Homemade desserts (apple pie)

A really great family run place. We had lunch here. Staff was welcoming and friendly and attentive. I had a turkey panini which was delicious. My wife had Cobb salad and that was also great - they put some avocado on extra at her request. Best thing about this place is that the chef makes a variety of delicious desserts (peanut butter pie, turtle brownies, apple pie, blueberry lemon Bundt cake, lemon meringue pie, pineapple upside down cake, etc). We had the pineapple upside down cake and it was delicious. They practically give us a quarter cake ...not sure if all slices are that generous but was impressive. The cost was very reasonable ($37 for two) for us, who are used to West coast prices.

A local shop recommended we come here for lunch. We wanted something light because we knew we would be having an early dinner. The half sandwich, half soup combo was a perfect option. They have four soups available. I had the vegetable beef which had a nice light beef broth and the meat in the soup was tender and delicious. Everyone else had creamy tomato which they enjoyed. The sandwiches wers also very good. The gourmet grilled cheese has lots of smoky bacon and buttery, crusty bread. The California Reuben had a lot of turkey and a heap of slaw and sauce. It made it a bit soggy but i didn't mind. This only cost about eight bucks. This price for that food is perfect. Other places might charge twelve and that turn me away. I will definitely come back to summer thyme. They also have a case of desserts that look amazing. Lemon bars, brownies, and a bunch of pies.

What a delightful lunch spot. Daily specials that are made fresh. The chicken salad was served with fresh vegetable bread. Fabulous!!! The Ruben sandwich on fresh rye bread. Great prices and attentive service. Loved it.

Always good, consistent food and service. The desserts are to die for, so save room (or take some home). Fresh ingredients!

Great little place for lunch and desserts. Salads are really good too! Near the Milwood neighborhood and it's a locally owned business.

Kzoo Cat Cafe

Kzoo Cat Cafe

So after browsing Groupon looking for something to do with my youngest one morning, I ended up…read morepurchasing one for Kzoo Cat Cafe. We aren't really "cat people", but because of my husbands allergies my sons are really interested in cats. First off, I didn't read the fine print and the first time I tried to go here I realized it's only open from 6:00-9:00 pm. Well that wasn't helpful for me who wanted to go before (afternoon) preschool! Then I looked again and the Groupon I bought was only valid Mon-Thurs. so now it's winter break, I have both kids that want to go, and it expires on Jan 6... bummer! So I buy another Groupon for 2 and invite my cat-loving neighbor and we make a night out of it. It's hard for me to give 3 vs 4 stars for this. From a non-car persons viewpoint, it was so full of cats and people and toys everywhere and then there's a Keurig and snack bags for your enjoyment. What?? Plus I think it's like $12 a person to get in normally!! Who pays that to go sit and pet cats? Well obv a ton of people because the place was packed!! They said it was the most full they'd seen it in a while. Also this is a rescue and adoption facility so people can come back and adopt a cat after they've played with it for a while the first day. People were sitting all over the place, on the floor, on the ripped up couch, on the few chairs that were there, etc. and the cats were everywhere too! Most of the cats were very nice and my sons did love to play with them. Not sure we'd go back, or if it was worth the $24 for 4 people I paid. But I guess a fun activity to try out once.

I unfortunately had to relinquish a kitten I adopted 4 days after adopting her because (unbeknownst…read moreto me) she had feline panleukopenia (very contagious and possibly fatal virus (to cats and kittens) and I (being currently unemployed) had no choice but to find somewhere that could take her and care for her for free so that I could save her life. After a month of ongoing updates via texts as well as pictures of my poor kitten who appeared to be looking better, I asked if it would be possible for me to pick her back up at some point and received the responses I attached in the below screenshots. I thought that this was a good place but I guess I was wrong.
