I used to come here all the time because the food and drinks were always really good and the environment has always been nice. The last 4-5 times I've gone the foods been good but the drinks have been bad. I don't know if it's just new staffing, but they get the orders wrong almost every time or the lattes taste like they have no espresso in them, which isn't how it was before. I really love this tiny spot for a meet up. Their mocha is wonderful, as is their coffee, and I love that you order, sit down, and they bring it to you! The indoor seating is pretty cramped, though it also just has a 'communuty' vibe and in nice weather I've enjoyed their outside seating, too. My friend and I were in the area and thought we'd give them a try! Very generic. The staff was very friendly, so that was a big plus. However, neither of our coffees were very good. They were made very quickly, which made us think some of it was premade. The taste just wasn't bold and vibrant. I don't know how it took me so long to visit Walnut and Park. This place is beautiful and their menu is pretty legit. Understandably, there are lots of coffee shops in the area, but WP stands out as a comfortable place for a conversation and an incredible employer. Everyone working there wears masks here! However, it's just one person working here usually. They do have contactless payment. They have some special menus for summer and I was told that it will be available until the beginning of September, at least. My fave is their outside seating area. Sometimes simplicity is key! My partner and I walked to Walnut & Park this morning to change up our usual saturday coffee shop visits. He got his usual iced chai with oat milk & espresso to drink and a chorizo egg and cheese burrito. The chai was not overly spiced, allowing the flavor of the espresso to shine through as well. The burrito was in the smaller size but appropriate for the price. Lots of chorizo without being overpowering. I got the rose vanilla iced latte with oat milk as bf a build your own breakfast sandwich (everything bagel, sausage and egg). The latte wasn't as sweet as I was expecting but still delicious. The rose helped soften the sweetness of the vanilla. The breakfast sandwich was simple but great quality. read more

Stopped in to this great new coffee shop near downtown Kalamazoo. At the corner of Walnut and Park Street just south of the downtown hub. The coffee and pastries are absolutely delicious! I had the chai latte while my wife had the regular latte and both were exceptional. It's the first day and they're operating pretty good right out of the box. Great little cafe, they have a good selection of items to eat and drink. I had the vegan burrito. It was quite good. The onions should have been chopped smaller I got about a third of an onion in one bite. It also needed spices or at least pepper, luckily I travel with my own hot sauce. The lattes are perfect, the foam art is on point, and there are properly-sized mugs for each item if you're hanging out inside instead of taking your drink to-go (exception is iced coffee). There's also a generous amount of sunny outdoor seating and giant windows with a cute view of the charming neighborhood. I've only tried the sandwiches so far, but they're fresh and delicious. There are other food items on the menu, mostly brunch things. Artists from the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts as well as students at Kalamazoo College and WMU seem to be here frequently. read more

A wonderful coffee shop! Very clean and bright, lots of windows. It felt cheery in there, seemed the staff was happy and smiling. I ordered my coffee and a delicious scone which they offered to warm for me. I took a seat at the window to people watch and saw they have a large patio with seating when it warms up. One of my favorite Kalamazoo coffee shops (and we have many options!) based on atmosphere and quality. Easy to access location with parking available. It's typically quiet and relaxed whenever I go. I prefer this atmosphere over Fourth Coast. Staff is usually friendly and they bring your order to your table if you're dining in most of the time. Prices are pretty good compared to other places in the city, a bit less expensive than Water Street. I have noticed that getting a prepared drink (like a latte, something more effort than regular coffee) takes longer than other coffee shops, so this might not be the best place if you're in a big rush and need a fancy drink; however, I attribute this to the staff many times being new/ learning (they are in the KPEP program) and I've never really considered it a problem. Food and pastries are always tasty too. I really like the chorizo breakfast burrito and the morning bun (like a cinnamon roll/ muffin mash up). read more
