Lots of specials that change weekly. It's dark inside with lots of great decor and memorabilia. The employees were friendly and helpful. They offer homemade limoncello. Events during the week like trivia night, karaoke and bingo. There is the main entrance and a takeout entry on opposite ends of the parking lot. The burgers were really good. I got the chile burgeritto. The chile was very good and had no beans in it. The chopped onions go great with it. The fries were good, but very salty. We also got the fries with gravy and cheese. Those didn't have as much salt and were great. The onion rings were just ok, nothing special. I definitely had a good first experience.

Took the kids, they got the cheeseburgerritto and the chili chicken ritto I got the steak and cheese then we shared a buffalo chicken Mac and cheese. We all agreed the Mac and cheese was close to perfect.. and that's saying a lot. It's not fancy but it's well made, not from A box and they use quality cheese and the pasta is cooked well, just firm enough to hold the cheese and the Buffalo chicken was very tasty We all enjoyed the "rittos" my steak an cheese was one of the best I've had in years.. fries are good, I'm not a fry person but they seemed fresh, cooked and seasoned well. Pickles were tasty, not made in-house although I'll bet they could if they wanted to. But still a very solid pickle. The waitress was very polite, professional and helpful. It was A very cold day and I really wanted coffee and she acted like it was not a big deal to make a pot for me. I'm positive it took some extra work on her part and I appreciated it very much. ORIGIN: Chomp Chomp opened in Fall 2024. It is the first…read moreand only Chomp Chomp. LOCATION: Chomp Chomp is located in the middle of the Danbury Fair Mall food court. ATMOSPHERE: Since Chomp Chomp is located in a mall food court, the atmosphere is as expected -- lots of background noises, scents, and activity. In a nutshell, not a relaxing place to gather and dine. CONCEPT: Chomp Chomp is fast food, but offers a curiously diverse list of dishes such as pastrami sandwiches, rice bowls, pork belly bao, and Oklahoma-style burgers. Likewise, Chomp Chomp offers a diverse range of beverages to complement your chosen dish, including mango milkshake, Coke, and creamsicle float. FOOD: So much is offered on the menu, but I've been enamored by the Oklahoma-style burger and have yet to explore the menu. As I understand this century-old regional burger preparation method, beef is smashed on a grill, seasoned, topped with thin slices of onions, which in turn are covered with cheese. Steam from the onions permeates the cheese as it melts. The result is a super moist burger in which flavors of each component are married, rather than contrasted. SERVICE: Each time I've visited the person working the counter was enthusiastic about the new business and eager to offer guidance. TIP: For a few dollars more you can get fries and a drink. For a single burger this ends up being around cost of McDonald's ($12), but the quality, service, and flavor is far better at Chomp Chomp. The Oklahoma burger is available as single or double. I found that the flavor was more pronounced in the double version. Toppings are customizable. For example, you can add lettuce and tomato on a burger, or add meat or sauces to fries. (That said, I prefer to stick to the original Oklahoma burger version in order to experience the regional burger in its original form.)

Found a lot of the places in the food court were gone. But Chomp chomp was there. The counter guy was friendly and patient. My husband ordered the pastrami burger and I had the smash burger. Both had the fries and drinks special. The burger was tasty. But the sauce made it very slippery and finally I couldn't finish it. I felt I had hit my greasy limit for the day. My husband devoured his. But ultimately couldn't finish it either. My conclusion is that it wasn't for us. Our stomachs can't take greasy like we use to. Which is a shame, because it did taste good. I suggest you give it a try and see if you like it.

The deli options are extensive and a bit overwhelming if I'm honest. I had a Reuben and gluten-free bread and my GF had a turkey sandwich. There are endless potato chip options and beverage options. Sadly, I did not take a picture of the giant box that was given to me with the sandwiches. There is a special for one dollar off per sandwich when you buy a large amount. I don't know the actual amount. I had a ham, egg and cheese on a roll. It tasted really good especially for the discounted price. There is a huge drink selection and a full menu for breakfast and lunch. The decor inside is really cool. It looks like a store from early 20th century America with all the wood. Tables inside to sit and enjoy your food. I will definitely be returning to try one of their lunch sandwiches.

It's that good. Food quality/price (value) rating 10. The atmosphere is classic family friendly diner. I stopped here after I just happened to pass by while headed to a friends house and decided I could eat some breakfast. I'm very happy that I did. The place was bustling on a Saturday morning and I was probably lucky to get a seat at the counter. By the time I had finished breakfast, there was a waiting line out the door which is always a good sign. The owner and Griddle Master, Peter, and his wife Stephanie, have operated this diner at this location for more than thirty years! I had the breakfast special of two eggs, HOMEMADE CORNED BEEF HASH (like striking gold), homefries, and bakery fresh rye toast - incredible! Probably the best breakfast I've had in years, seriously. The corned beef hash was properly crispy, as were the homefries, which rarely occurs at most diners even when requested. There were at least five people keeping the customers happy, and the staff and customers were all friendly and talkative. That is a bonus found only in small country towns like Southbury, a small New England postcard quality town right off Interstate 84 exit 15. If you're looking for a truly old time experience that is rare these days, run here as soon as you can. I guarantee that you won't be disappointed! I will be bringing the wife back very soon. Closed Mondays.
