I stopped by last week to get a much needed spray tan before a beach vacation. I got the dark level spray, which when fully developed after 8 hours, did not end up looking as dark as I had anticipated. Also, I ended up with blotchy and uneven palms, knuckles, and toes, but that was just a result of user error. I should have used much more barrier cream than I thought I needed. Even taking all necessary steps to make the tan last, like great prep (exfoliation, etc.), and moisturizing religiously after getting sprayed, it still only lasted me about four days before it started to fade and look uneven. I think that for $35, it is a good enough deal. If I spray tanned more often, I would probably get the membership, so my tan would always look fresh. The facilities were clean, and the front desk employees were very friendly and answered all my questions. I recommend them! read more

This location left me looking like an oompa loompa. I kid you not, I'm left with lifelong memories (photos) in a wedding party.. ORANGE. I got a spray tan in the VersaSpa as I always do for special events (typically at the original location on 59). I waited the suggested amount of time and showered, etc. (this is not my first rodeo) My end result, an orange tan. I later found out this location does not use the Glo Sun Spa proprietary formula and tries to save money using a cheaper formula. I really wish I was notified of this sooner so I would not cringe every time I see myself in photos of a dear friends wedding. At the minimum, customers should expect the same quality across the board at all locations. Highly disappointed. read more

Don't come here if you want a spray tan!! The other Glo location off Weslayan is 1000x better. I've gotten over 50 spray tans in my life and never experienced something like this. Not only did it immediately start dripping, stain my clothes and my sheets, but I looked like I had bathed in mud. I showed the guy behind the counter what happened and he said it was a bad booth and just gave me a mit to rub it in (didn't work). Then my boyfriend got a spray in a different room and the same thing happened to him! Just save your money and go to the other glo location. read more

This location is farther from me but supposed to be open later. I got there 25 minutes before closing time. When I got there, all the lights were off, and the guy was wording something to me, but would not let me in. Finally, he came to the door and told me that they already took their last spray tan. I believe that he use those words to make it seem as though people were still tanning, and they were no longer taking any more. However obviously he was just closing early. He closed 25 minutes early. I've heard him before on the phone taking a personal call saying he was going to leave and close early. Not sure why management doesn't care, but if you don't care that your staff is closing early, maybe just change your hours. I hope that they get new staff that actually want to work. read more

I invite the same people who rated Glo Sun Spa lower than a 4.5 because of some minor incidental to please if you haven't recently, go to Malibu tan. Get a reminder of what our alternatives are, of what is the tanning equivalent of fast food is. You can get a tan t Malibu there and you can eat McDonald's , doesnt mean you should do either! you will leave feeling like your own stock went down when you walk out of that place. And feeling like even at the discounted rate they charge, you STILL paid too much! Glo Sun Spa is free for the first year! I bought the most expensive membership at Glo. I was able to go as much as I wanted for 2 weeks Then the transmission on my Ford Ranger went out. The dealership has had my truck for 6 weeks. I am afoot and they won't give me any idea of when I'll get it back. I can't afford $800.00 a week for a rental. My friends and neighbors have been giving me rides to work and back. I can't ask them to take me to tan too. My problem is that I called Glo and asked them if we could put it on hold or extend the membership since I haven't been able to go. The answer is "Sorry no." I have to go to the store and sign paperwork. WHY? My life is so chaotic right now. I feel like Ford is holding me hostage. My friends don't want to make eye contact afraid I will ask them to take me somewhere. To top it all off I got sick with Covid :(. I live on the SW side of Houston, TX there is no public transportation. Now I am sad because Glo gets to keep $100 of my money. I know I won't be extending my membership there. Where is the humanity? How many of y'all can do without transportation for 6 weeks? read more

Staff is so kind, I tend to travel for work a bit, so they even offered a account freeze that is only five dollars a month that applies to your account once unfrozen. 10/10 always clean, they remember your name, and overall great experience. Looking forward to try other services other than the tanning now that I am back in town. read more

I LOVE the facilities and most of the staff. Unfortunately, Britt's management leaves much to be desired. Rude, talks poorly about other staff, and yelled at me after I got burned using the hydration station. When I complained to corporate they refunded my membership for the last month. Honestly, I was just looking for assurances Britt would act professionally moving forward. I'll miss the facilities, but I certainly won't miss her attitude. If you're looking for an all inclusive membership option i recommend going to Malibu Tan! I'll rejoin if they bring back Eddie or get a new store manager that isn't so moody and rude. I absolutely love this tanning spa! I am from NC and was looking for a new spot to get some color before my wedding festivities. Side note:: I was reading the reviews and a little nervous about the customer service, don't have time to deal with snooty people! Well- I got an amazing deal on a Groupon, but decided to call in before- I spoke with Eddie to get details on the beds and he was super nice and answered my questions. So I decided to proceed with the Groupon purchase. I come in and greeted by Brittany. She was incredibly thorough with me on what the beds were like, tanning lotions, and reviewed my tanning goals with me. I decided to upgrade to the 30 day luxury package to use the variety of beds. I have been so spoiled by Brittany- each time she is there, she tells me which bed/room I should tan on next to achieve the best color. Other salons will just put you in whatever bed is ready/clean. I love the customer service here! They have 3 reserved parking spots and you can almost always snag one. The salon is immaculate at all times. The negative reviews on here are a true shame.. be nice and you will be treated nice! I joined at the Buffalo Speedway location and tanned at both that one and the Waugh location. Tanning there was fine, no issues. When I wasn't tanning much anymore due toCovid I dropped my membership to a twice monthly program. The problem is that I continued to be charged $59/mo instead of $20/mo. I didn't notice until October. The mgr Eddie said repeatedly he would be issuing a refund and that I would have no issues. He dodges my calls and will not respond to emails. My advise.. monitor your charges closely and expect zero customer service. And don't bother trying to find the corporate office. All the other Glo Spas I con tacted were not affiliated. read more

Although I was a bit apprehensive after reading the collectively negative experience shared by all who've ever been here....Everything went very well! I did not encounter anything near like what's been described. I went for my first time to this facility after having not tanned artificially in quite some time. The features and options of the equipment being used had changed and I had a lot of questions. Now I'm thinking about it, recounting our entire exchange, I honestly was probably pretty obnoxious, but the employee was super nice about it I had questions about everything: the products, services, types of beds, levels of beds, undertones in the spray colors, membership/non membership fee vs discounts, just everything. Lol. But what I needed to know was made clear to me. I didn't feel like I was a idiot or a failure for not being current of the latest industry tech and trends. There even was a problem that arose with a promotional voucher I'd brought in. It was acknowledged, addressed, and resolved in minutes, with seamless transition. The only reason for taking off one star is because the issue with the voucher was their fault. It was advertised to be valid at all locations and, as a franchise, they were not accepting it there. It didn't say "only at corporate locations", and that was acknowledged, and handled appropriately. I think that was fair. I really enjoyed it and I think I would still go even if there's a rude one. I came here and did the week of free tanning and two spa services and I honestly cannot believe how nice this tanning place was. Everybody that works there is the sweetest especially EDDIE. It is so clean and smells so amazing in there. Their beds are like magic. Their lotions are reasonably priced I bought a lotion for $60 compared to a lotion I bought at Malibu for 80 a few years ago. For some reason I only go at night because usually there's not a lot of people there and I want to tan immediately when I get in there and it's just really good vibes all around at night. They close really late but I usually go around 8 o'clock and everybody is just in a good mood there's never any drama but I never have to wait in line. It's all around such a good experience going there you feel like you're part of an elite club. read more

The staff was really nice but DO NOT get a spray tan here, I asked for double dark and I've gotten it before at other locations. I got sprayed but I didn't even change color. I kept underwear on to see the difference. I have no difference in color I am not sure if the bed was out of solution or they forgot to put the solution in the bed. But I just basically got sprayed not spray tan on me. I changed no color and I had a wedding I wanted to be tan for and it ruined the whole night for me. read more

I have been a customer at Glo for about a year now.. I came over after just wanting to try something different than Darque tan. I have been really really pleased! Their pricing is right on point with Darque tan, but the facilities and staff are really excellent. They somehow keep a very regular staff, and they will get to know you pretty quickly. The beds are all very well maintained and they do change their bulbs pretty regularly. It is also a very very clean place. I have not tried the standard beds, but I have tanned in every single UV bed- I dont have one negative thing to say about any of them. They also have a wide range of spray tan booths, red light therapy, the moisturizer bed, even a heat/ body wrap type bed. Good selection of lotions as well. Parking is always available.. and their hours make it possible to pretty much tan whenever you like. read more

As a self-proclaimed beauty maven, I can't get enough of Glo. In addition to the newest tanning equipment, they have a Lumiere Excel for light therapy facials, a full-body Hydration Station for increased moisture (which produces more even tanning results) and a FIT Bodywrap. I love their Pura Sunless tanning system. I've had hundreds of custom airbrush tans, and in my opinion, Pura is even better because a) you're in and out in less than five minutes and b) you don't have to awkwardly stand there naked a foot away from a total stranger. The color is perfect and I've never had any issues with streaking. I initially purchased a Groupon - $30.00 for an entire year of tanning in their basic beds. That's a complete steal compared to the $24.88/month that I was paying at Darque Tan, plus their basic beds are much better. Also, if you buy a lotion on your first visit, you get one month of unlimited use of most of their equipment. Their lotion is pricey, but my free month was luxurious. The only downside is that it gets crowded after work and there's usually a wait. I try to go during my lunch break or later at night to avoid the rush. read more

With their mothership being over near Kirby, I was super happy when Glo opened this new location off Waugh. I didn't have to trek all the way over to Kirby to get my tan on. I have been coming to this location for almost a year, and I love it. The staff is SUPER FRIENDLY, and not overly salesy, like some tanning salons. They always have the latest and greatest in lotion, spray tans, and new beds. Their packages are competitive, as there are a variety of tanning (or spray tan packages) to fit your budget. I dont' tan in actual beds often, unless I am going on vacation and need a quick burst of color, but I do the Mystic Spray Tan, and always come out nice and bronzed, not like a cheeto, which I have experienced in the past. Customer service started out great, other than the manager applying his makeup while tried to book my spray tan. The machine did not spray correctly and rather than offering to help fix it, I was given a tanning mit and told to "rub rub rub it in". The manager was less than apologetic, and extremely passive.
