This is is a strip mall by Walmart. Doesn't look like much and is very basic inside but the food is great. The service is not very friendly (or helpful) but the food made up for it. General Chow's and chicken chow mein we're actually very tasty and each was accompanied by a huge amount of rice, way too much. The egg rolls were most forgettable and my wife and I each took one bite and tossed the rest. The steamed dumplings were four stars plus and the traditional dumpling sauce was very tasty. Although this restaurant has the word "Japanese" in the title, I'd say the menu reflects more of what would be found in your typical Chinese restaurant. Usually a Japanese restaurant has terikyaki chicken, but that was noticeably absent from the menu here. White sauce was present, though. I had the general tso chicken with white rice. The chicken was decent, but not as spicy as I'd like a good general tso to be. But it was cooked well, with a nice crunch level. I also prefer more sauce on this dish, so that the rice can get some moisture. The rice itself for this dish was also on the dry side to begin with. The portion for lunch was spot on, though. I finished my whole plate, save for one piece of chicken. I tried the garlic chicken as well. The flavor was strong, but good. But again, the fried rice that came with it was rather dry. Overall, If you're looking for a place in town that satisfies a craving for Chinese food, I'd say Yummy's gets the job done. read more

Well this was a hidden suprise! NO reviews at all on Yelp but wow! I stopped at this exit while traveling to get cheep gas at Walmart and WOW, its one of those places you look at the prices and your worried, naa it can't be any good if its this cheep! That may not sound like much but if you had as many food allergies as I do I actually carry a business card with them listed in English and Spanish! They have Japanese and Chinese food, and I can tell you neither suffer! I had Japanese my co-worker had Chinese and they were both excelent! NO this is not an atmosphere Japanese Dining exp. its a shopping plaza and the look is more like that of a fast food place, the menu on the wall above the counter. BUT it is very clean, Friendly and great food! So don't go there to impress your date but if your going for Great food at a Great price without the atmosphere then this is the place to go. as for clean, we got there just after the rush, I think its a family run place, but next think I know they are actually moping the floor! this isn't at the end of the day this is right after the rush hour one of the most important reasons to write this interview is to remember it for when I travel. The food was good and it was prepared quickly; BUT the staff who takes the orders are not people friendly. I have decided that driving 25 minutes to Jin Jin's in Sumter would be much better. The flavor of their food is amazing as well as the service and they are thankful you are patronizing their business. I don't think that I will be going back to Yummys no time soon. Was just passing through town on a road trip and saw this place on the gps. Looks like your average Chinese takeout place but a big surprise it was. I got the tenderloin steak hibachi and the portion was incredible for the price and they stocked me up with yum yum sauce. Definitely recommend. read more

Good place for a quick stop if you're on the road. We were driving down to Orlando and stopped to get lunch. The workers there couldn't understand what I was asking, and kept repeating the same wrong answer back to me. I just wanted to know what was in the fried rice and they just kept telling me that the dish comes with either white or fried rice. The service wasn't great but the food was prepared quickly, and boy it was HOT. I had to wait for it to cool off for a few minutes before I attempted taking another bite. My rice and veggies were drenched in soy sauce which I found very unappetizing, as you can imaging I had a difficult time eating my entire plate considering I wasn't asked if I wanted soy sauce, which I didn't because I have an intolerance to gluten. All in all, I ate the food out of necessity and if you're in the neighborhood looking for a quick bite but don't like subway quality since it's right next door, this is a slight step up from that. The best part if visiting here was that it was that it was two doors down from the liquor store. The prices were cheep, so... it had that going for it. I was only passing though Manning and will never return. The entire area was beyond economically depressed so much so that I pulling off the interstate I knew my only options were going to places that thrived on serving large portions of tasteless food and/or alcohol. Don't get me wrong I live alcohol! Unfortunately they did not serve any here. The place in general was in disrepair, and dirty. It was obviously run by a foreign family and seemed to be on the verge of closing by the aurora of lackadaisical effort, want or care. The food was editable, but that's about it. I just ordered my 7th and 8th order of seaweed salad. There aren't many healthy options in this town (Manning, SC) so I have even filling up on this salad. It is yummy, but no better then any other place I have ever had seaweed salad from. I wish the portions were bigger too. Initially, I was happy there was a Japanese in town soley for the fact that I wanted Sushi for dinner one night. However... they don't have any sushi. In thr end, I was disapointed. They staff became more friendly with each visit. Its better then the fast food places around here for sure. Enjoyed a second visit chock full of juicy, plump, and lightly seared steak and tasty yum yum sauce. I ordered the chicken and steak hibachi combo that has 2 scoops of japanes fried rice, well grilled zuchinni, and onions. I ordered without onions, and was delivered my request. I didn't enjoy the chicken this time, it had a soy sauce concoction on it that was absent last time. That should of stayed the case but not this time. Hubs ordered the General Tso's which was very authentic. A crunch to the bite, round abundance of chili pepper to each bite, the dish warmed us up pleasantly. The sauce was not overbearing nor too sweet like some places do. The sauce coated the chicken evenly, not flooding the aluminun container nor the bed of fried rice. With the location so convenient, there are other options that can serve and please. Pricing is more than acceptable. An $8 meal comes with a drink of your choice from their fountain or tea urns. Chicken was perfectly cooked, moist, cut to bite sized pieces, and no cartlidge. I will try something new next time when I return. The experience didnt sway me whatsoever. I stopped in today and ordered Chicken Lo mien combo plate which included fried rice and spring rolls with a side of egg drop soup. All to go. What a mess - I ended up with Vegetable Lo mien and the rice was chunks. The spring roll was horrible! And to make matters worse - the crunchy things with the soup were stale and cold. I stop at this restaurant while traveling. Ordered 2 Beef Lomein, 1 vegetable Lomein and wonton soup. Ordered food around 12:00pm. Waited 15 minutes to get soup only and people came after me already eating. Until 12:30 questioned them why my food is still not ready and their attitude was so bad :" Lomein takes at least 20 minutes and if you go to MCDonalds, they will also take at least 20 minutes." It turned out that they totally forgot our orders and didn't even try to correct it. In addition, when I I finally got the food, it was not the food I ordered and still didn't admit their fault and argued that's what I ordered. I asked them to refund the difference that I paid. I walked in and couldn't decide what I wanted for my mom, so I stepped aside and let the next person order. They ordered and left. The Older Lady turned her back to me and got on her phone. I waited and waited to finally the guys cooking said something to her and she turned around and was so rude, still on her phone. She looked at me with a mean look and opened it up and said "it's Japanese" and went back to her phone drawing a picture. Excellent little strip mall, counter service place. Needed dinner before a night in an interstate hotel. Glad we drove a few blocks past the initial fast food to Yummy. Needed a nice, wholesome, not deep fried meal on a trip back home from Florida. This fit the bill (which was $20.20 incidentally for one appetizer and two generous meals and drinks). Very tasty, surprising variety of offerings. We had Kung Pao chicken which was spiced just right, and a steak and shrimp combo where both the chunks of tender steak and the shrimp were done to perfection! I am going to take the time to write about this restaurant because I have never been so disrespected in any establishment as I have here. The food was average when I finally received the correct order. I will not take away from the entire establishment because the other gentleman that assisted me after this incident was very polite. I ordered a steak and shrimp bowl and instead I received veggies and rice. When I went to the counter to get my correct order, the female employee yelled at me saying "you said you wanted it you got it. You ordered that!" I was more so embarrassed at her lack of customer service than anything else. She then made a remark about "you not getting anything for free." She was implying I wanted something for nothing. I just wanted to know what I purchased and how I can get what I had ordered. I asked her what I paid for and how I can just pay the difference. She really over charge me for the steak and shrimp but my guest was already sitting and eating. I will never take my hard earned money there for such poor treatment.
