I gave up 2.5 hours, $120 for damaged nails!! I went to…read moreSue's nails about a week ago for a no chip manicure, and a pedicure. The visit started well, and the woman who did my pedicure was very pleasant. It wasn't the best pedicure, but it also wasn't the worst. I was then given to a different tech for my no chip manicure. The tech suggested dip powder instead, and informed me that the no chip manicure was 38, and the dip would be 46. But I let her that since I already had a no chip color picked to match my toes (they stated they didn't have the same color in a dip) that I didn't want to do the dip this visit, because the color wouldn't match. The tech then proceeded to put an acrylic powder on my nails with a clear nail polish. I was not asked if I wanted to do an extra service, and I didn't say anything because in my mind we already had the plan set. So I figured it was some kind of strengthening technique. but somehow, my total came up to 46 anyway. So I was given a service that I didn't ask for, and then charged for it. At that point I was there for well over two hours, and I wasn't in the mood to argue. I went to pay, and I was informed they only accept tips via cash or Venmo. So I had to drive around and look for an ATM in order to tip the techs, and that's when I noticed a nail that had imperfections. Therefore, I had to also have them fix that nail. And the way it was fixed was by putting a whole other layer of polish. Which made the nail extremely thick! Less than a week later, it all chipped off, and now my nails are completely damaged!

Such an amazing nail salon! Everyone is very kind and great at what they do. I have a favorite tech…read morethat I'm nervous to give out her name because I'd love to keep her to myself, but I'll share: Sofia gave me the best and cutest manicure I've ever had!

I have had quite a few people recommend this place to me and after finally getting my nails done…read morehere, I can see why. I've had gel sets from here before, fills, and I just got back from my first manicure (no chip) and pedicure here. They now have a woman who works there named Stacy who speaks perfect English and is very, very friendly. Don't get me wrong, though, all of the people here speak English and are well spoken. I mention this because I know this is a concern to some people when trying to find places to get their nails done. I had a deluxe type of pedicure where they exfoliated, pumiced, and dipped my feet in hot wax. I also got a no chip manicure directly after. All of this together cost $65. The price is a little high compared to some other places, but I've also been to cheaper places and was extremely disappointed. Everyone who works there is very nice and even the men who work there are perfectionists. I also paid close attention to how they cleaned the foot baths and watched as each employee took fresh tools out of sealed packages for each guest. I tend to bring in pictures of what I want and I recommend anyone else do the same, but I am sure they'll give you results you want. The only reason I'm not giving them five stars is because of the price (the cost of fills are almost as much as a full set!).

Look at the photo -- it explains everything. The service felt rushed and poorly done, and the…read moreoverall vibe was far from relaxing. My fingers were actually bleeding from the filing, which made me decide not to go through with the pedicure because I didn't want them anywhere near my toes. Very disappointed with this experience. I'll definitely be sticking with Chic Nails & Spa in Valpo from now on. You can send them a photo on Facebook of what you want, and they absolutely nail it every time! Only tried someplace new because my friend was going but never again!

Whenever I'm in Valpo, I drive all the way across town to come here to get a mani or pedi. I…read morestopped in at a different nail salon across the street first, but there was a wait and I was in a big rush. I was driving around aimlessly and then saw this place. It is probably the nicest nail salon I've ever been in and it's huge! They have the big, leather massage pedicure chairs, a waiting area and a separate section in the back for drying your nails. Also, they have two or three flat-screen tv's to watch. The guy, who I assume is the owner, is very nice. At my first visit, I told him I was in a big hurry. One girl started my manicure, but after the owner finished up with his client, he personally came over and finished my nails since he knew I needed to get out of there soon. It was the quickest manicure I've ever had, but also one of the best. It was very neatly done. i believe they offer additional services besides mani/pedis, but I have yet to partake in one. The staff is friendly without being overbearing. I hate salons where, even after being given the hint to leave me alone and just be quiet, they continue to try to chat me up. It's not going to make your tip any bigger. As if!

I took my daughter to Venus Nails for a relaxing afternoon, but it was a total disappointment. We…read morespent $300 and 2.5 hours there for results that were well below average. The manicure was an absolute disaster. The technician was clearly inexperienced and struggled with a basic classic service, redoing the nails four times while aggressively pushing for acrylics we didn't want. To top it off, her long hair wasn't pulled back and literally dragged through my daughter's wet polish, ruining the finish. After nearly three hours, we were too exhausted to ask for a fifth fix and just wanted to leave. Even after speaking with the owner, Justin, about our experience, there was no offer of compensation or even a discount for the ruined service. While we didn't ask for one, you would expect a business owner to want to make things right after such a blatant lack of professionalism and skill. Between the poor quality and the lack of customer care, I cannot recommend this salon. Save your money and your time.
