expect little to no customer service, frequent non-responsiveness, and general frustration. read more

Rented two rooms in the Summit West. Neither was clean and the smell was unbearable. Couldn't stomach 10 minutes in them let alone an entire week. Rented rooms at a hotel down the street. The on site manager said they wouldn't have any problem using the rooms. Afterward, owner said they didn't rent them (gee, I wonder why), and wouldn't refund any money. Suitable for college students but not families (especially ones with an infant like us). read more

Upon arrival the dumpster was full and overflowing. Trash everywhere. Called proper manager and was only told "thank you". No commitment to remediate and no apologies. read more

We just made another visit to Summit Peaks Lodge (South this time). Our other review never got posted, and we wonder why??? This stay earlier this month (June 2012) was fabulous. The highlight this time was the new catered dinner offered on the web site by chef Steve. We had the most fabulous meal for 10 which was one of our best dinners while we were in Silverthorne. Loved the nearby hikes each morning too. read more

We have stayed at Summit Peaks Lodges multiple times and have had a great experience every time. These are large places with plenty of room for big families to hang out without being on top of each other, the location is super convenient to I-70 and shopping while still supplying an undisturbed setting literally out the back door. Brad was easy to work with and made getting into town and right to the lodge a breeze. read more
