Came into the place because of the ratings but was a tad disappointed. Upon arrival, everybody seemed very friendly and they were very friendly, but it wasn't that busy and it took them forever to come and just grab our drinks. The one server that was actually our server was talking to a person and went outside to finish her discussion with her and said that the lady inside would be with us. She never came to us as she continued sweeping, but in all honesty, I don't think it was her job to serve us as she didn't ask us to. Now I'm in the food service business so no matter what if I'm not busy or if I'm doing something that doesn't require me serving a guest I'm gonna take care of that guest, but it all depends on how they operate their business. Anyways, we probably waited for about 10 to 15 minutes for the waitress to come ask what we wanted to drink I was able to go to the bathroom and wash my hands. She did come to the table and ask for our drink order, we asked her for waters and she came back two minutes later and asked us what we wanted again and we had to remind her of waters. After ordering our meals, it came back looking great but the flavor was not so great. The fried chick was lightly battered which I absolutely loved and it was juicy and flavorful and not dried out at all. The collard greens were bitter and not cooked enough, I hardly tasted any vinegar that it should be cooked in. And don't get me started on the mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes. Were definitely powdered mashed potatoes. I was disappointed because it doesn't cost that much to make mashed potatoes. I just had really high expectations for this place and it was just not good. Super cute place. Just not the best place to eat.

Driving home from Florida. Tired of fast food. Stopped here for some good, local homestyle cooking. Had the beef-tips over rice with collard greens, coleslaw and a peach crisp. Friendly service. Good people. A true slice of America. Highly recommend!

We stopped by during a road trip , 15 minutes before they stopped serving lunch and they couldn't have been nicer- our waitress was like a Grandmother insisting we come in "from the heat to get something good for lunch.". The service was amazing with traditional southern country cooking. We each had the lunch special for $11 which was a dinner entree with 2 sides and fresh peach crisp and cornbread. Such a deal and the portions were huge, we could have split a plate. The food was good but the hospitality and service was top notch. So nice to meet a server who loves their job and makes you feel at home. Check it out, there aren't too many options along 95 in this area.

Passed by during a road trip and decided to stop by for lunch. This was a nice diner with friendly staff. However, I was surprised that the restaurant averages 4.5 stars if taking into account the food. The food was GOOD for the inexpensive price. Nothing to write home about though. My BBQ pulled pork didn't have any barbecue sauce on it (the meat still tasted good). My family members' burgers were a little cold and their buns fell apart quickly. Also, as soon as our food came, our waitress asked my dad to move his car because she said he was blocking someone in. My dad got up from the table and didn't see how he was blocking anyone in. The waitress was very nice and apologetic about this but it was inconvenient and interrupted our meal. On a side note, everyone here seemed to know everyone! read more

Wow, definitely somewhere worth checking out if you're in the area. The prices are very reasonable and food is fabulous. We had a BLT, dinner special, and chilli cheese fries. BLT was just like I'd make at home, with crispy bacon =) The fries can certainly feed a table, so I don't suggest making multiple orders. Cash only, so be sure to bring some $$. read more

We stopped in for lunch and it was terrific. My wife had a patty melt and I had the chicken pot pie special . The pie was loaded with chicken and the crust was light and flavorful. Hot biscuits and cornbread were served with the meal.Service was excellent and so was the food . Right on US15 in town, there's plenty of parking in their lot. Great small town dinner. Excellent service. CASH ONLY. Had the beef tips and rice, peas and coke slaw. All excellent. Wife had the chicken salad which she thought was great. Driving through area like to try the hometown dinners, this is a very good one. Small, nice staff and good comfort food. The place is clean and they had really good fried eggplant, we got the lunch special which was $8.95. Lunch special came with choice of meet (3 different kinds to choose from), 2 sides, desert. While travelling in our rv , we love to try mom and pop places. Wanted to eat dinner here but we were not coming through at the right time. So we got up early and went for breakfast. I had fried egg, country ham and hash browns and a biscuit. The biscuit was obviously homemade , but not that great...sorry, grandma. I was disappointed to hear that they deep fry their potatoes. I like them pan fried on the griddle with onions. I think a real country cookin place would take the extra effort to do that. Hubby got sausage gravy, which was really bland. Waitress was very nice and the place seemed clean. Everyone knew everyone and it was cozy. If we were in the area at the right time, I would love to try lunch or dinner and see what the veggies are like. But for breakfast...we will keep on truckin'. read more

This is an old style diner with neighborhood people- I felt like I was back on the town of Mayberry in Andy Griffin days. My Patty melt was delicious and they only take cash but it's very reasonable. The soda had nice crushed ice and she filled us up as soon as it went under 1/2 of a giant glass. read more

A true southern local diner right off l95. We stopped for a late breakfast on our way down to Florida. Doesn't look like much from the outside but very nice inside. We actually won trivia and a round of bingo! Prizes were cute snowman decorations, and the second one was a mug full of chocolate! They couple running the games were sweet and made it fun for everyone. Food was good with plenty of choices. We had the club sandwich and fried mushrooms. Portions are generous, and prices are decent. They have a full bar and have fun Goat drinks to pick from ( when goats fly, goat nuts, etc) that all offer something different. A great Southern dinner, a little off the beaten path of I 95 in the town of Summerton, SC. I stopped for breakfast, loved my sausage & cheese omelette with a biscuit. Excellent coffee, that was refilled often. Service was fast and the staff friendly. I will be back. read more

The restaurant is not open until 8. We drove here to eat based on the reviews, they were closed before 7pm
