But its cute in a homey way. The entrance is a warm inviting walk through a Colorado ranch feel with white christmas lights lighting you're way. Staff was very attentive. The inside is a real feel of an old time lodge with todays amenities and furniture. The food was something i didn't expect truth be told. My white bean soup left me unimpressed. However, then came the rest of the food. Excellent. I appetizers -- excellent. Main course -- perfect. I had the short ribs -- soft flavorful without drowning out the natural flavors, grilled assortment of carrots really balance it with a sweetness that is a perfect addition. Stick Toffee -- delicious (Gordon Ramsay's mom would approve) Staff was fun and could hold up a piffy conversation (i like to talk). Hands down -- a great night out of good food. So in keystone--schedule a night to visit the lodge. Worth the drive from anywhere you might be located.

Check in was a breeze as the team reached out ahead of our arrival to confirm when we'd get there. With their app I could even store my room key for a digital entry (sans physical key card). How good! The exterior parking lot is small tho they do offer underground parking. The fee to park per night was $15 - which was a non negotiable since I was there with someone for their surgery. The room was spacious and very clean. Restroom/shower were also easily accessible. We had a small kitchenette with everything we needed to enjoy a snack or little meal prepared in the room. The fridge was spacious and we were able to stock up on fresh and nutritious bites at the nearby city market. Breakfast buffet was awesome and available for a few hours. While I usually opted for the oatmeal and fresh fruit and hard boiled eggs they offered so much more. DIY breakfast burritos with sausage, potatoes, scrambled eggs, cheese and various salsas. Not to mention toast, bagels, cereals, yogurt, coffee, juice, tea, etc. With your key card/digital access card you can enjoy their gym. Sparkling and clean with various cardio and weight equipment. I went down very early in the morning and someone was already there getting their sweat on. The hotel also has wheel chairs for use on site. Super helpful to get someone in the elevator and back up to the room after surgery. Overall great stay & interactions with staff who went above and beyond to make sure we're were comfortable and had everything we needed. Look forward to staying again and trying out their restaurant.

Hyatt keystone dhillon 2/5…read more Our experience here was wild to say the least. Let's start at the beginning- when we arrived the parking spots seemed super limited so drove around and actually find a spot under the building the entered, when we entered, we were greeted by the over enthusiastic front desk lady and she mentioned the other staff member was in training and we got checked in. We had our normal overnight stay. The big issues began when we came back to our hotel room after dinner late night and couldn't get into our room with our key. We went back downstairs and waited in a long line where they apologized and gave us a new key, we went back upstairs to the room and nope-key didn't work so went back down (at this point we were a bit annoyed), she apologized again and we explained when we tried the key the light didn't show red or green in fact it didn't work at all and thought the key batteries were dead. The new staff and front desk staff were so frantic super unprofessional ran back into the office room stating their maintenance just left to go home and will try the spare key which she couldn't find. They called a few people on the cell phones and were running around looking crazy. The lady came with us and opened the door using another key which somehow worked. She said a staff member will come upstairs and hand us a new key that works. After a few minutes the staff member came up and I tried the new key she handed us and nope didn't work. We knew it was late night and we would just check out the morning after so we didn't even bother. This whole ordeal took maybe an hour and half of us waiting for the staff members to get their stuff together. We were very annoyed at the end of it. The staffs unprofessional manner made it way worse, they were just as annoyed as we were. Our stay was in April- I hope they retrain some of their staff. Other than that fiasco the hotel was fine- typical Hyatt with free breakfast and really good views which is the only reason I didn't give it 1 star.

Mind you, we were also coming from the Washington, DC area where we stayed at a Hyatt Place near Dulles International Airport that had recently undergone a complete renovation. The differences between the property in Virginia and this location were stark in contrast. Outside of and away from the very well maintained lobby, this facility was absolutely showing signs of wear and tear. To begin, we arrived a few hours later than originally anticipated due to bad weather in Denver. We were greeted by a front desk clerk who promptly checked us in and advised that breakfast would be served in a matter of hours (it was 4AM). Great, it's just above freezing and we're tired and hungry after the drive from the airport. After obtaining our keycards, it was frustrating to discover that the room temperature couldn't be adjusted no matter what we tried. Mind you, it was 34 degrees when we checked in at 4AM. The heater continued to blow nothing but cold air. The room did heat up a few degrees after a short while, but we came to discover that this was more likely related to our own body temperatures and movement about the room after the lights had been turned on. Once the sun came up, the room heated considerably on its own so we turned the heater off and didn't even bother reporting it to the front desk staff as we had already read some of the reviews on this place. With that, we went downstairs at 6AM for the complimentary breakfast. Despite having a sign indicating that scrambled eggs would be present, no eggs were ever brought out by the staff (this was remedied in the following days). The waffles were almost frozen solid and only thawed when placed in the toaster. The breakfast meats (sausage and ham) appeared undercooked and weren't very appealing. We ultimately drove down into Dillon and picked up breakfast at the McDonald's. Aside from the busted (non-functioning) heater, everything about the room itself was acceptable and in accordance with Hyatt Place standards as I've previously experienced them around the country. Beds were comfy, bathroom appropriately apportioned, and a working mini-fridge. The rooms were, however, a little smaller than what we had just experienced in Virginia which did color the experience somewhat but not enough to sour the stay entirely. I wasn't, however, a fan of the parking situation at this location. They appear to have more rooms than parking spaces available. If you're not back at the property by a certain time, you could end up having to circle the lot a few times before being able to park. After arriving late one night from visiting family in the Western slope, we were ultimately told to just park the car in one of two spaces right out in front of the hotel. There's also a resort fee (which does include parking) added for each night you stay at the property. We were fine with this as it was brought to our attention on the third party website used to make our reservation. The experience was okay, but absolutely could have been better given what we paid. I also get that many people want a Grand Hyatt experience at Motel 6 prices. That's not us at all, but given that we'd just come from the Washington, DC area where we stayed at a newly renovated Hyatt Place property, I was expecting something on par to what we had just left back east. The experiences were in no way comparable. Overall, we loved the location because it's close enough to Denver to ensure reasonable proximity to the airport, but also far enough outside of Denver so as to avoid that hipster vibe and the upcharge associated with it these days. While we'll most likely return to the area next year, we may consider reservations at a few other locations before signing back on to this specific Hyatt Place property.

It was also nice to have the view of the lake through the window & when you walk out the door. Now, the accommodations. Coffee, tea, & granola bars were always available in the office, next to the reception desk - loved this! Breakfast options were 2 hot items (eggs & sausage/bacon), individually-packaged pastries, breads, peanut butter & jelly, oatmeal, yogurt, 3 types of fresh fruits, coffee, juices, milk, & nondairy milk. Loved that they had uncrustables in the pastry box. The room was spacious, with a kitchenette, medium sized fridge, wine opener, bottle opener, plates, cups, eating utensils, a baking pan, basic utensils & pots/pans for simple cooking & baking. It was nice to make & enjoy a quick warm meal in the comfort of your room after a day of skiing/snowboarding. There is a City Market grocery store (Kroger family store) less than 5 minutes away drive, past traffic lights. There are many stores & restaurants within 5-minute drive. The room pricing was reasonable for the provided amenities. We would definitely come here again.

What's not to love? Not sure I even want to share this place…read morewith anyone else who might not appreciate it, but I hv benefitted from it and I hope this helps others find it as well. My friend brought me here, saying, if I'm going to try any hostel, anywhere in the world, it should be here or his other favorite - in Wales. It is a gorgeous autumn in Colorado, so Breckinridge it is. How incredibly fortunate for me that my first hostel was here. I'm constantly reminded that not every hostel is so nice. What a lovely place. Well appointed, so clean - which is all important in this pandemic time. Everyone is friendly. We stayed in a 6-bunk room with a total 4 ppl in it. The less agile (that'd be me) was lucky to get a lower bunk (not sure how that works, we lucked out that not all the berths were full!) The other two ppl were solo travelers, one from South America, the other from Russia. They were friendly and polite. We all did our own thing; I crashed out early, so I wasn't bothered at all that another guest had to pack luggage for an early flight out the next day. There are outlets at each bunk, even USB chargers And a lamp which was a necessity when hvg to walk to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I thought the room was comfortable; temps got down into the 30's overnight but I was comfortably cozy in my bed with its duvet; there were extra blankets in the closet if needed. My friend thought it too warm but he runs that way, but he slept thru the night fine too. A word about the bedding: mine was fine, clean, smelled clean. But one of the other bunks had yellowed bedding - with stains. I presume it was washed and cleaned just looked used, and if you got there in daylight or with all the lights on, one would hv seen it, but I didn't till the next morning when we were getting ready to leave and that might've bn off putting. I came down early, just before sunrise The general areas were at a comfortable temp. Wasn't time yet for breakfast, but some kind soul had already started the coffee. I went for a walk, took some pix, came back once guests had started to straggle in. What a friendly, informative bunch! My friend tells me that's most hostel-goers. And the food was pretty good, pancakes, eggs, cereal; I got the oatmeal and an English muffin. The coffee smelled really good. And I was so happy they had powdered hot chocolate too! Special mention must be made of Belage (sorry, may hv misspelled) but he is a welcoming, knowledgeable host and made us feel at home. If you come here, please contribute positively. I worry that the wrong sort would detract from such a lovely accommodation and experience. And yeah, I'll hv to keep in mind that almost certainly other hostels aren't like this, but it is now my gold standard.

BED BUGS!!!! BED BUGS!!!! BED BUGS!!!! Absolutely terrible experience!…read more We stayed in Room 215 (checked in March 17). On the morning of March 19 my nephew and I woke up with multiple bug bites; on March 20 I found a live bug in the bed and another under the cover -- these were clearly bed bugs. I reported it to the front desk around 8:15 AM. Staff told us we would be moved to a new room around noon. By 9:30 AM we had vacated room 215 and were washing our all of clothing. There was only operational dryer. The front desk gave me $4 for laundry (about 9:15 AM) but would not provide additional funds and said to wait for a manager. We never heard from a manager EVER, received no further assistance, and I ended up spending $20 out of pocket to do three loads. We waited in the lobby all day and were not given a new room until 4:00 PM. Because of this we missed a scheduled ski day (two lift tickets, $584), incurred laundry costs and significant disruption to our stay. Additionally, the room was not properly stocked on arrival (no bath towels or soap -- only one bath mat, one hand towel, and one washcloth). Also, the furniture is worn out and nearly unusable and the towel bar was on the floor. This was extremely disappointing and stressful, especially as my nephew was here for spring break. The room was uninhabitable due to sanitation concerns and the staff's slow/inadequate response added to the disruption. We are local to the area, one of our local friends who knows the owner reached out to him on the day this all occurred and he told our friend "imma hook them up." (I have the screen shot from this convo.) HE NEVER CONTACTED US AND NEVER "HOOKED US UP." The front desk staff member told us they were going to give us a 25% refund but also failed to do that. I emailed the owner on 3/25 and never received a response back. Spend the extra cash and go somewhere else.
