Here I was, scrolling on Instagram and my algorithm decided to be in my favor and an ad for Sugared + Bronzed pop up. They were opening up their new location in Uptown Park and had a promotion going for a free Brazilian sugaring or bronzing. Since I was born with a tan, I opted for the Brazilian. I went on their website which was very organized and beautifully laid out and booked my appointment. They sent an email, text and reminder text with parking instructions which was so helpful. I got there 3 mins after my appointment and I didn't have to hassle with parking because there was plenty to choose from. The girls were super receptive when I walked in, checked me in, and my specialist Flor came and got me. When I got to the room, she walked me through the process and then we got started. When I tell you she sugared EVERYTHING!!!!!!! This is what a Brazilian should be. She did my inner thigh and all the areas around. It was painless and she talked me through it the whole time. This was by far one of the best experiences I've had and mind you I've been waxing for 11 years and sugaring for one year. The space was so clean and I'm glad to have been one of their first customers. I can't wait to snag a membership here from the options they have available. I'm a Sugarista haha. I prefer to get sugared over hard waxing so when my go-to sugaring place closed down that was located near by, I was hurt and on the prowl for another sugaring spa near my home. I searched on Yelp for the a modern and affordable sugaring place and came across this place. I visited their website and their Instagram page which drove me more to want to try. Ok-so I booked an appointment for Brazilian sugar (upcoming birthday beach trip, YAY!) I had to change my appointment to 8:40pm and arrived without incident. It's located in Uptown Park in the "beauty corner" as I call it because of a skin and med spa nearby. No issues with parking lol it was 8:40pm! Enter in, was greeting by the front receptionists and completed online paperwork. I've been sugaring for a while so I know the general "risks" and "rules" involved. Mary was my Sugarer. She was very nice and gentle. She walked me through the ingredients used and offered good conversation. Very clean facility and love the design. HOWEVER, THE LIGHTS, THE LIGHTS, ALL OF THE LIGHTS (in my Rihanna voice) was brutal to me. Laying on your back with bright, white lights beaming down at you is irritating. I had used my arms to cover my face and eyes because of the lights. Overall, a pleasant experience just didn't appreciate the lighting lol. But that's not gonna stop me from coming, there's work around (covered my face). Brazilian was complimentary due to a special the business was running so thank you for that! The best hair removal experience I've ever had. I saw their Instagram ad for a complimentary Brazilian and I decided to try out sugaring for the first time! I was taken care of by Sydney (hopefully I spelled her name right) and I felt comfortable the entire time. The room was clean and they provide you with a privacy towel and a wet towellete to freshen up before getting started. She then explains very thoroughly the process as she sugars you. It was so much less painful than traditional hard wax. Not only that but it's not blazing hot either. A comfortable warm and afterwards there is far less irritation and imo was definitely smoother. They also mix their own post-sugar serum which is jojoba, tea tree and witch hazel but because I have a sensitivity to witch hazel, she excluded that! Talk about thorough customer service! They have monthly membership options too and if all you need is a Brazilian each month, it's only $49! I'm definitely a sugaring convert. I will choose this every time over shaving or waxing. THEY RUINED MY WEDDING TAN!!! AVOID!! I got a tan. It looked patchy and uneven after my extra time given than require no soap rinse off where all of it came off my face the next morning. I not have large spots of uneven/missing tan. After back and forth over text because they don't offer "free consults" the manager finally texted me to come in 5 days from when I asked if I could be seen only for her TO NOT BE HERE AND TELL NO ONE ABOUT ME. Then have the audacity to ask me to FaceTime her on my phone for my consult that I drove an hour for because it's hard to see on my phone. I drove an hour for this appointment she picked the day and time. Because she broke her wrist and updated everyone on everything else besides my appointment, I have wasted my time coming up here now TWICE for an awful tan. I came here for a tan because my sister sent me a deal for a free tan for first timers, I thought everything was good while I was there the tech was really helpful and good conversation during the tan. She told me at the end to rinse between 3-8 hours and since I came late in the night i decided to go to bed and rinse when i woke up 6 hours later. I've tanned for a really long time and most often I go to bed with the tan on and wake up to rinse but i've never had this happen to my hands!!!! Mind you this is AFTER my shower and i did scrub both my palms with an exfoliating glove to get it off and it won't budge. I think the tan itself came out okay it's a patchy around the tough spots which i get when done at home or a cheaper salon but this is an $80 tan! My arms are also significantly darker than my chest and shoulders which i don't like at all but thankfully is at least blended. Also even after my rinse i still stink like tan. Im thankful this tan was free I feel bad for the folks who pay full price the quality isn't as luxury as they make it out to be. read more

I visited the Uptown location for the first time for Brazilian sugar services. It is very close to my apartment building, so I was excited to have a business for this service so close. The young lady that helped me was younger and had only been in this role for 6 months. I believe in giving a person a chance to prove themselves. She was very kind and professional. A couple of days later I begin to break out extensively. I completed the survey that was sent by email to me. I expressed my concerns on that survey and no one ever called to address the survey or the concerns I had following my visit. This business started in California and it seems they only need customers to pay for their new shiny building in Uptown Park. I would NOT recommend this business for any services, as it seems the money is their primary concern, not the client. Extremely poor value system. read more
