Delicious fried chicken. Happened upon this buffet and it was delicious. Fried chicken was moist and delicious. Mac and cheese very cheesy. Cole slaw nice and crunchy. Enjoyed every bite. Definitely will come back. Cheap eats but delicious.

This place rocks! Was in Manning and read about the fried chicken so I had to try it. The service is so quick for take out- I don't think I waited more than 5 minutes. All served by the friendliest person! The food was amazing- I basically inhaled it! Mac & cheese was so flavorful, the Cole slaw fresh, the field peas were cooked perfectly and the fried chicken was the star! Skin crispy and inside so moist and flavorful. Will probably get take out again before I leave. Taking one star off for no pepper vinegar. Any place with collards, cabbage or field peas has to have Pepper vinegar.

Food was awesome. Buffet on Saturday's have an amazing seafood bar. I haven't been here in over 10 years but the food taste just like it did back then. I highly recommend this place. The hash and rice is awesome.

I find the bad reviews here odd. For less than $8 you can get a buffet with pork BBQ and fried chicken, as well as a number of sides. Our hush puppies were 100% not frozen and store bought as someone said. The pork and chicken were both moist and tasty. Cole slaw, mac n cheese, and potato salad were all solid. I enjoyed everything I ate but my favorite was a dish that combined rice and chicken. I can't for the life of me remember the name but it started with a "P" and ended with "eaux." Get more of that!

Thanks to Yelp for leading me to this great Southern gem! If you ever find yourself in South Carolina, D&H is only a short five minute detour from I-95 AND unlike other Christian chicken places, they are open on Sundays! It seems to me that D&H is THE place to hang out with neighbors after Sunday church service because as I was walking in I saw a big mess of Southern ladies in their big church hats on their way out. There are two ways to order here: from their takeout counter or eat at their buffet which closes down at two pm. The boy and I were in a rush so we decided to go the AYCE route which was a little less than nine dollars a person. The buffet isn't up to Vegas standards per say but they did have a nice selection of home cooking staples such as turnip greens, mac and cheese, potato salad, hush puppies, pulled pork, bbq chicken, fried chicken, banana pudding, red velvet cake ....and funfetti! This place is REALLY bare bones...they don't even have an ice machine! Instead they serve cool your drink with ice cubes from a mini cooler in the middle of the dining room. But don't let that deter you, this place is a great bang for your buck! The fried chicken was perfect. Not too greasy with a crispy skin and moist meat. The hush puppies were out of this world and surprisingly not too greasy as well! Rob raved about the pulled pork BBQ and even helped himself to seconds but I found it to be a little bit too vinegary for my taste. Mac and cheese is hands down the best I've ever had (sorry John Legend!). Our servers included a middle aged lady and a high school aged teenager who were gossiping about Kaye Lynne's auntie's momma's cousin Jamie Lynne from the church which was adorable to listen to. They were very friendly and always made sure that our sweet teas were always topped off. If I ever found myself in the area, I'd return again!

We had such an experience recently at McCabe's BBQ in Manning, South Carolina. Driving north on I-95 from Jacksonville, my wife declared, "I want some barbecue for lunch." As she was driving I was tasked with finding a place where we could dine. Using Yelp, I first found a different bbq restaurant. Got great reviews. Served bbq. Yep, met all of the requirements. Yet some fellow Yelpers stated that it was only serving food to go. Nope. We need to sit and eat! Hence we ended up at McCabe's. Thank the heavens. The food heavens. It's a small unassuming place in Manning. I have no idea what else may be in Manning. Look, I didn't even know Manning was a place before today. Trust me. Stop in Manning. The food is served buffet style, but the incredibly friendly staff actually puts the food on the plate for you. We each had the all you can eat dinner. Because why not? There's lots of side choices, I had the "dirty" rice with hash on it. Honestly I can't tell you what's in the hash or how the rice is made, but it was amazing. The collard greens are some of the best I ever had, and the slaw, while a bit sweet for my taste, was still really good. There were also yams, okra, green beans, cabbage and stewed tomatoes. I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. The pulled pork is phenomenal. On the table is Carolina bbq sauce (vinegar based. Not for everyone but i enjoy it). There is also fried chicken. Ok, I thought, I'll try it just to be nice. Holy Cow. Unbelievably good fried chicken! Get it. The drinks are limited to tea (sweet and unsweet), lemonade and water. That's fine though because the food is so good! Overall it was a fantastic experience, a great find and a place I highly recommend. Thank you food gods!

He was SO hospitable, sweet and genuinely welcoming. He gave great recommendations and did not steer us wrong. These days, it's not always easy to come across service like that, which made it even more appreciated. I ordered the Sunset Blush drink and it was delicious. We also got the cornbread and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the BEST cornbread I've ever had. So soft and flavorful. The brisket sandwich was a little dry (could be because we went during closing) but still had really good flavor. The mac and cheese though... WOW. I am very picky with mac and cheese and most places miss the mark, but this tasted homemade. Easily a 10/10. My husband got the peach bourbon burger and said it was great. The kids ate everything in sight which is always a win...lastly the cinnamon roll cheesecake for dessert... phenomenal!!! Overall such a great experience and I'm really glad we stopped in!

After driving 15 hours on March 21, 2026, my husband and I were genuinely excited to try this place and planned to take our food back to the hotel. Unfortunately, the experience started off poorly and never really recovered. First, parking is extremely limited out front, which is frustrating when you're tired and just want a quick pickup. Inside, things only got worse. The front-of-house staff was shockingly unprofessional. The employee helping us clearly didn't understand her job and had to be corrected multiple times by another staff member--something no customer should have to witness. It created confusion, delays, and zero confidence in our order. We paid about $50 for a sampler, which is not cheap, and yet the same employee argued about giving us the sides because she entered the order incorrectly. If another, more competent employee hadn't stepped in, I'm convinced it would have escalated further. Even then, we never received one of the four sides we paid for. To make matters worse, we were never asked if we wanted drinks to go, and we weren't given plates, silverware, or even BBQ sauce--basic essentials for a takeout order. That's just unacceptable. While waiting, we also watched this same employee tell three separate dine-in families to go sit and wait while she stood there rolling silverware. Completely rude and dismissive. If I had been one of those customers, I would have walked out. This is the first impression customers get, and it's a terrible reflection of how the place is run. Between the disorganization, poor communication, and outright unfriendly behavior, the service was a mess. The only reason this isn't a one-star review is because the food itself was actually very good. The burnt ends and ribs were the standout--absolutely delicious. But great BBQ can't fully make up for such a frustrating and poorly managed customer experience.

At first glance, I wondered what exactly this industrial looking neighborhood had to do with good food. Still, I parked, walked in, and was immediately greeted by the unmistakable aroma of meat that had been slow smoking all day long. A very kind older lady welcomed me and explained that the buffet was all-you-can-eat for just $17. That sounded easy enough. I grabbed a plate and began my journey down the line. There were the staples: rice, collard greens, fried okra, hush puppies. Then came the showstoppers. A massive tray of mac & cheese, golden fried chicken, barbecue chicken, and pulled pork that looked like it had been tended with care. Oh, my. Off to the side sat squeeze bottles of sauce and ketchup, flanked by potato salad, cole slaw, and two varieties of pickles that added a crisp counterpoint to the richness of the meats. I ate far more than I intended, but every bite was worth it. The mac & cheese was excellent, very cheesy and full of flavor. Maybe not quite as good as when Mrs. K. blesses me with her recipe, but still, excellent. The barbecue chicken was moist and seasoned just right. The pulled pork was some of the best I have had, with a few larger pieces mixed in that gave it texture and depth. It was so good it really didn't need any sauce at all. If desserts were offered, I didn't see them. A small scoop of banana pudding would have tied the whole experience together in a perfect knot. Even without it, this was a five-star meal in my book. Yum, and then yum again. [Review 1512 of 2025 - 1366 in South Carolina - 25063 overall]
