We visited for breakfast twice while staying in Ephraim in early August 2026. Both visits we enjoyed our breakfast specials (bowl style or traditional) or pancakes. Terrible experience, overpriced, poor food, and unsanitary! We went with two other couples and we're very disappointed meals were $20-$30 plus a $10.50 charge to share the turkey sandwich was awful, the soup looked like it had been sitting out for days, and the other meals were barely eaten. Our server was rude and had an attitude about splitting the checks. Worst of all he took a tiny soup cup directly from the outside decorative display and gave it to us very unsanitary and unacceptable. A can of soup from a grocery store would've been cheaper better and frankly more appealing. Using a cup directly from the decorative display is a health violation and giving it to us to use to get our soup . For the prices, the food and service were nowhere near what was expected. Food was ok. My husband had a cheeseburger. The fries looked ok. I had a chicken salad pita with cashews. The pita was stale and tough. There was a good amount of chicken but nothing else. It was supposed to have sprouts but I'm wary of those. Each of our meals came with a cup of soup from their soup bar. Kind of a strange idea in the middle of summer. Our waitress was nice and brought our drinks out promptly. Food also came out quickly - there was only one other customer in the restaurant. Prices were quite a bit higher than what I expected going into the restaurant. The place looks like an eclectic diner, not a nice restaurant. Total before tax and tip was $46!! This place has such a cute summer vibe!! Owned by local family members and has amazing soups and sandwiches. We tried the garden grilled vegetable sandwich and chicken wrap. Both were amazing! Good food. But the food experience felt misleading. The special was a half sandwich, soup, and dessert which was the same price as a full sandwich. To substitute half of a sandwich with the thinnest and smallest, not even a slice of bread pudding (like a size of a saltine cracker and a half) doesn't seem comparable - it should be clear it is a sampling of dessert and makes sense to just get a full sandwich for the same price of 21.95. I was charged for two iced teas because I was not aware that you only get one refill. When I asked after getting my bill, he said, well I asked if you wanted another. Again, vague. I was saying yes to another refill not a full priced drink. $3.50 is typical these days but you assume you get free refills like every other US restaurant. Again, food was good and thought service was overall good (not busy when we went) and felt good about my choice at first but left with a different feeling about the experience after I got the check and it all left a pretty bad taste in my mouth because it felt kind of deceitful and against the customer who is already paying a high price for a sandwich. read more

This place is just blooming with character and homeyness. I love all of the fresh flowers and original decor throughout the restaurant. Staff was very friendly and service was also quick. I tried their chicken salad and it was perfection with a slight crunch from the cashews and freshness from the sprouts. It comes with a cup of soup and I tried their cabbbage soup- which was the best thing. They serve 5 types of soup and I would've liked to try their other ones as well. We came into the restaurant wanting to know what kind of food was being served and the server said they would make anything for us and told us a few items that they prepared. We sat down and ordered. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato and fries. The cheese was barely cooked and not melted. It was only one slice of cheese. My 3 other friends ordered also. What I really disliked was after we sat there and was finishing our meal, the server told us if we were going to continue to talk, he wanted us to move to the corner and talk there because he wanted the table. What kind of service is that? I will never come to this restaurant again and will tell others about this experience. Your server needs a lesson with manners. read more

Both the decor and menu are both confusing. Not sure what all the broken cups are about and why there is Mexican food on the menu. Soup is good, but $9.95 for a three ounce cup is insane. Crazy expensive! I had been to this restaurant for lunch 4-5 years ago and decided to visit it again for a light lunch. The restaurant was not very crowded at 12:30. The prices were unbelievably high even for Door County! I told my waiter I was looking for something light for lunch because he was suggesting the $20 special which included the soup bar. I ended up ordering the Pita Pocket of Chicken Salad for $18.95!!! It included a thin slice of cantaloupe, some grapes and 1 trip to the soup bar for a cup of soup. While it was tasty, the price left a bad taste in my mouth. When I returned home I checked the online menu which listed my lunch choice at $12.95. A cup of soup on the online menu was listed at $5.95, but $9.95 on the menu in the restaurant. I ate at several different restaurants during my stay in Door County and none of them was this out of line with their prices. Moral of this review: CHECK THE MENU BEFORE BEING SEATED! read more

Love the look of this place: kindofa hippy flower cild vibe with antiques and flowers abound. Service : great. Lovely woman who's been there forever and knows everyone in the area. They do breakfast lunch and dinner, but we had breakfast there twice. We had the same dishes each time, because we liked them so much the first time: cherry French Toast and cherry pancakes. The service was great. No issues there. He was an older Hispanic guy and was very friendly. The younger Hispanic guy was always nice from what I was hearing. The food was expensive. Burgers were $17 each. They were so basic too.One had only ketchup and one had ketchup, tomato, onion. I had a Philly turkey sandwich. It was very good. The bread was so fresh and soft. I the inside was perfectly grilled. I definitely enjoyed it. The soups were delicious. I had the chicken cilantro had a nice little kick to it. My aunt had the chicken and dumpling. She said it was delicious and that it had the good dumplings. I was also tempted to buy the soup cookbooks but opted not too. read more

Soup was good, choices a bit different: chicken dumpling, French cabbage, mushroom and rice, chicken cilantro and tomato dill. Online price for a cup of soup $5.95; actual price $9.95. Wanted to like the ground beef enchiladas but unfortunately the red sauce tasted like a can of old El Paso was opened and dumped over. Rice with the meal was not cooked and refried beans- nothing special for $25.95. Person with me had seafood platter which consisted of 'diced potatoes' 'homemade', water logged 'Caribbean' vegetables which were cauliflower, carrots, lima beans, onion and zucchini. The seafood were two pieces of over fried perch and 4 thickly coated crunchy fried shrimp all for $30.95. Very disappointing meals for the prices. read more

Very cutesy place. Lots of curb appeal. Five soups, good flavors, rather thick. Mexican food prepared elsewhere, but very tasty. Overworked waiter who literally ran from one table to the next. Difficult to get something not on the menu. Just a grilled chicken breast (no oil) because of a stomach problem. Came as cut greased chicken pieces in a pita with fruit. The problem-- the waitstaff and the cook were overworked and couldn't take the time to listen to the concern. Also had cherry pie. Door County needs to have a cherry pie contest! Such a cute little place! We were seated in the small sunroom which is absolutely darling. Our server was a nice gentleman who learned my name and called me by it during our entire lunch and he complemented my mother, overall such a cordial man. His name was Nino. The food is priced very well for how amazing it is. I recommend the Pita of Chicken sandwich if you like fajitas. They serve all entrees with a cup of soup which you take to a soup bar and take which one you want along with crackers and bread and butter. The vibrant flowers and warm atmosphere were very appealing, and the luncheon menu, with its wide range of soups and sandwiches, gave us plenty of options for our meal. Our party of four enjoyed the chicken cashew salad pita, the sriracha bourbon chicken wrap (2 of us), and the grilled cheese with tomato on sourdough. All of us opted to enjoy the soup and fresh fruit as sides for our meal. We had choices of five soups, and we chose chicken dumpling, chicken wild rice, and French cabbage. All of us enjoyed our soup and a slice of homemade, fresh bread. The sandwiches and fruit arrived very quickly. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. Service was attentive without being "hovering." This place could easily be overlooked. But, it has a great warm and inviting feeling and great soup. My wife and I spent the rather cool morning walking th beaches at Whitefish Dunes State Park. Soup sounded good after getting pretty chilly outside. The "Taster's Choice" allowed for unlimited cups of delicious soup. There were five options including my favorite, the Chicken Cilantro. My wife preferred the Spicy Tomato Dill, which I admit, was also very good. The chicken dumpling, mushroom, and french cabbage soups were all very good.
