The pool area is spectacular, offering breathtaking views of the mountains and the Eagle River. It's the perfect place to relax and take in the beauty of Colorado. The rooms are excellent and thoughtfully designed. Having an in-room ice machine, coffee maker, microwave, and sink made our stay even more comfortable and convenient. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great Colorado getaway. Between the amazing amenities, stunning scenery, and exceptional service, the Westin delivers a first-class experience.

All of our guests stayed here and everyone raved about the quality of accommodation, the attentiveness of service, superb amenities, exceptional on-premise dining, and the delight of ski-in / ski-out at a world-class mountain. The rooms here are very well appointed and the staff ensures that every possible need is attended to. From the crew at the valet station, the concierge desk (who host daily après ski hot chocolate and fresh-baked cookie parties!), the housekeeping team, the ski valets, the spa attendants, and all of the wonderful F&B folks, the service here is impeccable. The hotel amenities include an elegant spa, well-equipped gym, pilates and yoga studios, heated salt water pool, and three infinity hot tubs that are perfect for après ski soaking. Of particular note, the Westin has updated its Ski Valet shop which offers faultless service for those availing themselves of the Beaver Creek Ski resort. The valets bring your skis to the Gondola which is right outside the door! The lobby bar, the Lookout Bar, and the Stoke and Rye served our guests with superbly crafted food and drink. It should be mentioned that Chef Richard Sandoval is leaving so Stoke & Rye is being repurposed into an Italian eatery under the guidance of a new Chef - we look forward to experiencing this new venue. We held an arrival dinner for our guests in a private space - the Osprey Room - and the food, drink, and ambiance were exceptional. The room was cozy yet spacious and created a warm, welcoming environment for our guests who traveled from all three coasts. We want to make particular mention of our hostess, Sonja Eichenberger. Sonja managed every aspect of our affair, ensuring every dimension of a large party was attended to the last detail. Sonja listened to the Bride's comments and discerned solutions that were both creative and thoughtful. We had several dignitaries in our party - two Senators, a US Attorney, and a Fox News commentator - and Sonja saw to it that consideration was made for both their privacy and security. Much of the success of our special event rests with Sonja. The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa at Avon is an exquisitely fashionable property but it is the staff that makes the experience special. Thank you Sonja for making our week at the Westin a lifelong memory!

There are definitely a few pros and cons to this place, so hopefully it'll help you make a decision…read morefor yourself as if this place is right for you - Pros: Location - if you are here to ski or want a great central location to get anywhere you need to go, it's perfect! Walking, bus ride or driving... no more than 15 mins Clean - the place was spotless the moment we entered the room, and about every 2 days we had everything replaced in the room. The hotel also was very clean. Hospitality - everyone was soooo nice! It honestly seemed like a Colorado thing but I was impressed. Con: Dated - the resort is dated for sure but you can tell there are upgrades happening over time. Bathroom was redone for sure. There does need to be a bit of tender love and care for some of the appliances and decor but it was still insanely comfortable. While there may have been more things that were either a pro or con, these were what stood out the most. There's a lot of pricey, new and upscale locations all around Avon, but to be honest during my first stay in Colorado, this was perfect for my family. I had no complaints from the kids, and very little from the adults. As a reviewer, I sometimes have a hard time reading reviews. It's also difficult to say read mine, but I truly believe you have to try it for yourself:

This is a weird place…read more I booked online based on reviews on an app and wish I would have researched further because I walked into the "lobby" and thought, Nope. It's a dark and murky vibe, I don't know if its an old office building or hotel converted into this place but whatever, it's not working. Check in was awkward with an employee who seemed afraid to make eye contact and mumbled. When I asked what the coffee situation was (standard question in my world), I got the response "I mean, we have Honey Deer" which really didn't sell me. They broke out a map of where my room was and didn't know how to tell me how to get to my room so that's when I knew this was going to be a one and done thing. I finally found my way to the rooms and since they only have one set of elevators, went and walked my way to the second floor. This is when I really started to regret booking here. There's no keypad to the hotel so any random can walk in. Then there's the stairs. I felt like I was tripping because some of the stairs led to the next floor, others seemed to end and they weren't consistent across the space. I walked up four sets of stairs to get to the next floor. While it doesn't have an outdoor room access, it was inside and I didn't see a soul, not a good sign. Then there's the smell, there's a Subway on the first floor of the building so the entire space smelled like Subway. Warning, it did not smell like eating fresh. And they had the heaters on so it was a hot Subway smell. Literally gagging. I got into my room and that was probably the best part of the experience. Bed when you walk in then kitchenette/sitting area in the back. There was one ceiling fan in the bedroom but the back area was stuffy and I tried to turn on the AC unit. It turned on but it was loud and wouldn't budge from 64 degrees so that wasn't sustainable. So I opened up the sliding door. Welp, it is so close to I 70 so that wasn't an option either. So I pretty much spent the entire time in the bedroom for some air circulation. There was a tv with a plethora of channels so that's a plus. But I didn't even want to leave the room due to the weird stair situation/Subway smell/god knows what type of people I would run into. I had a full day in Avon planned the next day but ended up cancelling those plans because I didn't want to stay in the room until 8am or 9am. So I woke up at 5:15am, didn't even look at the coffee maker in my room (if you know me, this does NOT happen) and called it a day. I didn't feel unsafe here but I didn't feel safe and to me, that warrants wanting to warn others, especially females. I'm a pretty risk adverse people but also not scared of being alone but this place just didn't sit well in my gut.

The free buses from the hotel to Beaver Creek made it easy to commute. The price was good for how much space you get compared to other hotels in the area. The front desk staff were awesome! They were kind, helpful, accommodating. We were a little concerned that there was only valet parking, but the valet service was great and we were easily able to access our vehicle whenever we wanted. We would definitely stay here again.

They say that all rooms are "presidential", however, they just seem to be larger in size with fancier soaps, dishes and silverware. Really no seasons ir anything and no other amenities. Just because you have fancy silverware, plates, cups, and pots and pans does not make this a high end location. Being In the center of town is convenient, however, if you've been to a Worldmark location, you know most resorts are on the outskirts of town." as a sidenote, be prepared to spend a fortune when parking your vehicle. There's no other locations to park other than the resort itself and it's valet only..... an hefty $45 a day.... And then the valets have signs out for tips.... Of course. While there is no pool or outdoor activities, they do try to have events in the owners lounge, or snacks in the lobby. Again, more of an average type of event. Considering this is a "presidential" room location. You would expect more. For the most part, stuff was very nice. They all seem to be well informed of the area, and always had a smile on their face.

St. James Place: Charming Beaver Creek…read more Construction and marketing time-shares in ski resorts has always required adroit thinking. The loquacious salesperson comprehends that winter inventory will virtually sell itself; however, several winter months of maintenance fees will not support the bottom line. This simple analysis has led to a market glut of time-shares in destination areas such as Orlando. Another factor is that the U.S. time-share market clientele is simply not attentive to the geography or demographics of The Rocky Mountains. Interval International categorizes every state from Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming as the "Rocky Mountains." These states may indeed share the Rockies, but these states have very ingenuous differences even for the client who is a skier. And specifically, there are market differences in Vail, Avon, and Beavercreek, Colorado. All three of these communities are grouped together on the Interval International website with no discussion of the vibrant differences that location provides. A client from the Midwest or East with an upscale property will unlikely be unhappy to learn that following several hours of flight and rental car drive that the family will be vacationing near I-70 or in a poorly located time-share. Beavercreek, Colorado is near Avon, Colorado, and the difference in ambience is equal to the vertical difference between the two villages. Several years ago, my wife and I viewed the construction of St. James Place in Beaver Creek; then we experienced a sales tour. The developers of St. James Place in Beaver Creek incorporated the aesthetics of a mountain property that blended in perfectly with the architecture of Beaver Creek. Zoning regulations are vital to a tony community such as Beaver Creek. The insouciant time-share owner may visit the Vail, Avon, and Beavercreek page at Interval International, and "discover" 16 properties. These properties are vastly different, and woe to the decision-maker who chooses poorly for his family. Beaver Creek has several very fine properties, and some research is necessary. Beaver Creek has become a true four-season resort village and is home to some very expensive second and permanent homes. The minute I saw St. James Place available, I traded for a summer week. St. James Place at 210 Offerson Road, P.O. Box 1512, Avon, CO 81620 970-845-9300 800-626-7100) is not in Avon; the property is in Beaver Creek. This property offers 1-4 bedrooms and bathrooms. The two photos on the website will provide only a glimpse of the appointments of this property. The website provides the following description: Located in the heart of the prestigious Beaver Creek Resort Village, St. James Place provides the ideal mountain vacation home. Shopping, dining, ice-skating, and the Vilar Performing Arts Center are outside your door. Both downhill and cross-country skiing are available, or you can visit the slopes at Vail nine miles away. In the summer, hiking, horseback riding, fly-fishing, golf, and a myriad of other activities are nearby. After a busy day, relax by the indoor pool, work out in the exercise room, or enjoy dinner at the restaurant on-site. Another website (http://beavercreek.snow.com/home/) provides the following: At the gate you leave the world behind. A luxury resort with the cozy feel of an Alpine village, Beaver Creek Resort is nestled at the foot of North America¹s World Cup Mountain. It is perhaps the very best of luxury family skiing, and has earned accolades of awards for its food, wine, and service. These websites are very accurate in an assessment of the lifestyle at Beaver Creek. We have enjoyed skiing at Beaver Creek as well as several summer holidays at this perfect mountain resort. Beaver Creek is a feast for the eyes, a delight for the senses. The influence of renowned resorts such as Switzerland's St. Moritz, Italy's Cortina, and Spain's Val d'Aran led to the creation of a unique mountain resort full of excitement and village luxury.... When George Townsend first settled in the valley in 1881, he knew he'd found something special- an exceptional mountain, lined with aspen groves and beautiful vistas that would become a world-renowned destination. In 1972, Vail continued his vision by purchasing the land and began designing a resort that combined western hospitality and European charm. Obstacles delayed resort completion, but on December 15, 1980, Beaver Creek finally opened to the public. Beaver Creek is a planned and fully developed residential community. Care has been taken to provide underground parking, and a true pedestrian village. Beaver Creek is charismatic, disarming, and enigmatic. The resort village is a delight to shop, to ski, to hike, or simply to appreciate the elegance of the mountains. Numerous restaurants (reservations) provide a variety of cuisine; however, if the tourist requires a supermarket, then a short drive to a different village is required.
