First, very nice people. The facilities are not clean. The soaking bowl for a manicure was very dirty. Tools were set out and not in a sanitizer. My pedicure was good - rough but she was quick to adjust when I asked. The manicure - after she clipped cuticles and left 5 fingers bleeding, I said enough. She wanted to paint over the blood soaked nails. Put pure acetone on cuts - ouch - to attempt to stop the bleeding. They still charged me 20.00 for a nail shape and bleeding-finger-cuticle manicure! read more

The salon was immaculate, and the workers were kind while I was there, so I didn't want to leave a negative review...in fact I was so impressed that I left them a 5 star review on their site. Unfortunately, the response from the salon inspired me to reach out to others. I received a pedi the day before my vacation to Hawaii. The nail tech (not going to blast her because we all make mistakes) cut the cuticle on my right, big toe. She was so kind that I didn't complain. The next morning, I woke up with a purple, swollen toe. I figured it would go away by now, but a week later, this is what it looks like. This infection has made my vacation painful since we did a lot of exploring and hiking. When I explained to an employee, they seemed to think it was no big deal and only offered me 15% off my next pedi. When I told her that I didn't feel that was good enough, she threw 10% off my 3rd pedi. Rather than take her up on the offer, I'm letting you all know, so you can decide if you'd try them. I know I'll never go back. Oh, and my 8 year old got a no chip polish on her fingers, and it didn't even last 24 hours. read more

I went in for a manicure and pedicure. my work involves constant hand washing and always on my feet so I wanted to be pampered. I'm not a fan of the no chip as I don't want the uv light burning my skin. I ended up with a no chip manicure and normal polish pedicure. I was disappointed in the manicure as there was no attention to pampering my hands. The worst part was when I returned to have the no chip polish removed. I asked for Amy, as she had done my nails the previous visit. I wanted a pampered manicure with removal of the no chip polish. Amy, whom i believe is the owner, proceeded to grind off the no chip. it's been over 2 months and it will be another 2 months before my nails are fulling grown out from the damage she caused. I will never return. I could have been a valued repeat customer but if you don't like no chip or gel polish you don't get a decent pampered manicure at this location. Very disappointing. read more

Absolutely love this salon. I have visited a total of two times. First time my nails were done by Lee himself then, this time (nails above) were done by a sweet women. I didn't get her name. Great with line work and very specific on shapes of the nails. I absolutely loved my set and will be going back for a second round. Highly recommend! I really hope their service stays the way it is. For the second time, I was denied service at Lee nails, even though their web site states that their open until 7:30pm, I was denied service at 6pm, the nail tech which I believe is the Owner told me to come back tomorrow, I explained to her that I would not be available tomorrow, I again asked if I could be serviced today as I live approximately one and a half hour away, she again said, NO. I had this similar experience with them in the past. They shouldn't post that they close at 7:30 pm if you're going to turn a Customer away at 6pm, the door was still open, the open sign was on and she was doing a ladies nails. This was the most painful pedicure I've ever had. I have some ingrown toenail issues, and the technician attempted to cut them all out. I kicked and made obvious noises that I was in pain, but she kept going. To add insult to injury, she then squirted more acetone on them...resulting in extreme stinging. I came here with my mom and sister for pedicures. We were charged $37 each for pedicures that lasted maybe 20 minutes. I was serviced by Stella, who was very aggressive and unfriendly. As an example, she would pick up my foot to do something and instead of placing it back down, just dropped it onto the foot holder. When cutting the cuticles, she dug in with her tools and it was very painful. And it still looks bad. I receive pedicures in Chicago often for much less and with better service and higher quality. Also, her mask did not cover her nose. Needless to say, we will not be returning here. read more

Came here yesterday with some friends of mine, each of us got pedicures. While the salon was clean, we were all less than impressed with the customer service and quality of our pedicures. 2 of the 3 of us has bloody toes due to aggressive clipping/cuticle cutting. I felt like my technician was very aggressive with positioning my foot, putting it in the water, etc. we were all shocked by hot water, extremely hot towels, and extremely hot paraffin. Most of the treatments only lasted a couple minutes, if that, including the hot stone massage, paraffin treatment, and leg massage (which was more comparable to just rubbing lotion into our skin). My color was not great, so I asked if I could change it before she completed all of my toes. While I did change out my color, my technician was about to paint over the bad polish with the new one I selected. I probably wouldn't have tipped, except it was practically built into the check out process. I'm giving a couple stars for cleanliness and the fact that we got in same day...but it's now becoming apparent why we had no trouble making appointments. read more

They talked me out of what I wanted I felt like they were rushing me then to even pick out a different color and while doing my actual nails. They looked nice enough when I left but within 24 hours the top layer started to peel off. I assume this is actually related the lady using a gel top coat on top of a dip nail powder application. I have my cosmetologist license for many years and do others nails frequently but it simply easier to have another person do my own nails. I will never return to this nail salon. read more

Went there today and there were only 2 workers on a Friday. I went in for a simple mani and pedi. My services were rushed and done very poorly. The nail tech was rough and very insensitive as well. I should've left right away when 2 customers came in while I was being serviced to complain about their nail/toe color had come off and wanted repaired. They had turned nearly 10 people away, because they were understaffed; very poor customer service. Five hours later, the color on my thumb completely fell off. I was so upset, but not driving another 20 minutes to get another horrible service. That was $69 thrown down the drain!!!!! Will NOT be patronizing this business ever again!!!!! read more

I was a walk in for just a regular manicure on Saturday, January 14th. The guy was very nice who said it would be about 20 minutes. They offered me water too. Then when I was called to the table and another guy started with my manicure, I noticed how dusty everything was! He had already started so I didn't say anything. He never said 2 words to me except, "Go Wash". So I washed my hands and came back to the table. Yes my manicure was very nice and he did a good job, but I doubt I'd go back again. Everywhere I looked, on the tables, there was dust-around the lighting on the tables, the tops of the mirrors, tops of the dividers, the table wasn't that clean either, and the mirrored trays the lights sit in. My sister and I have been going to this nail salon for awhile now. Well, today was our last day there. My sister and I both have ingrown toe nails that are extremely painful. Usually they always do a great job on both of us with getting them out. My sister had gotten the short, thicker, black haired, younger, with glasses today. I never seen my sister in so much pain with getting a pedi. My sister asked her if she was in a hurry and her response was "no i'm just tired and over today". That's not professional at all, by any means. Well long story short, she did her pedi within 10 min and did not put water on her legs before putting the exfoliator scrub on. Her legs are rubbed raw now. When it came to her getting her ingrown toe nails out she just about killed her with the tools. She was bleeding and bleeding and the lady did NOT stop after my sister told her to. We should've left as soon as we sat down, but knowing that we go there every time we didn't think much of it. (That was the first time we got that lady, ever). She was just over all extremely RUDE and VERY VERY rough. My sister left with her toes bleeding and no polish. They are so sore to even walk on. Pathetic. we refused to pay for a 10 min pedi rubbed raw and bleeding... but the people that we are, we paid.... If anyone is wondering about going to this place, I BEG BEG BEG you not to go. If i had pictures i'd post then... My heart hurts for my sister... * If you find yourself going there, at least do yourself a favor and pick the older man that works there he's sweet and gentle. read more

I have been trying out numerous nail salons in the area since moving here just over a year ago, and so far this is the cleanest well kept salon as far as I can see. The massage chairs are in great condition an working. The salon is set up nicely and feels more spa like than most of the places I have been too. I took my Mom with me and she needed a pedi real bad as well as an slight ingrown and Kaya really took care of her, making sure she wasn't hurting her by communicating with my Mom throughout. I didn't catch the name of my guy but he was quick without seeming rushed. He did a great job. I will return so hopefully it stays consistent. read more

First time coming to this shop, didn't have time to go to my regular nail shop so gave them a try. I got the classic pedicure the guy was very fast. I don't like my pedicure rushed. It was a decent pedicure. Finished transaction and gave him my credit card put tip on there and I had my head down while my toes were drying. He put my credit card on top of the station. I handed him my card that is what he should have done in return. Someone could have easily picked my card up or copied the numbers. I am super pissed off of the disregard for my personal information. I called in to confirm availaility for 3 ppl at the same time and was lied to and when we arrived there was only 2 ppl working so we had to go one at a time. The tech who worked on the nails did an awful job. She was rushing and did a sloppy job. Idk how anyone can go there with the quality of work she gave. She even forgot to color one of my friends nails. When my friend asked her why she was rushing her response was she was tired, which to me was extremely unprofessional. She told her how she wanted her nails shaped and the tech said no and refused to do what was asked, which wasnt difficult. Cut her cuticles to the point that they were bleeding when she left,went in for one service paid an arm and a leg for a service we never even got been going there for countless years from when she was at Washington Street to when she was in Walmart will never go back. Leaving one star only because it won't let me do no stars. Horrible experience! The first time I came I got a full done by a younger guy and he cut all sides of my fingers with the file and made me bleed on all my fingers. So I decided to come back and give it a try again but with another employee. Stella did my fill and a pedicure and it was the worst time I've ever had. I get my nails done ever my two weeks so I know how things should go. She never let my gel nails sit under the light longer than 15 seconds and when I told her they needed to sit longer she took the light away and said I was done. The tools Stella used she pulled out of a drawer then threw them back in when done so I'm not confident in how clean they were. Then when she did my pedicure she dug into the sides of my toes so hard they bled. Walking out my feet hurt horribly. Overall I had a horrible experience and might even be calling the health department. read more

By far THE WORST salon I have ever been to for nails in the Valpo area. First set was done so quickly to get me in and out bc of closing time. No manicure, cuticle treatment, oil, or hand massage and lotion at the end. Threw on bulky fake set that looked horrible before my vacation. I left in tears. I explained how awful the service was and what my dislikes were. My Technician offered to redo at a cost when I returned. I am still puzzled about that. upon return the original nail tech I had hands me to someone else who hurt me and filed fake set so short they broke at the ends and she wanted to finish them that way. I asked to just have them removed and I got talked about. I couldn't believe the second go round was just as bad!!! the second nail tech soaked some acrylic off but not all. Didn't want to do right and give me a manicure. my nail beds looked awful at this point and she was going to gel polish them that way. I had to ask yet again to clip cuticles at which point I was told $30. No way. She clipped but reluctantly. no soak or removal off nail bed. She put the gel over remaining acrylic. At this point I just wanted to be done it was obvious they did not have me come back to make things right and still charged me. I had an appointment and still waited over 40 minutes. I came in to get my old nails removed and to have the no-chip manicure. According to their prices listed in-store, online, and in their brochures they hand out: I should only have had to pay roughly $40. They charged me $70. And they don't do refunds for any reason.
