It was very different than anywhere that i have stayed in the past. Only downside of our room was that it was right above the bar next door and folks were out there talking fairly loudly for quite awhile which is not what you want when you are leaving at 430 am the next morning. The lodge itself is a wonderfully quirky historic cabin full of charm and character. Every detail feels thoughtfully designed for weary hikers, from the hot tub, luxury rain showers, bidet, and incredibly cushy carpets to the complimentary toiletries, towels, and laundry service. The bunk beds are comfortable and equipped with privacy curtains, and the beautiful stained glass, local artwork, cozy patio, and three sweet resident dogs make it a place you'll want to linger. Breakfast was complimentary and even included fresh fruit and dairy-free options, and there was an honor-system bar stocked for the evening. My group of four practically had the whole place to ourselves, and we took full advantage of everything it had to offer. At only $60 a night, it felt like an incredible value. If you're there to ski or snowboard, the bus picks you up right outside, so you don't need to worry about parking in Breckenridge. The Bunkhouse is funky and eclectic, with old-world warmth and charm. You'll also want to love fur babies because if you're lucky, they'll take a liking to you and you can cuddle up on the sofa with a glass of wine. Mitch is the hostess with the mostest! His laugh is contagious, and his generosity and kindness set the bar for hospitality. This is a true lodge experience, so be open to meeting new people and sharing space. Bring your beer, wine, or whiskey, and relax in the bar while enjoying a drink. It's a great place to reconnect with the space around you and be present in the moment. Most rooms have their own bathroom. The staff is very personable and helpful for local tips. The breakfast was very good. They cook a hot breakfast to order. Our first morning there, we had a hiccup and I think we were forgotten about after we ordered food. We waited an hour and finally left. We were so late getting on the mountain. We didn't get our first run til 11. Other than that one issue, everything has been great and the breakfast the following two mornings came out within mins. I think it was an honest mistake but we all just brushed it off. Thank you, Claire for your hospitality. You made our home away from home very comfortable. I had to write a review. The room was well appointed, the hosts were delightful and full of recommendations for the village. The courtyard is adorable but it was a bit too chilly to spend much time there. Walking distance to everything in the village. And breakfast was SO good. They went out of their way to offer vegan and gluten free options which was so kind. Even had handmade lattes and barista drinks by request. All included!

Instead, I insisted we try to walk and find something down the street, because this is Colorado and at the very least there is some bar food nearby within walking distance. Not at 11 pm. Nothing open, no one on the streets maybe some mountain lions, at least the bears were hibernating. We ate lunch at the restaurant down the street recommended by the front desk. Murphys closes at 9 pm. Delicious, I owe them a five star review. Ordered conservatively for some reason, but should have had leftovers on the mind. There is a happy hour at 530 pm with beer and maybe even some food, but we were enjoying the amenities of our room too much. So, this is a public service announcement, I suggest you bring food if your dietary needs involve late night snacking. Otherwise when you realize everything is closed, you'll wish you said you wanted breakfast at 8 am instead of 10 am and then your boyfriend will be unable to wait, has to go down the street and then you have four breakfasts by then. I'm not a high maintenance princess type so I do not expect a robe. I definitely don't expect it to be that soft. Since it had to be that soft, I got the idea there were supposed to be matching slippers hiding somewhere. I never found them. As it's currently winter, the indoor spaces have warm fireplaces and cozy chairs and tables to relax by. One can borrow a DVD for their room or exercise in the basement activity room. Our room was extraordinarily cozy with an amazing and comfortable king size bed with fresh bedding as well as a little electric fireplace and lots of lighting options. A white noise machine was made available as were fans and robes and bathroom amenities. I really enjoyed not having to carry around a key in my pocket or even a rfid card as the rooms have codes on the electronic locks. Very intelligent design. The kitchen offers a plethora of delicious items included with our reservation as well as food for purchase and every morning one can choose a hot meal prepared however you like as well as hot oatmeal, various cereals and yogurts and fresh fruits. The property is beautiful, the condo units are spacious, comfortable, and very clean, and the views are absolutely incredible. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. The location is hard to beat. There are restaurants attached to the property, and the gondola is literally right next door, making it incredibly convenient during ski season. River Run Village is just across the bridge and has plenty of restaurants, shops, activities, and things to do. We also loved the festivals and events happening around Keystone -- there always seemed to be something going on and plenty of activities for the whole family. Overall, the combination of beautiful accommodations, amazing mountain views, cleanliness, friendly staff, and an unbeatable location makes the Kindred a fantastic place to stay. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!
