Waxing was good as she uses the blue wax that hardens, which, in my waxing experiences, has been the least painful, however, I'm used to my usual waxer who plucks out strays afterwards & double checks to make sure everything is cleaned up. This IS the best Brazilian I've ever had. Kimmie is great and had a regular flow of conversation, which put you at ease. She uses blue hard wax which was absolutely painless! Her prices are very middle range, not ridiculous like a high-end salon, but definitely with much of the salon treatment. Her place inside Amado Salon IS hard to find, but worth finding. We all hate that time of the month. And no, I'm not referring to our periods. I'm talking about that time of the month when we dread getting half naked in front of someone else and they proceed to wax off any piece of hair they see. No one ever looks forward to the actual process, and we fear the day that it arrives. However, there are some places that make the process more bearable, almost painless, and leave no spectacle of hair to be seen. Kimmy and The Wax Lab do exactly that. If I say so myself, it's probably the best Brazilian I've ever gotten (yes, EVER!!) and worth every penny. Although I had a bit of trouble finding the location (it's located at the back of the Amado Salon, which looks like a house from the front), Kimmy was extremely helpful when I called and also told me parking was in the back (or street parking if you prefer). She rents a room in the back of the salon, and it's extremely clean and pretty much what you expect of a wax room. She uses stripless wax, which I love (and this one is a gorgeous blue color!!), but unlike other waxes I've had, she does a spotless job when it comes to removing hair (even when it's WAYYY down there). At times, I felt like she was my labor coach during a pregnancy because she tells you how to breathe, when to inhale/exhale, etc., but however silly you think it is DO IT!! It helps ease the pain so much! She's also really fun to talk to and really knows some of the greatest places in Houston. I'd definitely recommend her to anyone! read more

After the great reviews, I bought a groupon for a brazilian and am so glad I did. OMG Kimmy was excellent! I have to say it was the least painful wax I've ever had. She's easy to chat to, puts you at ease easily. and is very quick. Plus a week or so on, and there's not much regrowth at all (usually I get a lot of 'broken' hairs at the skin level at other wax shops, and they grow back quickly vs. the hair that was pulled out cleanly/at root takes a while longer to regrow). The place is nice and clean, Kimmy does a great job of distracting you. She is done within 15 minutes. The brazillian with the blue wax is the least painful brazillian I have ever had. However, I started seeing hair growth way too soon. I usually don't see hair growth until 3-4 weeks at least. Not sure if it was the blue wax, but my hair regrowth came back sooner than I'd like. read more

I have been to every chain waxing establishment in the city and a few independent waxers. This was by far the best waxing experience ever! Kimmi uses a hard blue wax and was somehow able to make it less painful and more thorough than any other waxing I have ever received. I love her!! I bought a Groupon for a Brazilian and was so happy I did! She is the sweetest and most calming person to be around during a Brazilian wax!! She did an AMAZING job and I was happier than I'd ever been during and after having the wax. She is very personable and comforting and doesn't wait forever to take the wax off which is a huge plus! I hate when people say, "Ok, I'm going to pull now...1....2....3!!!!" No way! I can't do that! I am totally spoiled with Kimmie now. I will only be getting my waxes from her from now on!
