Visiting from California, my friend and I came here after landing late in Dallas. We arrived around 2 a.m., and that's when the place really started to get lively. This spot is BYOB, which would have been great had we known in advance, but it's a nice perk for an after-hours spot. We paid $20 to get in, which didn't seem too bad. However, if you plan to fully enjoy the experience, you need to get a section. Here's where things went south with ABI. A young man invited us to join his section that he had already paid for, which was cool. But then, the waitress told him he couldn't have any more guests, right in front of us, and said, "If you want to sit here, you have to pay me $20 each." Wait, what? The guy asked why we were being charged when he had already paid for the section. It was literally him and his homeboy. She repeated it, and security came over to back her up. It felt like we were being hustled. To make matters worse, this was after I had already ordered hookah. If we didn't pay, we wouldn't have had a place to smoke it. So, we ended up paying an extra $40 on top of the $50 for the hookah, which just didn't sit right with me. They also had people walking around taking pictures, then harassing you to buy them. Honestly, the whole night felt like the staff was just trying to hustle us. Since we were out of town, we paid the price, but be cautious about the workers trying to make extra money through some questionable tactics. DJ was good. Primarily an after hours venue but they provide regular hours festivities as well. Regular hours is not packed at all but after hours 2-5 is a more enjoyable experience . Security is strongly enforced here so please don't play around. There is a $20 cover fee just to get in the door. Hookah for two will be $20 minimum. There a dozen of flavors to choose from but there is multiple other fees so please be mindful. This is a BYOB venue so bring Ming your own bottle is highly encouraged . The place is a after hours and it's cool as a visitor but if you work there it's trash. They talk to you like a child. They attempted to take my phone for a whole shift after someone cash app'd me for their section which I then paid to the establishment. They never told me their cash app. They charge for everything right down to hookah tips. They want their hookah girls to clean and not help each other with anything. Attitude is horrendous. Security is great. They will charge you for tips, $6 for cups, and will try to talk to you like a child and treat you like a slave. The lounge now charges $300+ for seats or small tables to start, an entry fee, valet parking for most of the lot and high priced hookah. They have done nothing to upgrade the venue, yet keep changing the prices. If you buy hookah with a wrist band any time before 2 am they will make you re-buy an after hour wrist band or a table. I'm leaving my review on Yelp because they deleted my post on Facebook! Upon arrival I was told to pay a $5 coverage fee for myself as well as a bottle (this establishment is BYOB). Never did they state that I would be charged a $15 fee for half a bottle. So at the time of checkout I asked them what was the $15 fee for, the lady stated it was for the bottle. I told her that's not what the guy told be and she replied "oh he's new" with an attitude I might add. Then proceeded to charge me. Only reason why I'm giving two stars is because the DJ was good. Had the pleasure of going to abi last night to celebrate a birthday. We booked a vip reservation for 7pm but it opened at 7 and our area was not ready but the manager there was verry accomodating. We finally got in at 720 and had hookah by 740. They provided us with ice, cups our 3 hookah pipes and gave us an additional pipe for not being ready when we arrived. This is the place we came because Cloud 9 was filled to capacity at 2:30 AM! The music was all spanish, and I took that as a direct sign they had no interest in black people being there. Waste of time! My friends and I came in around 12:40 and paid 10 to get in. We then was place in a section of seats, their was only 3 of us at the time! A bigger group had came in and a guy seating people asked us to move and I told him there is more of us on the way, because where he was trying to put us where it would not be enough room for the remainder of our friends.
