Small coffee shop inside a larger building (sorry, I'm not from the area so I'm not sure of the name), I almost passed it until I saw the sandwich board on the sidewalk. I was the only customer at almost 8am on a Tuesday. Service was quick and friendly. The BEST food and service in downtown Kalamazoo. It may look like a plain "coffee house" but in reality it's more than that. The food is FRESH, HOMEMADE, AND SERVED WITH A SMILE. The owner is helpful and I'm glad I asked for recommendations. The chicken salad sandwich was made with REAL chicken, on FRESH bread. Solid coffee in this local coffee shop. They have a nice outdoor dining area for your morning coffee. Food looks good, but I would skip the breakfast burrito. It was pretty bland, and Frank's red hot instead of salsa makes no sense. Overall I will be back for the coffee and excellent service. I will have to try something different next time. read more

I was taking a walk near Bronson Park and saw the sandwich board on the sidewalk that said "Taco Salad Special" so I stopped in to see what it was all about. There was a big line, it seemed like it was popular! The menu sounded great, the prices were affordable, and the service was speedy. I got the taco salad and felt like it tasted a little bit like chili but it was still really yummy! They have outdoor dining available as well! read more

Totally Brewed Cafe offers a breath of fresh air and inexpensive coffee. It's tucked away at the ground floor of the Comerica Building. While not fancy, the restaurant pulls off simple well. For under $10, you can buy a meal and a coffee drink. They suggest their Cherryberry Salad, which accentuates the otherwise boring iceberg lettuce with cranberry raisins, cherries, blueberries, almonds, pecans, and feta all topped off by raspberry vinaigrette. If the salad is too lean, try the Sloppy Joe, because it's the ideal comfort food. There is no wi-fi, for which the barista apologized extensively, so view it as a different experience. Instead of tapping away at your smartphone, take the opportunity to try their Sack Lunch special. With a sandwich, pickle, chips, and a cookie, look back at the days of bringing mom's packed lunch to school. The cafe has seating both inside and out, and inside the ambiance is filled by yellow painted walls, rustic decor, an open view, and the low humming of their refrigeration units fill in the space. Iced coffee is delivered in a styrofoam cup and their salad is served in the plastic box, but it tastes both fresh and refreshing in spite of its utilitarian presentation. Met my husband at his work for lunch and his co-workers recommended we go here, they were right! We each had the sack lunch with turkey sandwiches and they were excellent. The sandwiches are huge for the price ($6 and some change for the sandwich, chips, pickle and cookie). We will definitely return. Also, the staff was exceptionally nice with us bringing our daughters stroller into the restaurant. They were also very accommodating when we needed to warm up her bottle! read more

This was my first time visiting Totally Brewed and I will definitely return. I was meeting my cousin for lunch and she recommended that we go there. It was cozy and bright with plenty of seating inside for a quick lunch, or coffee and pastries. There was also outdoor seating with a nice opportunity to people watch. The woman who waited on us was extremely kind and friendly, even complimenting my cousin's hairstyle. She said we should have the yummy 3-cheese grilled cheese and tomato soup that was the special of the day. We did, and we both enjoyed our meal tremendously. I was working in Kalamazoo, Michigan last year for a client and went to find something to eat for lunch in the area. I found Totally Brewed Cafe, went in to order and realized I had no cash in my pocket. I was so embarrassed. After talking with the owner about my unfortunate situation she offered to let me have the last of the soup (as it was late in the day) and a half of a grilled cheese, both of which were extremely yummy. I meant to write this at the time but life took over. They were so awesome and the food so delicious I figured better late than never. read more

Such a cute little cafe! The service was great, we had a server named Maddie and she was very helpful with providing insight on the menu. I ordered the turkey sandwich which came on this amazing oatmeal bread and my friend got the cherry berry salad which she described as light and refreshing. I happen to be in town today and stopped at Totally Brewed. I was told their Thursday special, toasted cheese and tomato soup, was excellent. It's not. I expected something a little more gourmet. The sandwich was a slice of cheese between two slices of bread. Tomato soup was from a can, and not as good as Campbell's. It reminded me of lunches from elementary school. With about as much flavor. I was hoping for a sandwich with a blend of cheeses, those are the best. This was plain, bland American cheese. Not worth a trip back. read more
