My daughter and I had appointments. I specifically said 2 pedicures and 1 full set of nails for my daughter when I made the appointment. I even repeated what we wanted. So while we were there... she says something about ok get your nails done now. I said no, I never get my nails done, I only made an appointment for 1 full set and 2 pedicures. She berated me in front of other customers that she turned someone away because of me, and lost money...Me?? I didn't make an appointment for my nails at all. I gave up 2.5 hours, $120 for damaged nails!! I went to Sue's nails about a week ago for a no chip manicure, and a pedicure. The visit started well, and the woman who did my pedicure was very pleasant. It wasn't the best pedicure, but it also wasn't the worst. I was then given to a different tech for my no chip manicure. The tech suggested dip powder instead, and informed me that the no chip manicure was 38, and the dip would be 46. But I let her that since I already had a no chip color picked to match my toes (they stated they didn't have the same color in a dip) that I didn't want to do the dip this visit, because the color wouldn't match. The tech then proceeded to put an acrylic powder on my nails with a clear nail polish. I was not asked if I wanted to do an extra service, and I didn't say anything because in my mind we already had the plan set. So I figured it was some kind of strengthening technique. but somehow, my total came up to 46 anyway. So I was given a service that I didn't ask for, and then charged for it. At that point I was there for well over two hours, and I wasn't in the mood to argue. I went to pay, and I was informed they only accept tips via cash or Venmo. So I had to drive around and look for an ATM in order to tip the techs, and that's when I noticed a nail that had imperfections. Therefore, I had to also have them fix that nail. And the way it was fixed was by putting a whole other layer of polish. Which made the nail extremely thick! Less than a week later, it all chipped off, and now my nails are completely damaged! read more

I found this little gem today and I couldn't be happier. I called yesterday afternoon and was able to get an appointment for first thing in the morning. The salon is clean and friendly. I booked a mani-pedi with a dip for the manicure. Lena did a wonderful job on both. I chose compatible colors for the mani-pedi. Lena was very easy going when I thought to switch my mani color only to keep the original choice which was nice. I've been to Salons where the tech acted irritated if I wanted a second look at colors. Lena was very gentle for the mani-pedi and my nails look great! I will be back for sure. The atmosphere is very friendly not intimidating at all. Customers spoke to each other and it was very neighborly. Such a great experience. read more

This was my first time visiting the salon and I must say my nails are AMAZING. I received a pedicure and acrylic fill. The main reason I can't give it 5 stars is because they charged me for a new set instead of a fill. It was kinda chaotic at check out and I didn't fight it (which I should have) so part of it is on me. Just an awkward situation but overall will be going back and making sure I'm charged correctly. read more

Service: dip powder with tip extensions Technician: Jianting I don't typically get my nails done, mainly for special occasions or things like that. I had such a great experience at Sue's Nails. To start off, I ended up getting there earlier than my appointment, and they sat me down no less than 5 minutes after I arrived even though it was before the time, so great service there in honoring appointment times. I got dip powder done with tip extensions, and I think they turned out great. My nail technician was awesome. She really took the time to make sure each of my nails matched in the length and shape. Tonight was my first visit at Sue's nails and I loved the entire experience. The salon is very well kept, clean, and cozy! My service of choice was an express pedicure and a full set of acrylic nails. The pedicure was amazing! The nail tech who took care of the pedicure was very nice, gentle, and took her time to make my pedicure experience 10/10! After the pedicure I had the pleasure of Sue taking care of my manicure. Sue is very personable, gentle, caring, and a great nail tech. I believe this is the first nail salon I've been to in Valpo, IN that does not rush with their clients and actually cares about them. Overall, they are better than some other local nail salons but I'm sick of them continuing to use the nail grinder on my natural nails. I understand using it to remove the top layer of gel polish but they continue to use it on my natural nails after the gel Polish is removed. My nails are so thin and constantly peeling. I have been to almost every nail salon in Valparaiso. By far Sues is the best, clean, takes their time. Does a great job. I have had a no chip. And now switched to the dip. Absolutely love it. Never an issue and it lasts 4 weeks. Does designs, Ombre, any thing you want. Prices are reasonable. Call and make an appointment. They also do pedicures. You will not be disappointed.
