Tried to get my nails done here. The lady said they were completely booked. No problem for me, so I asked if I could make an appointment. The woman said no, as in no I can't make an appointment for a future date. I said you're completely booked forever? She said "yes!" So I guess business is great for them that they are completely booked for all eternity haha. read more

The woman at this place is so rude!!!! I called and she said they had no appointments. I waited a week, came in to make an appointment. Came in today for the appointment- ten minutes early - she told me they are running late and can't do it. And she didn't say it nicely. When I said no, you can't just make an appointment and then refuse to do it, she turned it around and said I was late and it was my fault. Clearly they don't want new business. No problem!!! I'll happily go somewhere else. EDIT TO ADD: we went to a different salon, had a wonderful experience and made a standing appointment for mani/pedi for me, acrylic/fill for my daughter and manicure for my mom. I was one of the people that started with Julie when she opened her nail salon. Have sent lots of referrals to her and Shannon, one of her nail techs. How many years? Because of health issues, I need pedis in the early part of the day. Now when I call for an appointment, Julie is very rude and nasty. She has even hung up on me, "because I have a customer." I was told that Shannon doesn't have any earlier in the day appointments for at least 2 weeks. She could do one about 10 days out at 3:30(early?) Evidently, that's what success is like. I find it amusing the negative reviews. I have been going to Julie for many years now. Never have I seen her be rude to customers. I don't go at the same time,or same day. They are all extremely nice there. I will ask the opinion of the nail length or color and they always tell me the truth. The no chip is the best. Unless I have been extremely rough with my hands it lasts. Ben after 4 weeks of them growing the color still looks great. I have had several manicures by Julie. I have never been disappointed. She does a fantastic job. She is such a perfectionist when she does my nails. She files the base of the nail to make it thinner and look more authentic. She is also helpful in picking out a color. I have had other manicurist, but none as professional as she. I will be an L A Nails customer as long as she is there. Their new salon is bright and very comfortable. I feel safe with the hygiene that is kept up there, especially as I am one who takes chemo treatments regularly. read more

Both my daughter--in-law and I scheduled both manicures and pedicures in late November. We were first-time customers and were serviced by 4 different people, whose work was very nice. However, about 3 weeks later, the polish on my nails began to chip and I needed to have the polish removed and/or a new manicure. I was having no success removing the polish on my own. Although it was getting close to the Christmas rush when I called LA nails to schedule an appointment, the person who answered the phone was curt and rude. Instead of suggesting dates that were available or trying to be helpful, she simply let me know that I had waited too long to call for an appointment and would not entertain any further questions. She simply hung up on me before I could say another word. Even my husband was shocked. I would think that her response was not the proper way to treat a prospective repeat customer. Even though the techs did a nice job, I will not patronize a business that shows disrespect to their prospective customers. read more

Love this place!! By FAR the cheapest and most beautiful option in valpo! The other nail salons may be in a more luxurious area but this place consistently provides me with great nails. I get my acrylics done here and get compliments all the time! And for only 35 total (without tip) for a fill with no chip and jewels. My nails are very long, naturally thin and very pointed. I am also extremely picky about how they turn out. When I thought I needed a whole new set they actually told me no, I don't need it, which I find great as most salons will try to charge you as much as possible. I have recently moved away and I am finding it very difficult to find a nail tech that measures up to Julie! And pedicures! When my daughter came for a visit she always wanted to go get a manicure and pedicure with Andy. Always said it was the best she ever had! Wow, I don't know what to say. On April 15, Saturday, I had my nails done. Both the staff and the customer service were excellent. at least to me. I saw an African American woman entering the saloon with what I can assume were the intentions  to get her nails done, and I think the woman next to her was her daughter (I say daughter since the two women resemble one another and one was definitely a lot older than the other). They opened the door and prepared to enter the saloon when one of the staff members aggressively interfered and sent them out the door. Because the other ladies and I exchanged glances throughout the episode, it was obvious that I wasn't the only one who found this odd. I don't know everything, so it's possible (yet highly unlikely) that the two women and the lady who worked there had some sort of issue before, but given that the two women were not aggressive and left when instructed to do so, I have other reasons to believe that they hadn't. I believe that this was a racist conduct, and I say this because of how quickly this woman ejected the two women with, in my opinion, no justification. My stomach turned when I witnessed this, and I won't be returning. Last but not least, if the two women who were ejected happen to see this, please accept my deepest apologies. You two were dressed so nicely with the purpose of unwinding and getting your nails done, but were regrettably asked to leave. You didn't do anything to deserve what happened. Finally, I'd like to say shame on you to the Asian woman who ejected them from the establishment (I'm assuming you were the manager since you had the authority to do so). We live in America, the most diverse nation in the world; who do you think you are? What gives you the authority to remove someone from a building based on their skin color? It's 2023; if you want to practice prejudice acts, you shouldn't have even chose to live in this country. read more

After reading other reviews, I have to say, they are good with walk-ins if it's not too time consuming. They have regular customers that schedule in advance, so they likely were expecting already scheduled appointments at times they turned away a walk-in. Julie and all the girls there have always been very sweet to me and my friend. We just make sure to call a couple days ahead to see what's available. They do great work and I have yet to have a bad experience there. read more

Paid $40 for the deluxe pedicure. The girl filed my toe nails "straight" across. But they are extremely uneven...meaning that one side of the nail goes up at an angle. Left smears of nail polish on the skin. Didn't completely rinse off the honey sugar scrub from my legs or the mask that was put on my feet. She was friendly, but just did a very poor job. Horrible service. They have a large sign saying Walkins Welcome. I go in and no one says hello or if they can help me. I asked four times if I needed to sign in. A woman from the back finally came up and sighed and stared at the clock when I said I needed a no chip manicure. It was 5 pm and the close at 7 pm and no one was sitting in the waiting area. She then tried to convince me I didn't want a no chip. I finally had a manicurist sit me down and she didn't push back my cuticles or anything except lightly file and just paint. Wow...don't bother. After being a customer for the past year, I was treated extremely rudely by Julie, the owner. I called and made an appointment for 3 people. When we walked in for our scheduled appointment the owner started yelling at us that she couldn't fit us in. I explained that I had made an appointment and she actually argued with me that I had not. Then she looked at her book and read my name off, yet still insisted the appointment wasn't valid. She was unbelievably rude. It certainly opened our eyes to the kind of business she runs. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! After being a frequent customer a few years ago I stopped going and getting my nails done for a while. WIth summer here I succumbed to pinterest and took a picture of some super cute nails with me back to LA Nails to see if they would do them. Not only did they, but I was shocked at the nice new renovation! Great pedicure, friendly people, and a gorgeous manicure that was exactly what I wanted. Plus, the prices are fantastic.
