We had a wonderful dinner at Ski Tip Lodge. The 4-course dinner was delicious, and well-presented. The cozy, intimate ambiance made the whole experience feel special. Nick provided excellent service -- attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. It was our daughter's birthday, and she really enjoyed the staff's attentiveness! She also enjoyed her 3-course meal--which consisted of a fruit cup, perfectly-cooked medium rare filet and dark chocolate lava brownie sundae. A great spot for a memorable night out. We'll be back! Highly recommend.

It's a historic lodge with a very charming atmosphere and cozy rooms you can stay at during your ski trip. There is a game room, bar, two fireplaces and a restaurant (dinner here is a must, so delicious; please make a reservation in advance). The views from the restaurant are mesmerizing, especially in the morning. If you are staying in, there is also an access to the nearby hot tub, which is amazing after all day of skiing. There is a free breakfast, wifi and a parking lot. The shuttle stop to the River Run Keystone Resort, is right in front of the lodging. Very convenient if you don't want to deal with finding a parking spot at the resort during the busiest time. They also give an option to store your ski gear overnight at the River Run for free. The staff is super nice, helpful and very welcoming, highly recomend!

My husband and I came here on a Monday during Christmas week. Make sure you get your reservations early cause it's gets sold out very quickly. Our experience was 5/5. The ambiance was the mountain rustic cozy feel that I love and service was amazing. Our waitress knew a lot about each dish and gave suggestions. It's a 4 course meal and there were 2 options for starter, 2 options for appetizer/salad, 5 options for entree and 4 options for dessert (you choose 1 from each course). My husband and I chose different options for starter and appetizer so we could share. We also got pork chop and king mushroom for our entrees. Our favorite dishes was the pasta/ravioli dish under the appetizer section. It was melt in your mouth delicious. The salad was also very unique and refreshing and a surprising hit. We also loved the king mushroom dish under entree. It was cooked with asparagus and beet puree and everything went together very well.

This review is strictly for the lodging. We have dined here many times and always wondered about the lodging, so we finally took the plunge and booked a jr suite which is a room with a queen bed adjoined to another room with two twins. Each room had a bathroom which was nice. First the positive: the rooms were charming and historic. Beds were comfy. Filtered water in a glass bottle was a nice touch. There's a lovely outdoor hot tub if you don't mind a little trek. The breakfast was excellent with fresh squeezed oj and good coffee. The fireplace is awesome. And of course the views! Now the negative:There's no tv so a book is a must. Also if there is dinner service, it is quite loud until all the guests have left, which was around 10 pm. The hairdryer did not work. We couldn't adjust the HVAC to a comfortable level. There are no blackout shades so if you're a light sleeper, you're out of luck.

Highlights- the wine list is great some really nice interesting finds. Found a great unique bottle (on my own) which we really enjoyed. The servers were helpful and attentive. The appearance and ambiance was quaint and warm. The bad- The place was overall way to pretentious for what it was. You need to have an awareness of your abilities as as an establishment and the dining acumen of your guests, then tailor your attitude accordingly. If you want to eat at the most expensive place in Keystone and be treated like you don't understand a menu or know your way around a wine list then this is your spot. Food is extremely sub par. Given this place is pre fixe menu, I expected each course/option to be on point. Not the case at all. Only good food I had put in front of me was the tomato bisque. The rest big fail. Octopus appetizer over cooked, Jamaican fried chicken lacking all around, chicken had a good cook but waffle dry/crumbling, greens over cooked and bitter, then dessert was a total A.D.D. flavor disaster on a plate. Save your money and check out other options in River Run village area. Some great plates on plenty of other menus in the area without the extra expense or the attitude.

Final photo to close out the night and what an amazing night it was.

This was the most amazing dining experience I've ever had. The food quality was amazing. The service was unique, personalized and of a standard rivaled by few in my life. We were quite a wild bunch but still fit right in at what I would consider a fancy dining experience. Heather played right along with us telling Ole jokes and giving us a hard time. I'm not a wine person but am so glad I did the wine pairing with the meal. We will be back and we will be asking for Heather.

We had an incredible experience at Ski Tip Lodge. Amazing service paired with food prepared like you've never had. We loved our sommelier Kurtis, and our waitress Christine. Both were great hosts and really made the experience unforgettable. The best part about this place is that it's so unassuming, but once you get inside the lodge you see how cozy it is. It allows for all of the staff to really oversee every detail for every table. This spot is a must if you are in Summit County.

Our server was amazing! She handled our group of 10 like a pro. The food was great, as usual. Suggestions.... (one of which I'm sure you have no control due to pandemic) was the lack of wine choices and not having a sommelier, it really adds to the experience. You must know that I've been coming to Max & Edna's place since I was a kid in the 60's so I have lots of memories of my family being there before they founded Keystone. Also, in the past, we always finished our meal and went out into the room with the big fireplace for dessert, not last night. And, it was disappointing to see my favorite room, where we would play chinese checkers in front of the fireplace, cards etc., where the sofas have been removed and replaced with tables, so that was a little disappointing. However, the food is always good and the ambiance is great. Thanks!

Wow. I'm not even sure where to begin about this place. My daughter made us reservations for dinner Monday night. We knew the history of the lodge which makes it even more special. We had a private room and our own Sommelier to help us select the wine for our 4 course meal. The tomato bisque might be one of the best I've ever tasted. The food was incredible and the wine recommended by the Somm was spot on. Fantastic experience all the way around!

The fridge was spacious and we were able to stock up on fresh and nutritious bites at the nearby city market. Breakfast buffet was awesome and available for a few hours. When giving her the name our booking was under, she informed us that the King Bed Suite we reserved was not available due to a leak and she would be putting us in a Queen Bed instead. When my husband asked if there was a price difference for the room she confirmed that it was cheaper, but made no offer to change the charge. Further prompting her, he asked if she could apply the new lower price to our booking since we were not getting what we paid for originally. All of a sudden, she hesitated, looked like she had been caught in a lie and then said in barely above a whisper "okay, I will give you a King room" and handed us our keys. This was extremely odd and we were very confused as to what just happened and why we were trying to be pushed into a Queen room instead of a King without a fair price adjustment when they did indeed have an available room. The interaction unfortunately gave us a weird sense that something shady just occurred. The poor star rating is mainly due to this unfortunate interaction. As we went to our room, there was an unpleasant mildew odor from the elevator to halfway down the hallways - assuming this is from the supposed leak problem they were dealing with. It thankfully did not reach our room. The room was standard and clean with lots of lights and a good view of the parking lot with mountains in the background. Personally, we like being able to have an eye on our car and a scenic view so this was perfect. The bed was comfortable, the carpet was on the thinner side, the bathroom came with a very limited amount of amenities (2 bars of soap, shampoo and conditioner), microwave needed to be plugged in and the coffee maker came with 2 year old expired packets. The room is not equipped to do anything more than microwave a snack or refrigerate leftovers. There are lots of good dining options around the local area either within walking distance or a short drive away. The max rate this Comfort Suites states they can charge is $999/night, which, if they weren't located in a great place to get to the ski slopes, is honestly pretty ridiculous for such an average stay. Overall, it's fine for what it is, but don't expect much. We didn't stop to have the included breakfast in the morning as we were ready to get out of there, but they do have a large dining area for you to eat your meal there.
