They were out of creamer for the coffee they offered oat milk. No sugar on the table had to trust their judgement. Coffee was therefore terrible and not even filled to the top of the cup. Had their version of an egg mcmuffin. Egg was ok but the english muffin was completely raw. All this disappointment plus airport prices. Tried to contact their corporate HQ from the email on the menu but I got no reply. My last trtp I had a huge breakfast so i didnt have to rely on them. Cannot recommend. It's the only business in the whole airport, so it's like a necessary evil. If you forgot your gum, desperately need a bottle of water, or want that last minute souvenir, Tailwind is your lone option. And the prices are high and the quality is subpar - this is what happens when you have no competitors. Speaking from experience: I was "starving" and got a sandwich here... it was the biggest airport/airplane food mistake I've ever made. A veggie and cheese toasted sub that was nothing but a pile of soggy, greasy, flavorless bread and rubbery textured ingredients that I'm not sure were actually edible things. What was I thinking? So, if this is your first time flying in/out of the KZoo airport, here's my advice: just wait (or plan ahead). You can do it. Let's face it, you're: a) going directly to your destination anyway, or b) have got a layover at a bigger airport. Either is going to have better hydration, food, health and beauty, and kitsch options for you. Really, really, really. Besides, it's the KZoo airport: chances are you're going to have a layover anyway. And this airport likes to treat their flyers to complimentary drinks and snacks while they wait. So get ready to enjoy your in-flight peanuts and diet cola before your actual flight free of charge. read more

I can't believe nobody reviewed this yet. The cafe is small, but it has everything you might need for an early morning flight. My flights are always around 6:00 so no time for coffee at home. When they first opened the new airport I thought why have coffee here just wait until Chicago or Detroit and get a Starbucks. But I tried it and I always drink it while waiting and take it on the plane. It is good, just not what you would get at a urban cafe, so why wait. Enjoy coffee in Kalamazoo. It also has a bar, that I have never tried. Can't imagine sitting at the airport in Kalamazoo drinking! The counter people are also always friendly. It has breakfast sandwiches, salads that look okay, never had one, yogurts, water and a small shop with misc. travel stuff. read more

Tailwind is really the only option for food at this airport. We chose to sit down at the bar before our flight and grab some food. Drinks were a bit lower compared to other airports. They had an ok selection. I built my own burger with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles. Overall it was a solid burger. Tailwind was overall a decent place for food at this small airport. read more

For a small place in a small airport, this place rocks. I got the Cuban sandwich on a recommendation, and it was very good. I would get that again. My son was quite happy with his quesadilla. The bloody mary was made with Zing Zang, so it was wonderful. The beer and liquor selection was very good and better than I've seen in some places in larger airports. To top it all off, the people were very nice and eager to serve. I was almost sorry to leave. read more

Asked to order a Latte and was told the espresso machine was cleaned so all I could order was Coffee. You're open until 11:00, why are you putting away the expresso 5 hours early? The store is open but someone didn't feel like making an espresso and cleaning the expresso machine after. At least they sell you a bottle of water and yogurt for $10.00 that you could buy for $4.00 anywhere else in the world. read more

The only place in the airport. Super slow (with a sign that admits they are slow for quality). I ordered the grill chicken sandwich with bacon. They put a Kalamazoo Club up on the counter and continued to call. After fourteen minutes and two inquiries, the guy gave me my sandwich; wet toast on top and stale like a rock on the bottom with RAW BACON. This, a chocolate milk and an ice tea for the great price of $24-!!! Avoid this little sour monopoly and eat before you get to the airport. read more

We ended up getting stuck here for a couple of hours while our flight was delayed. No big deal, decided to grab a couple of beers here. There was a young black girl working behind the counter (This was Sunday, August 13th 2017) who looked terribly inconvenienced as we approached the bar. She was unfriendly and short, and was also pretty bad at pouring beers. We brushed it off and had a seat. I approached for round two, made our order, and as she rang me up the receipt printer got stuck. She let me know that her day couldn't possibly get worse, that some idiot loaded the receipt paper wrong, and that we were all holding her up from going home because our flight was delayed. She was slamming things around and acting incredibly immature. Sorry lady, we were held up too. We also heard her yelling into her cell phone about how much she hates having to stay late. Don't we all? That's life. Great little airport and not a bad little cafe, but they really need to get some better staff in there that doesn't openly hate their job. read more
