I did enjoy my greasy croissant from Walmart (the waitress informed me) with egg, bacon and American cheese. But of coarse with regrets for the ill health. Stopped on a trip North from Florida based on the reviews and menu. We were pleasantly pleased with the little cafe ! Outstanding cafe! This will definitely be the place I come to when driving by or to Manning. The "Hickory Top" sandwich was fantastic. The homemade sauce should be bottled and sold, crazy good. The dessert and coffee where out standing as well. I asked what was their best sandwich and a local patron said-'everything'. My experience with Cala Lily Cafe is that he was absolutely right. Stopped here for breakfast while traveling through Manning. It's part of a quaint town rebuilding itself. The food was very good. Lots of sandwich specialities and deals. Friendly service. Coffee was good and tasty doughnuts. Sandwiches were mediocre with giant bread slices but hardly any meat. If they used thinner bread slices the fillings probably wouldn't seem as stingy. I'd say this is a great place to stop for breakfast or an afternoon pick me up but I'd skip the lunch menu. read more

The sweet tea, amazing ! The ranch pasta salad, amazing ! The cakes, amazing ! I didn't get a chance to try their chicken salad, but seeing how they had run out, one can only assume that it is also amazing. I was just visiting the town and the hotel reccomended this place and I am so glad they did. If you are looking for a light lunch place and not trying to spend to much, Cala Lily is the place to go. Ok. So saw this place one day while driving by and it looked cute. Drove from Sumter with my boyfriend to have breakfast. Got there, well not really a breakfast place. Some bagels, donuts and that's about it, for breakfast. Ended up ordering an egg salad sandwich and veggie soup. Well, I have never had an egg salad sandwich leak all over my plate before. When I opened it up (I asked for toasted bun, but it was not), there was nothing left but the sour mayonnaise that it was made from...gross. I do not eat beef, nor pork, and the side that I asked for was vegetable soup. I was so grossed out with my sandwich that I started to dunk it into my soup. Then I noticed it had meat in it. I asked someone who worked there if there was meat in it, and she said yes. I said, I do not eat meat and she responded saying you must not be from around here, because in the south, we have meat in our vegetable soup. Me... flabbergasted, states, well, I'm from the south and all over the world, and when one states you are serving vegetable soup, it's only with vegetables. I told her it was vegetable beef soup. She didn't care for that, and kind of gave me the stink eye. Not cool, not good. My boyfriend had a turkey sand and stated it was like it was from a gas station. GROSS. So we ended up driving all the way to Florence and had a wonderful LUNCH (although I wanted breakfast). We went to this place called Victors in the Florence Hotel. I told them the story and, well, the rest is history. The food was fantastic and I will give them stars. Go to Cala if you are only desperate for a meal. read more

This place is hands down the best stop off 95 to stop for lunch. We took our orders to go. For around $8 you get a sandwich, a drink, chips, and a donut. Wish we could have stayed longer to explore downtown Manning. Adorable! Thanks ladies! You rock and we will be back. read more
