Instead of resolving things smoothly, I was met with a staff member who was rude, dismissive, and spoke to me in a condescending way. What's frustrating is this isn't consistent--her attitude is completely hit or miss depending on the day, which makes the experience unpredictable and uncomfortable. The situation escalated unnecessarily when it could have been handled calmly and professionally from the start. If you come here, double-check your billing and be prepared for inconsistent service. Lady at front with blue jacket today was extremely rude and turned my service away due to not being able to see my ID for my name. I'm coming in comfortable to receive a service I called ahead of time and she wasted my time and was extremely insensitive. I did not know one was required and was not advised to bring one. Pros: Walk in no appointment needed Price was $15 not bad I think the value should be worth $10-$20 *FYI* Music is playing inside the booth and lighting is dim black and purple; vibe of the booth definitely will help someone who is claustrophobic relax. Front Staff was ok it was 1 young lady and child she was pretty business. It was more like this is your room and robes she give directions on how to start the booth see you when you finish. I can't say anything bad; she give us the space we needed to relax. Cons: Booth is really made for 1 person to be comfortable inside. So my sister and I used the Salt Booth one at a time starting the booth for one another. This booth is made for sitting up only. From the picture we assume the whole room would have been salt. Now that would have been cool!!! Spa robes was medium only. What no plus size people use robes. What to expect, once you press start on the Salt booth a light mist of salt will sprinkle in the air you will start to cough for a minute. Then my breathing out of my nose became very clear.. Like after a nasal rinse. You will taste some salt in your mouth it's not over bearing. While you are inside the booth your skin will begin to feel soft. Leaving you will feel refreshed. I'm not sure if this is a everyday thing; Red bull and water infused with cucumber,mint,lemon was offered to customers. I suggest the water just from having the salt taste in your nose and mouth. If you have sinus/allergy issues this Salt Booth is for you. Also my sinus, started to run but it was more a light/misty post nasal that didn't bother me like usual. The manager and her staff are fabulous. Every time I come in here I am greeted with a hello and told goodbye which I really appreciate. These ladies really know how to give the five star experience here. This is the best Glo Sun Spa 59 to in Houston and I wouldn't recommend another one. These beds are wonderful and their spray tans last. I do however wish there were garbage cans in the rooms and extra wipes to wipe down equipment so I feel more comfortable with Covid but everything is typically sparkling clean. read more

I had asked the guy at the front desk which one he selected for me and we realized it was the wrong one. He didn't do anything to fix it.. he just said "ooops that's my fault." While passing thru Houston, my sister and I decided to try halotherapy, as we have sinus issues, have had multiple sinus surgeries and were just plain o trying to breath clearer! I must say what an experience! It was nice, private, and nice comfy robes were provided! Nice soft music dim lighting! The whole nine, when it comes to a spa experience! We took turns sitting in the salt booth, and walked out breathing immaculately! The reception was warm and welcoming very inviting! She walked in the private room to show us how to operate the salt booth...the only drawback was the bench in the booth wasn't as comfy, if your looking for pure relaxation! Upon leaving one of the ladies gave us some pointers on how to survive living with sinus issues, and we laughed while grabbing a nice icy cucumber lemon cup of water which was very refreshing after experiencing the dry salt. Completely ruined my day. I knew better than to come here vs driving the extra 10 min & going to the waugh location. Girl at front was so annoyed just me asking about the spray booth & what I did last time. Quick convo & literally caught her rolling her eyes looking off outside like I was such a hassle. The spray booth I get in sprays 2 diff solutions. So by the second round ur dripping from the clear solution & after the dark solution your whole tan is ruined & pouring down ur body. Def needs more drying time or even better a fan in the room to dry ur body more between solutions & after the whole process is done. Or maybe them give u a heads up at the front, ya know when ur asking about the spray tan trying to figure out which is best for you. & lets not even talk about trying to get dressed with a wet running solution dripping all down you. Had to wipe off most of it just to get dressed. So upset. Haven't tanned or been to Glo in awhile because I've been out of town, although I haven't frozen my membership, so I was really looking forward to this spray & feeling good & tan. If it wasn't for the other location's good sprays & their great hospitality & customer service I would have canceled my membership today. Smh Looks like an old spray I need to exfoliate off. This is just from the solution dripping. & because I'm so wet I know my clothes have now wiped the rest off Oh AND at the very end I poke my head out the room to at least ask for a hair tie for my long blonde hair so it's not all in the wet solution sticking to my body. This is going to be a long one. But if this was just about the tanning services, memberships, and general staff I would give this 5 stars in a heartbeat! I would still be tanning here happily if I didn't have the experience I had with the general manager, Tammy, and the coolsculpting spa service. But, if you just want to come here to tan I would 100% recommend to anyone. The more expensive memberships give you access to I think 7 spa service a month, which have a wide variety at this location and all rock! So here is where I would make it a 1-star. About a year ago I saw that coolscupting was a service that this location did, so I went through it. I will not into detail because I can go on and on about how much Tammy dissatisfied me. I did a ton of research before hand and I asked if it didn't work if I would get my money back, since Tammy had never had that happened she said she was sure that I would in one way or another, whether it even be not paying a few months ahead. I spend well over $2,000 for the coolculpting not to work. Now, I do not think this is Glo's issue or Tammy's fault. Reading into the process it was stated that about 3% of people it does not work on. I was just that crazy small experience. Tammy would never text me back, never call me back. She only responded every other third text, which I sent about once a week. When I saw her in the store when I went to tan she would ignore me and act like she did not know who I was. It took basically threatening to get the owner's work email, because Tammy refused, saying that was a violation of his privacy, when all I asked for was his work email. It was a huge entire fiasco. He refused to pay me back saying that they never could pay back and basically Tammy should have never gave me an empty promise of any kind. He was nice and responsive, as well as understanding, but since Glo is a franchise it was such a difficult process. This back and forth went for at least 6 months. It was absolutely ridiculous, and it was mainly all Tammy's fault it lasted that long since she refused to do anything, including give me her bosses work email. I guess she thought I would give up haha joke was on her. The owner said he was shocked because he had never got complaints about Tammy, which I can see because at first I liked her, but while this was going on I saw how many of my friends stopped going to this Glo location just because of Tammy. She was never rude to my face, just indirectly, but my friends have also had experiences where Tammy was rude to their face, so we all left. All because of Tammy. I used to work at a tanning salon and my friends I went with were managers at one, so we know how they work, and this is the absolute best tanning salon we had ever been to, and this is the best Glo location, but we all left because Tammy wronged us all in one way or another. I actually miss going here, but will never go back unless I know Tammy is gone for good. I can not stand her, mainly because of the over 6 months of back and forth she put me through. Needs process improvement. 1.) Went in today to get a tan. They told me that they were in the process of getting new beds and that only two were currently working and that I would have wait about 20 minutes and that there were two people waiting before me. I was fine with waiting 20 minutes, so I said sure. During those 20 minutes, I saw 2more people walk in and go AND during that time the same front desk girl showed and toured around two girls. (It's been about 20 minutes now.) After giving the two girls a tour, she has one sit and wait, while showing the other one a way to the tanning bed. She then returns and starts to chat with the other girl who she gave a tour. I then asked how much longer it was going to be and she said "20 more minutes, the first person didn't know how to operate the bed and just got it started... so it's going to be another 20 minutes." At this point I got up and left. If I'm going to pay 90 dollars a month for a membership, I expect more quality and respect for my time. 2.) when I started my membership, I was never given a brochure or details of all what my membership included - I don't even know what's it called.... 3.) I always feel like it's hectic during my check in process. Someone doesn't know what's going on or there's confusion. For instance, went to tan there with a friend and they mixed up the times and beds. My friend got a shorter time then he requested and I was given a longer time. Bright side (pun intended) - they're getting new tanning beds... so maybe that'll make up for my experience today. All jokes aside, their beds that I've used before are nice and there are some front desk girls that seem sincere. Hence the 2 Update: I've changed my rating from two stars to 4. I guess when i joined, they were going through turn over and a busy season. For the past month, my experience has completely changed. Customer service agents are very friendly and knowledgeable. We have waited 5 min for someone to walk out of the back to help us... or even say hello. 2. Long Wait: The past 2 times the beds we needed were not clean, even though no one was using them, so we had to wait 20 min (both times) for employees to clean the beds... 3. Up-sale Pressure. The employees are on some sort of "commission base" which I learned as the employees unprofessionally chatted about it. lol 4. For the price, You'd expect better. Impressed. Went in during their open house weekend and tried the Cryotherapy. The first time didn't go great- I went in on an empty stomach and 2:34 min in, I kind of went blurry for a second. They got me out and were so attentive. I felt fine right after I had food. The cryotherapy was suggested to help my PsA (type of genetic arthritis). It's a temp relief. I went back the next day and made it the whole 3 min. That doesn't seem long but it's freezing cold and you are just in your undies and socks. It's suppose to be great for athletes. Def worth a try. I don't tan bug my friend tried it. Did a 10 min session and she loved it. It's nothing like I expected. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. I will def be back! Vera spray tanning is my new favorite thing!! Especially if you want that sun kissed look instantly without cooking in an oven! I found a deal for the sunless tanning on Groupon for $34.00 one month of sunless tanning in any of their spray tan rooms. I have used the Versa a few times before at a different salon and there are a few differences between the two. 1st Glo Sun gives you the prep spay before the actually tanning spay (other place didn't). However, other place had stick on slippers so the bottoms of your feet don't turn orange. Glo Sun does offer booties but then your feet don't really tan. Anyways, I just brought some shower flip flops and those do the trick. Warning! If you decide to go with the bronzer note that it will come off on all of your clothing unless it is fully dry. I learned the hard way! Overall the place is very clean and well taken care of in the staff is very friendly and is located right on 59 in a shopping center with ample parking. I called to ask about the spray tan and what it would entail and cost and talked with Brianna on the phone. I rushed over to get there before they closed to get a quick tan before I left for vacation tomorrow. (Yes, I procrastinated but wanted my tan to be fresh for the week!) When I arrived I was greeted by Brianna and she asked for my ID since I hadn't visited before and another gal appeared to let me know that they wouldn't have time to make me an account and get me tanned. Glo Sun Spa has been so amazing that it really just seems too good to be true. I used the free guest pass and have been tanning for the past 3 months FOR FREE. No catch. No obligations. No tricks. With the free guest pass you can tan in the basic beds for free for an entire year!! Every once in a while they will ask if I want to upgrade to the luxury beds or buy their lotions, but they are very polite and not pushy. The salon is very clean and high quality. I don't go during busy times but I have only had to wait for a bed twice in the past 3 months and both times I waited less than 5 minutes. The staff is friendly. It couldn't have come at a better time too because I was feeling mighty pasty for the summer. I went for my first tanning experience ever and opted for spray tan. For newbies, I recommend going to Glo Sun Spa's website and watching the VersaSpa instructional video. When you go, let the folks at the front desk know that you're a spray tan virgin and they will happily give you a tutorial. It was easy and no need to feel shy -- you're in your own private room so you can get naked if you want. I'm satisfied with my glow -- you almost can't notice. If you're not the spray tan type, they have plenty of other tanning bed options, including a machine that does like uber filtration of UV rays... (???) The staff was super nice and personable. Spray tan review The girls working here are very nice. The spray tan solution is the worst/grossest I've ever tried. Glo makes their own spray tan solution. Immediately after getting out of the versa I could tap one spot on my body with my fingertip and the solution in that spot completely comes off. I am a veteran spray tanner so I know solution should NOT be that easy to wipe off. Their crappy solution gets on EVERYTHING. It also settles in creases. The solution has settled in the creases of my neck (I'm only 24 so I hardly have any neck creases) and made dark lines in them. If you value your clothing and furniture DO NOT use glo for spray tanning. I signed for a membership and their rule is that you cannot cancel for 3 months. I will be canceling the day that 3 months is up and going to Darque tan. Darque tan sucks also but at least their solution does not run and get on everything. If only Houston had palm beach tan :( read more

I've been a member of a few chain and a few local tanning salons around the nation and this one is my favorite. They have lots of beds - I know at least 15 - and half our the "basic" beds and half are the nicer (but more expensive) beds. There are many different membership options depending on what you need including just the basics, everything under the roof, or pay as you go Besides UV tanning, they have spray tan which i have done numerous times and never felt "orange" or obvious if I prepped correctly. They also have a couple other options like steam bath and some other things but I've never tried them. There is one bed that's not in any package, called the Magic (something) and that's the really expensive, strong, and maximum tanning bed. i think its like $55 a session but it does in 10 minutes what other beds take multiple sessions to do. The staff are all very nice, smiling, courteous, and they try to remember names. That and the clean and cozy environment keeps you coming back. On Friday's they offer wine, fruit infused water, etc. for the customers which is a nice gesture. The rooms all have towels, pair of goggles, deodorant, and after-tan hydrating lotion. read more
