When good employees consistently leave, management should take a serious look at what is happening behind the scenes. Customers may be great, but retaining quality employees is also a leadership responsibility. This is actually the second location where I've experienced poor service, and that is concerning. I would strongly encourage management to invest in leadership and employee-relations training, listen to their employees, and identify why good people are leaving. As someone who teaches leadership and employee relations, I would be happy to recommend a few of my courses. Sometimes the issue isn't the customers, it's the workplace culture and how employees are being managed. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because customers deserve consistent, professional service, and employees deserve a workplace that makes them want to stay. I will be going to the benefit counter at Ulta. I hear the service is great there. :)

Literally hundreds of dollars spent there for over a decade, and I was blown off today. Because I had the audacity to try to call them, not once, but THREE different times, and they never answered the phone. Desperately trying to let them know that I was running 4 minutes late. Four. They refused to go beyond a five minute grace period. When this place changed to one location, off William Cannon, I was not the only one impacted. There were many of us who were loyal to the 47th St. location, but who kept coming down south, even though it's over a 40 minute drive, because we like the brand. It's this sort of customer loyalty that businesses should be grateful for! Instead? I got no phone call, no follow up email, no attempt to touch base with me to try to work this out, and come to a better understanding. Nothing. So thank you for using me for my money! Way to go. It's not about the money. It's not about not being allowed to be four minutes late. It's about being blown off, when local businesses tout building relationships" with clients. My going there for 12 years, was that not proving that I was loyal? Fuck You, Waxing Studio. Those of you who want to go there still, that's on you. Beware of being blown off, and treated like you are a cog in the machine, just like anybody else. It's that sort of corporate BS I was hoping to avoid in the first place. Period.

Always incredible service! The best place in South Austin for all waxing and skincare needs!…read more Clean inviting studio and I have never had a bad service by any of the estheticians.

First visit: I look…read morelike an extra in Planet Of The Apes, as you all know so well. Decided it was time to evolve into two separate eyebrows. Brazilia took my epic unibrow and made it into two much smaller caterpillars. They did such a good job that I was barely recognized at this week's Mensa meeting. Second visit: So, I was asked to star in a porno movie. Normally, I'd have said no, as it conflicts with my religion (Non-Denominational Catholic Moonie Mormon, with a side of Muslimish Buddhistic Hindu), but when I heard it was local, I figured, why not help the economy. And, to be honest, when I learned the production featured plus-sized women and midgets (interestingly, that's not un-PC; apparently the term Little People is frowned upon in the industry), I had no choice. I am all about Keeping Austin Normal, and supporting diversity. I said yes, to cheers and high fives from the fluffers' room. "Kyley Wadd, your time has come!", said the director. "But wait for my signal, and stay out of her spotlight." All was fine until he insisted that I "shave my package". I got a little queasy, uneasy, and even somewhat skeezy, muh neezy. He said it was standard practice; "it'll make your johnson look tall and lonesome". But I was uncertain. Hitchcock (the director's real name) smiled and handed me a free coupon to what he called "the hippest hottest most 0/1 reviewed happenin'est high-five slappin'est waxin' joint in town. Now go wax your joint." I entered the spa sheepishly (by which I mean that I had more wool than the New Zealand sweater industry). But not to fear! Everyone was super cool and knew just what was up, or soon to be. They really made me feel at home, and when I heard about the 15% discount for writing a positive review on yelp, I regretted having a free coupon. Then I did the math and felt better. They laid me on the table and strapped my limbs down. "For your protection." Sensing my alarm, they soothed my fevered brow with cool washcloths scented with Oil Of Ofay. They turned on the Barry White 8-track I'd brought. Then they poured on the wax. It was hot. My god, it was hot! I yelped. "Do I get 15% off for that?" I asked. They just smiled and said, "This will only hurt for a second." Then they pulled. Guys, let me give you a little tip (said the moyle): Hold on to your scrotal issue during the procedure. Because besides the pain, I now have a sac that sags past my knees. And while I do have "balls like Wilt Chamberlain" (not my quote), they hardly fill out the scene, if you know what I mean. Imagine Morgana the Kissing Bandit at age 124, and you'll get the picture. However, there is a happy ending. (No, it's not that kind of spa.) When Hitch saw me the next day, he merely smiled and affirmed that I would fit into the production even better. "Keepin' It Weird, son!" he chortled, wrapping my sac around my neck like a scarf. The plus-sized gals were impressed, the little people (sorry, "midgets") were envious, and the fluffers took shots on their cell phones to send to something called youtube (?). The movie was made and frankly I could not be prouder. Brazilia is everything all of these other reviewers claim. And so much more. It is so good that most folks who come here swear that "it's the only place in Austin worth reviewing!" It only hurts when I pee.

Wax hurt like a freaking b$%^&. I don't know what they use, but they had to go over the same areas over and over again and it was PAINFUL. Yes, it was quick, but if you don't have good pain tolerance, don't even bother coming here because it will be the worst experience of your life. And this is coming from someone who believes they have relatively high pain tolerance. I can see how a short brazilian wax that saves you time can cost more, but the pain was not worth the extra cost. I ended up with bumps and a really sensitive and inflamed ta-ta afterwards. I will probably not be back. I will give more than 1 star because they were true to their timing.

We were quoted and selected $20 pedis and $40 manis but there was an up charge for a simple French tip design that made it $71 somehow? The color was cat eye which requires a magnet before curing to get the desired effect that was not done at all so it just looked like a regular glitter polish. I assume cat eye polish was part of the additional charges, but was not even delivered. The gel x mani was so think and uneven underneath from excess glue, we had to ask to have it drilled to thin it out so it would cover the tip of the fingers AFTER the service was completed and they walked away. They chose a different color than requested for the other mani that used builder gel and cost more without telling us. So much product was used that it burned under the UV for every single finger, which we had never experienced before. The person who was swindled into builder gel was ignored by the nail tech and she kept making faces and not even trying to chat or address concerns during manicure. Then one of us didn't even receive a full pedi with them skipping two steps (only got a pumice with no foot file OR callus shaver) the other receive but charged the same. At check out the bill was shocking, but not just that, the card reader only took $260 so there was a remaining balance. The cashier then said she couldn't run it again so I suggested she close this transaction and create another one for the remaining $35. She said it wasn't possible and argued that we pay cash or use the atm. We didn't have cash or an atm card so this was not an option. After 10 minutes of deliberation, cashier ended up doing exactly what I first recommended, so it wasn't a problem in the first place and was possible the whole time. Confusing experience and definitely felt taken advantage of the whole time. Product turned out fine but no where near worth the cost. We aren't made of money so these few are far between pampering days are such a treat and this one left us feeling like we were taken for a ride. Do not go unless you have money to throw at a sub-par experience and end product.
