What a wonderful location! I must add that I ended up here completely on accident. The subway I typically order from was out of many items, so I went to the next closest in the app it sent me to this address. I was thinking it was the one at the other end of mchenry. In fact, I headed there first. Once I finally made my way back up mchenry, it was Rush hour, I found it at the corner of Roseburg and mchenry. I had forgotten it was here. When I pulled in, and went inside, the gentleman that helped me was washing his hands then turned around to greet me with a pleasant smile. I told him my name and that I had an order, he verified it and then told me that there was a substitution on the bread, which was fine. The store is immaculate! This isn't something I normally pay much attention to but it was very convenient to park and go in, it was well lit, and everything was like shiny clean. Now the sandwich that I took a picture of, it's a veggie delight, it's loaded with vegetables which I love, and they got the sauce just right. Exact order. They have customers in front of them and then their online pick up orders as well! They make it happen and the sandwiches taste so great! This Subway location is a staple for me because it is nearby my home, consistent, and they have coupons that make it a bargain. Two footlongs for $12.99 for example. Sometimes even two for the price of one! Service here is very good. Most of the employees are friendly. The restaurant has always been clean when I dined here. That is a huge plus. The biggest faults I can mention are the bread is not always fresh, and their APP doesn't let you order certain things such as a large drink for a combo. The APP can be a bit dodgy at times too. The food quality at Subway has greatly improved over the years, but the meats are by no means top notch. Good, not great. The same goes for the cheeses they serve. I am very disappointed they no longer have swiss cheese. It was one of the few cheeses they offered that tasted like cheese. Just the facts... I walked in at 8pm. They close at 9pm. This was my second visit today, 4th this week I got my order as usual but couldn't get my desired cookies. There was none of any flavor. I asked for the meal deal and got chips instead. All the tea drinks that I prefer were already gone. I sat at a table in the corner. Minutes later the chairs were placed on the tables and the tables were slid up against the remaining booths so none could be used. I felt uncomfortable sitting in the only open seat in the place while at least 5 other customers bought food...and took it to go. 8:30, the workers blocked the drinking fountain with dispenser parts so I waited for 10 minutes to refill my drink. When I walked up to refill my drink a voice from the back said "have a nice night" I went back to my table where my things were and continued to wait for my son to text me his order. Online order.. one was not supposed to be toasted and it was, other had Stale bread. Toppings were skimpy, sandwiches we bland. I literally just stopped eating a quarter way through my foot long and fed the rest to my dog because this was the most terrible sandwich I've ever purchased ever! I'm super bummed about it, I eat subway somewhat often just not from this particular location. You can't serve a poor attitude and a terrible sandwich. Not sure how to start this review off since almost each time I go in it's like flipping a coin. Sometimes it's great with awesome chit chat with the staff and a great sandwich just the way ordered or it's a long wait with a team member behind the counter the other cleaning and weird customers. AND when I get home my sandwich looks like it went through the dryer with 1/3 of the goodies outside of the buns and way too much sauce. I order online most times so I did not ask for the "let's kick the sandwich around like a soccer ball - sandwich". Seriously though other times it's in'n'n out like it should be with a pre-order. It sucks because I always tip but am not aware until I get home of the status of my lunch. Maybe I stop tipping? Again I go because there are times it is great just weird people. One time I thought there was going to be a situation...like scary crazy guy that I thought was going to jump a lady that he felt took cuts in line. This was really frightening because I came in the middle of all this and I had to pick up my prepaid sandwich which means going into another line and like basically jumping to next automatically since I paid online and my sandwich is on the counter. First and for most let me state the customer is always right never argue with a customer if you are on the Clock please. I walked into this subway to get my sandwich made, and I was helped by the Sandwich Artist Hanna, We had a conversation about the bread simply about the size of it, in which the Hanna had told me all the subway have the same size bread, after hearing this myself working in subway and owning and operating subway 9 plus years now with my uncle operating 13 stores in Stockton, CA so I am very familiar with subway brand bread Poofing and baking process. I then advised Hanna that her information is Incorrect in which we got into a argument and she dropped my sandwich on the roasting guard really hard, I had then informed Hanna that I would like someone else to make my sandwich due to the aggression she was displaying. I was helped by another Sandwich artist that finished my sandwich very politely and she did a awesome Job Thank you to her, but Hanna had displayed very poor Customer service in the end. She had displayed very unacceptable behaviors in which any subway owner would not want a Sandwich artist to act like this, it had ruined my Mood. I also know the owner of this restaurant is Sharma I'm sure this is also Unacceptable in his standards as well who I'm sure knows of my Uncle in Stockton, CA as well which hold the same standards for Sandwich artist to be more then Polite to the guest who attend the Sandwich Shop. I know I didn't have to put owners name here but just wanted to mention it in the review so that Sharma would Notice the review I don't want any actions taken against Hanna but maybe advise some university of Subway Classes for this Sandwich Artist on Customer Service she goes by the name of Hanna. While the parking can get frustrating, there is more in the back. The service more then makes up for any tiresome parking. The owner is hands on, the crew is attentive and even while busy they make you feel welcome. I highly recommend this subway location above any other in Modesto. read more

I am giving three stars because I have been coming here pretty much my whole life and usually never have bad experiences, but just now I was there. A girl with glasses and brown hair helped me. I ordered a vegan sandwich with avocado (she also didn't know what breads were vegan and didn't bother to ask the other worker). She left off the avocado, which sucks because vegan sandwiches are really boring without avocado. I don't really think that is a huge deal because she is human and people make mistakes sometimes. The part that bugs me is I called to tell her she forgot my avocado and she was really rude. She said "my bad. I don't know what else you want me to do. You're going to have to come back in and get it and you will have to pay for it too." I have experience in the sandwich world as a manager for five years and my boss would have expected us to be extremely apologetic and offer to make up for it somehow. "I am so sorry for the inconvenience. If you would like to come back and get the avocado, we will go ahead and throw it in for free because I know what an inconvenience this is." I am a cancer patient, so it would not be worth it to go back so I can go ahead and be treated like I am annoying and be charged for avocado that she mistakenly left off. I also don't understand how you guys justify trying to charge someone for avocado on a vegan sandwich when you have a buy one, get one free coupon. I wasn't getting meat or cheese, which is much more expensive, yet I wouldn't have to pay extra for either one of those using this coupon.
