Come for the food and the views, not for the ambiance or service. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor above the hotel lobby. The ambiance is lacking, almost cafeteria atmosphere. But the view of the lake from the panoramic windows is fantastic, especially at sunset. The food was actually quite good. I had a half rack of ribs that were tender, perfectly cooked, and had a perfect sauce. My wife's pear and goat cheese salad with salmon was solid as well. The service was OK. It was just one server hanging the whole floor. And even though there were only a few tables seated, they were spread a little thin. read more

The restaurant is above the resort office. The service was excellent! We were checked on frequently without being hovered over. The sausage gravy was good but not great. The biscuit was incredibly good! The hash browns were very good. The Door County cherry pancakes with warm maple syrup were fantastic! There was only one other table with people seated. This could be a hidden gem. Also the view was beautiful! read more

I wasn't impressed. We stopped here during the late afternoon...we just wanted a pick me up. I ordered coffee and then we decided to order something small for dinner. We split a pear salad and it was good. I also decided on the grilled ham and cheese. It sounded really good. Flavor-wise it tasted fine, but it was an expensive sandwich and it was really, really thin...like a sandwich a mother would make for her 3rd grader's school lunch. Not kidding. It should have been half the price for that size of a sandwich. They were short staffed and the place was filling up fast so I didn't question it. The waiter said he would come back to refill my coffee, but he never did. Nor did I ever get a refill of water...so food was so so and service was borderline non-existent. read more

We came here for breakfast, after being informed of a 2 hour wait at Al Johnson's in Sister Bay. We overheard other people saying they did the same thing. No wait here, we were seated right away at a table next to the window, overlooking the bay. The restaurant is located on the second floor of the resort- you have to go through the "office" entrance and head upstairs. Food portions were generous and priced well. The servers were very attentive and prompt. If you're looking to enjoy a more relaxing meal away from the hustle and bustle of Sister Bay, Ephraim and this breakfast spot are the chill vibe with a pretty view, minus the crowds. We stayed at Ephraim Shores resort which is a great hotel. The new restaurant above their office smelled good from the hotel lobby and the hotel gave us a 10% off coupon so we took a chance. I am glad we did. The food was excellent and the service is fantastic. We had a table on the window, which is most of them. Isabelle was very nice and the places filled up while we were there. I had their cherry stuffed French toast which was just as good as the White Gull without a two hour wait and plus, look at your view! read more

We stopped in on a whim for lunch. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It was amazing, the pork was lean tender and chopped, served on a toasted bun. I know I will be thinking about this sandwich until we come back again to get another one! The restaurant is located in the Ephraim Shores Resort on the second floor. This is a hidden gem. We stopped for breakfast and then went back for the Friday night fish fry. The owners are a young couple that was extremely friendly. The experience was top rated. If your in the area I highly recommend you stop eat here. read more

We came for the view, but the food was excellent! We both got the smoked cheddar and bacon grilled chicken on a ciabatta roll. Fantastic! The waiter/owner was delightful. We then had the peach and blueberry cake for dessert. It was warm with whipped creme and ice cream. We highly recommend this homemade dessert. It has a great Turkey dinner special on Sunday nights. Highly recommend. Sitting up high above the water gives a great view of the lake.

Visiting from the east coast recently...apparently, my question about ingredients proved annoying to the waiter and the chef. I needed to know the ingredients of a certain dish before ordering it, as consuming a certain ingredient is sure to cause anaphylaxis. My question was met with opposition and hostility. Not only that, but the waiter refused to check with the chef about ingredients. In all my business travels, I have not encountered a restaurant employee or kitchen staff unwilling to address a question regarding ingredients, when it comes to the health and well-being of the person ordering food. Granted, some do not have answers about the meal preparation; however, to refuse to ask and to treat the customer with hostility for simply asking the question is unacceptable. In this day & age, food intolerances and anaphylactic reactions to certain foods (i.e. peanuts) are highly common. Asking questions before eating certain dishes is the smart thing to do, is it not? Would the restaurant have wanted a customer to have an anaphylactic reaction during dinner? Refusing to address a question, and rebuking a paying customer for asking it, are simply rash and uncaring. We stayed in Ephraim this weekend. Went to the Sunset Harbor Grill for breakfast. The food was outstanding! The service was great. Personable and made us feel so comfortable. We enjoyed it so much that we went back for dinner the same night. The couple who runs the restaurant were so nice! They had worked all day - and were still just as attentive and kind as they were in the morning. I HIGHLY recommend. read more
