Traveling on I-95 on Easter, looking for somewhere to est and unwind for a little while, and saw this was the highest rated plave in Santee/this exit. We called to be sure they were open - they were, onky closed on Tuesdays. Trust the reviews - clear menu with thorough descriptions, very tasty food and substantial portions, great service, & clean bathrooms. We ordered pork & veg gyoza - the sauce was at my very basic limit of spice. I let them know that, and was then encouraged to get the Basil & ground chicken w rice, no spice - I loved it and have a container to take home to finish later. My honey got the udon - hot; he said it was perfect - he finished it. As other reviews have mentioned, it isn't fast food, and when down to 1 server, it may take a couple of minutes to catch them, but the family server was nice, and Rachel let us know that she ate here so much that they offered her a job - which says a lot. She let us know that they also have a location in Charleston. We will be back when next in the area! read more

I had the cold basil shrimp wraps with peanut sauce and a sweet soy based sauce. And chicken with veggies and rice noodles. It was very good. I highly recommend them. They have an outdoor deck. Food was spot-on traditional Thai! Medium heat had the perfect kick with enough spiciness to let you know it was there, but not make you regret it half way through your meal. Portions were generous too, as we all took home leftovers that were great for lunch the next day. It's a must to start with their basil & shrimp rolls...so fresh & tasty! Basil fried rice was a stand out with chicken, steak & pork. So flavorful and filling. Drunken Thai Spaghetti was another great choice. Pad Thai didn't disappoint either! While the food earns a solid 4 to 5 stars, the decor is well worn with torn & depressed seating which brought their score down to a 3. During August, it was also very warm in the restaurant. Service was a little challenging due to a language barrier with our server. After some adjustments, everyone received the correct order...although some received medium spice when they ordered mild. If you don't like any heat, I'd recommend asking for no spice. My recommendation would be to place a to-go order, because you'll be much more comfortable in your house. read more

I traveled in for a night and this was right in front of my hotel. I wanted something light, so I got the Beef Salad and it far surpassed my expectations. It was fresh, the meat was juicy and plentiful, and had plenty of kick. Ordering a salad when you really want some curry is tough, but this was a pleasant surprise. The steak was perfectly cooked, and tender. It's got a slight teriyaki typeglaze on it with the spicy lime dressing on the side. Delicious food. The restaurant is not fancy but we were so impressed with the food. We shared the tom yum soup and the vegetable green curry. The Tom Yum soup was so outstanding I would go back just for that. The service was great and friendly. We had come in twenty minutes before they closed for the night but still they were so welcoming and didn't not rush us at all. Traveling from Florida north we stopped in Santee. Staying at the Fairfield inn I was walking the dog. I noticed a Thai restaurant next to the property. We went for dinner. What a find! The spring rolls were fresh and delicious. My husband's tom yum soup had the most delicious broth. Our chicken with eggplant and peppers was just great- cooked to order(well done eggplant and no string beans. Plus our waitress Tori has that Southern charm magnified- she was just awesome. We are going to try and stop here whenever we make the journey! read more

My personal preference for eating out is coming here. I have tried just about the entire menu and haven't found a dish I didn't like so far. The service folks, Nong and Rachel, are very keen on getting the food out ASAP, and the kitchen cooks up the best food in my opinion. A must try when you are in Santee, SC, or passing through, near meal times. My wife and our friends were travelling back from FL to the Mid-Altantic. Decided to stop by to have dinner before getting to the hotel for the night. We picked it because we were dying for some decent Thai food, and the place is right off I-95. While the decore feels outdated, it added to its rustic charms. The service was excellent, and prompt. The server recommended dishes based on our taste and dietary preferences. We ordered the special that night, the Red Curry Pineapple Duck, along with standard dishes based on the recommendation, including the Masaman Curry, Crying Tiger Surf & Turf, and Druken Thai Spaghetti. The food were excellent, and a good deal for the quality and amount of food. We now plan to make stopping in Santee, SC as part of our travel iteneary when heading south or back up again, so we can stop at the Thai House again. read more

Excellent food and very quick service. We really enjoyed our meal and found the entrees, specialties, and appetizers to all be very tasty and well presented. The restaurant is small but well appointed and made for a relaxed dining experience. This was an unexpected find while traveling. I arrived at 4:55pm and there was only one other car in the parking lot so I was apprehensive about dining there but so glad I tried it! By 5:15 the restaurant was packed and the service and food was delicious. I started with jasmine tea and fresh rolls with tofu-yum! We visited on our way from Virginia and had the best food and service. Our greeter and waitress was so sweet. We have a wiggly 2.5 year old and she was very understanding and offered him crayons and coloring sheets. The food itself was delicious. Excellent food, service and ambiance. We are an omnivore/vegan couple. We started with a nice wine and spring rolls made with tofu. Husband had duck, which he loves, and I had a tofu ginger entree. Both were spiced as requested (his mild, mine medium). Both were full of flavor and delicious. Prices are modest, and servings are generous. Waitstaff was very friendly, cheerful and efficient. My fella and I are road tripping and he found this place on Yelp and the great reviews so we veered off the highway to check it out. It looks like a little hole in the wall so don't let that deter - we've found the best and most authentic gems from the most unassuming places! Rachel was our server and she was a sweetheart - warm and genuine. The food was really fairly priced - you get a lot for what you pay for and the real kicker, it is also excellent Thai food!!!- My fella got the Panang Curry and at spice level 3 ... it was one of the better Panangs we have tasted in our experience and yup the spice was perfect (the level is up there!) I got the Pad See Ew (Rachel's favorite) spice level 2 and it was really yummy! The dark sweet soy sauce is the most important ingredient in Pad See Ew and they did it right! Happy tummies - we inhaled our dinners. We are coming from MD/DC and yankees just don't do sweet tea right so I was a happy girl seeing real Southern Sweet Tea on the menu - Rachel set us up good with a togo cup of Sweet Tea with a splash of lemonade for the road.
