I was recommended here by a coworker for their food. We came in for dinner and hookah, and my initial reaction was to turn around and go somewhere else. We sat outside first because it was a nice day, but the plastic on the windows kept the smoke trapped in, making it a little hard to breath. We moved inside, where the air was a bit better, but freezing. The place inside looked a bit run down, but I wasn't expecting much being a hookah bar. We were greeted by a server and ordered our hookah and food. The hookah took about 15 minutes to arrive, just a few minutes before our food arrived. I would take a bite then take a puff to try and start the hookah. I really liked how they provide single use hoses and mouth pieces for cleanliness. However, my hookah was tainted by mint. I had melon strawberry, but it tasted so strongly of mint and nothing of the flavors I ordered. Not once did we get a coal refill while there. We finished our food, which was good, then headed out. When I asked for the check, I noticed we were charged for premium tobacco and a tip was already included. I wasn't about to complain, so I signed and we left. Was in Dallas for work and decided to check out a restaurant with hookah. Not only did it take 15 mins to even get a waitress to come to our table, she started talking to the table next to us while we were trying to place our order. Ordered a hookah, pot of tea, and hummus. First let's start with the hookah, as a frequent shisha smoker I was not very impressed, they had instalights for coals and the flavor was terrible, the hose was very cheap and even though the hookahs were KMs they were not smoking like them. Tea came out in a broken pot so ofcourse it spilled all over my hand when I tried to pour a cup. Piping hot tea on my hands, definitely not fun. Hummus was okay, pita bread was hard and dry.Didn't taste fresh. We had to leave because no one was serving us. This was definitely the worst service I've received from a middle eastern restaurant. This place is so relaxing! I've been in twice and it's always good. Every time I enjoy some of their food, plates are pretty big for one, order a hookah and some coffe or tea. Let me just start of saying that I have been coming to to this hookah bar since my junior year of high school. And when I first started coming here it really wasn't that bad of service, but it was the hookah and food that kept me coming back. Now, it's just sad how careless and cocky they have become. It's clear that they could care less about how customers feel. There have been numerous times where I have had to get up and place my order up at the front after sitting for maybe 20 minutes-- even during times when they weren't that busy. About 2 two weeks ago I came with my three of my friends. We ordered a large pot of tea, and after all of us had at least 2 cups each, one of my friends looks into his cup and sees a WORM. That's right, a WORM. About an inch long worm was in our pot of tea. We almost vomited at the thought that we had all been drinking out of pot of tea with a worm in it, and my poor friend would have DRANK it had he not looked down at what he was drinking!!!! So my friend gets up and calls our server over to our table. He is like "Okay I am so sorry, let me get the manager." Manager comes over and is like "Damn I'm sorry that sucks..how about your tab is on me today?" (uh, I would hope so?!) and I'm like, "No that isn't gonna cut it. I am going to keep my free hookah coupon (6th hookah is free) and we need 3 free hookahs." (one for each of us) He's like "No, sorry." So him and I go back and forth for a couple minutes until he finally says he will talk to another manager. My friend and I get up to use the ladies room and run into him walking back to our table. He says he will only give us two. I'm like "no that's not going to cut it." but walks away from me before i finish my sentence. So I'm super pissed at this point because of this fool's audacity. I walk up to the front and start talking to one of the nicer servers in a discreet manner. Another manager walks up to me talking about "you are bribing us. we are a business we don't have to give you anything just because you say so." He proceeds to ask the manager that walked away from me if i was rude to him in the first place. He LIES and says i was rude to him from the jump. Both our original server and my friends will vouch that i was completely diplomatic in the beginning. He then starts telling the servers to call the COPS on me. At that point i lost it. Really, Sultans. You're gonna call the police after my years of loyalty and money to your establishment. I walk to the back to get my stuff and when I get back to the front, the guy is trying to be diplomatic with me. So I tell him what tipped me over the edge, and why i think we should be compensated 3 additional hookahs. They end up giving me the 3 additional hookahs and the guy is being super nice and forgiving and easy-going. We end up shaking hands and smiling and me leaving on what I thought, was a good note. A week later my friend and I walk into Sultan's at about 6pm on a weeknight, before it gets busy. So its real quiet and calm. Servers are being super awkward to us. Even the super nice one that had served us the last time. We sit down, order our hookah. About 10 minutes later one of the managers walk up to us and sits down. (he wasn't there last time.) He starts coming at us the wrong way, talking about "who are you to come at us like how you did last time? what gives you the right? How long have you been coming here anyway? i can refuse service to whoever i want to. no one is perfect. how can you sit here and demand 5 free hookahs." i tell him,"I've been coming here a long time. and i went off on the guy because one of them walked away from me while i was talking and the other threatened to call the police on me. but i do feel bad for doing that, i don't feel good about it. if its your coupons that you want back , here you go. (i handed the three of them to him.) He says, "noo!! it has nothing to do with the money!! it is about the respect and (blah blah blah)" but he proceeds to TAKE BACK TWO OF THE COUPONS, and hand back the third one saying,"this is a gift from me to you." i know the only reason he came over is because he felt like we got over on them by getting our free hookahs. and it is so pathetic and tacky that he took the the coupons back. and he didn't come over to our table in a diplomatic manner, he came at us like I was a thief and messed up for trying to get what we rightfully deserve. Honestly, that was it for me. I can't deal with them anymore and i don't have to. i don't have to give my money to these pigs anymore. i'll go where my money and presence is appreciated. period. read more

The food was a tad bit overpriced and the service was terrible. The waitress couldn't answer simple questions, she just didn't bother to listen and was dismissive. The mazza was great and the hummus and all the little salads that came with it was awesome. Both my husband and I had different chicken dishes, and while the meat was seasoned great, the chicken in both dishes was so dry it was almost inedible. The worst service I ever experienced in my life was at sultans! My friends and I waited for 15 minutes for the menu then waited 30 more for service that never came! The waiters would pass us by. This is a cute cafe near a wedding we attended in Dallas. We went in the middle of the day during Ramadan (as we weren't fasting due to traveling) which might explain why it was so empty. Their hookah was good, not the best but not bad either! Did not try their food but wait staff was polite and very responsive. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area. read more

I would give this place negative stars if I could. I went to this place on Sunday 4/8/18 for lunch and was surprised by how shady the place looked. They have the main entrance closed and everyone getting from the back terrace. We get in anyway and pick our own table with no acknowledgement of anyone at the restaurant. We sit down and try to get the server's attention to place orders but he intentionally ignores us. I have never seen anything as disrespectful as this place. Everyone else at the restaurant was smoking and watching TV and it was clear that they were not interested in taking any food orders. I also would guess that everyone was at the restaurant is a regular or has connection with the owner. After 10 mins of trying to get anyone's attention we had to leave the place as we did not feel welcome. We ended up going to Afrah restaurant which has excellent customer service and amazing food. This restaurant located just off Greenville Avenue, is a great place to try Middle Eastern Cuisine....I went with a group , and as such, we were served "Family Style"...We had a Garden Salad along with several types of Hummus served with the Manakeesh eg., Spinach and Pesto, along with the Baba Ghanouj....For the main course we had (believe it or not) "French" Fries..along with Fried rice and Beef, Chicken, and Lamb Kabobs...for dessert we had a sweet cheese topped with fried dough.....and while you're there ya gotta try the Hookah and get them smoke rings goin'.......!!! read more

Ordered the chicken shawarma today and it is delicious. The chicken is extremely juicy, the pickles &tomatoes are always fresh, and the peta wrap is thin and hot. Ahmed, is a superb server, the owner is always energetic and amicable, and Raina is the coal connoisseur who always manages to provide hot and ready coals for my hookah at every turn even when it is busy. As a young white female, I am always uncomfortable here. I even know the owner's sons and yet every time I walk in, I always feel like I'm being glared at by the older men or stared lavishly at. This is especially the case when I come in with a young Arab man. With that said, when the weathers nice I go there and sit outside on their patio. They make the pita there and it is deliciousss. They also have amazing kanaffe and will make you milk tea - they use Alawazah instead of Lipton. The hookah is always good, never ashy even if they are a little bit more expensive than the surrounding hookah bars/restaurants. It is a very authentic place (minus the french fries that come with your shwarma sandwich) and I'd suggest it to most people. read more

A good alternative to the other hookah places that are nearby. if you want to change it up from the usual jasmines or habibi's nearby try sultans. it has a similar feel to jasmines but less teenagers and a lil bit smaller but the hookah is cheap so its prollie worth a try. read more

This space used to be Yes Cafe, a small Taiwanese fusion restaurant that tried to be something hip and urban like you'd find in Taipei. But alas, they didn't survive. Now the Sultan Cafe takes its place serving Mediterranean food. You can choose from a variety of sandwiches and rolls, or just hang out and smoke hookahs on the patio. Update -- they expanded with additional space and got some nice furniture. Haven't been back to see if the menu has changed, which I'm sure it has. read more

Love the atmosphere of professional clientele that frequent Sultan. Food is usually between good and great. Shisha is also between good and great. Customer service is generally very pleasant. My suggestions to them is to improve their coffee and tea service with some higher quality coffee/teas. read more

I think it's a nice place with some reservations. It gets busy here, so service can get a little slow at times. The food is good and the hookah is on point.
