MIcron will make promise after promise and do absolutely nothing, not even call you back, not even apologize for wasting your time. Here's the exact timeline of what happened: Week 1: -Saturday, bring cylinder head in. Told that they'd get around to it by Wednesday. -Wednesday, no call. Week 2: -Monday next week, I call at 11am. Nobody picks up, nobody calls back. -Tuesday, call again. They say they'll get around to it by Friday. -Friday, no call. Week 3: -Monday, call again. They say they'll get around to it by Thursday. -Thursday, no call. Week 4: -Monday, call again. They didn't get around to it. This wasn't a complicated job, and it was the precursor to thousands of dollars of work. You absolutely need to avoid this place. Do whatever it takes to never go here.

Motoworks has Vespas, so I went there. This place is high end and they clearly expect high end customers but I'm a teacher and not rich, so I hoped for some financing, much as I might if I bought a car. Motoworks encourages you to apply for financing online with a soft pull to your credit, and make an appointment beforehand to visit the showroom, so I arrived expecting an easy go of it. Happy to report sales people were enthusiastic about all their bikes when I got there, and never tried to upsell me. I appreciated that there was space to make decisions. Getting started was fine, and picking out the bike was positive. Nina encouraged me to try out different bikes on the floor until I felt comfortable, and I felt good about the bike I picked. All the people on the floor were friendly and helpful. Then things got weird. I sat around for two hours waiting to hear about financing paperwork for a 5k purchase. Nobody there gave me any insight about interest rates, expectations for money down, or even quoting a price besides the sticker amount. I was finally presented with a printout where they financed half if I paid cash for the other half, on the spot. Purchase price by then was up to 9k after taxes, freight fees, and a murky $800 "maintenance package" that had no details on paper. I wanted to leave the shop and come back the next day with my ducks in a row about the 4K cash from me, but of course they don't want you to leave. Finance lady suggested I ask the "gal" I came in with to help pay with a card. Then she asked if we were married, and told me it was OK to ask my wife to help me pay because our money was shared anyway. Thankfully my "gal" did step up with a second card, but it was an awkward surprise that didn't need to be so weird and nervy. At that point Finance lady was feeling ill, so Finance man came in to finish the sale. Finance man spoke curtly to me about parking bike on street. Finance lady offered me theft program. Why? Did they assume I lived in a bad neighborhood because I parked on the street? Plenty of people park scooters on the street all over Chicago. By now I am thoroughly rattled. After that I finally walked out and got the bike. Bike is stunning and peppy. Sales people were kind as I left. Financing guy provided registration and a plate for me to drive home with. Nina filled the bike with gas, showed me how to use the key, gave me a tee shirt, and gave me a hug before I drove off. Great stock, huge shop, and outstanding salespeople, but do your own financing before you go pick out one of these spectacular bikes.

He helped me replace my flat tire with my spare tire and helped me fill the spare with air. When we realized the spare was not going to work with the pressure of the air from the gas station, so Nate towed my car and brought us to their shop that is open 24 hours. He fixed my spare tire and gave me a new tire easy and fast. It was incredibly reasonably priced and an overall really great experience. Nate was so kind and helpful and made sure my car and myself were okay. I recommend their services.

The policy of cash only for tires with an ATM that charges a fee is fine. The tow price in this emergency was fine. The driver was fine, until he told me the "owner policy" for cc fee and no change for cash paid. My only option, he told me, "Call the manager." In an emergency on the heels of Christmas, who wants to walk away feeling taking advantage of? I used their ATM to get cash for the tires, paid $160 after tires installed, and you "don't have change." Cool...I ask him to reduce the amount for the tow by $10. Moments pass by and I'm told by the driver that the tow will be the same due to a $10 card processing fee. What?!?!?! Now, I'm charged an overall extra $20 and pissed. I just want my car and to miles away from this place...never to recommend it to anyone. The saving grace and reason for 3 stars was my call back to the dispatcher who explained the cc fee and acknowledged that I was owed change. He offered a solution. Until it's resolved, I won't be satisfied. I'm hoping for the best and will wait.
